Help all mankind

Chapter 60
Servo motor is the basis of modern industrial manufacturing. Since the emergence of computer, chip has gradually replaced human beings in various industries.

Most of us are unfamiliar with the occupations that have been replaced, such as telephone operator and bank data checker.

Most of the industries that were initially robbed of their jobs are only related to data. These are easy to understand. People with better data processing ability can never win computers.

But soon, computers began to take over some fine human labor.

The servo motor is a bridge that enables the computer to obtain action ability at the physical level.

Unlike ordinary motors, they start to rotate rapidly when powered on. They are suitable for the power of aircraft and cars, but it is far fetched to use them to accurately control the movement of arms.

The servo motor is completely different. First of all, it is not the kind that turns when it is directly connected to the battery, but needs to be connected to the drive motherboard controlled by a small chip, and then connected to the circuit of the computer.

Generally speaking, servo motor is integrated with computer.

Because of the huge difference in structure, the servo motor can rotate a very small and extremely accurate angle after getting a pulse command from the computer.

This is the difference between servo motor and general power motor. It is good at rotating the specified angle according to the command. It can be very accurate. At the same time, after turning to this angle, it will be stuck at that angle until a new command is received.

The power motor starts when it is powered on. After it is powered off, it will continue to rotate for a period of time due to inertia, and it is impossible to determine the final stop.

But the servo motor is different. Even if it does not rotate, it needs to be powered on and consume electric energy, and it is firmly maintained at that angle. It is useless even if it is broken by hand.

Only after receiving the command from the computer can the specified angle be rotated according to this command, and the computer can confirm the current angle of the servo motor in real time.

The development of servo motor has been for decades. The pursuit of its performance is mainly reflected in accuracy and ruthlessness, that is, precision and strength. In addition, it needs high stability, no error in long-term work, small vibration, and speed is a secondary index.

The servo motor achieves accurate control at low speed, so the manipulator can appear.

In addition, the so-called steering gear used in the aircraft model is actually a low-end servo motor, which is also the most common servo motor system.

Larger servo motors are widely used in modern fully automatic factories and are also regarded as the core components of humanoid robots in the future.

However, the development of humanoid robot tends to stagnate, because so far, the servo motors that can be placed at the joints of humanoid robot have lost to humans of the same weight level in terms of force.

Liang Shicheng has seen a humanoid robot. Unfortunately, it can only climb and can’t walk.

The joints of robots that can walk on the market are basically exaggerated. Moreover, due to the use of super large torque version servo motor, the promotion of one attribute needs to weaken other attributes, so it seems stuck in action.

Even if the humanoid robot supports its focus, it is a painful thing.

Therefore, it may be a wrong idea to imagine that the human power of machines is infinite. The key is that large animals like such humanoid robots win in power.

More pessimistically, in fact, foreign manufacturers have made great efforts in the research and development of servo motors, that is, the servo motors available on the market are very mature.

And the performance has been difficult to grow, reaching the physical limit.

Perhaps the only path on the road of humanoid robot at present is servo motor, which may not work.

Although humanoid robots haven’t made a breakthrough in decades, in this field of factories, robotic arms are booming.

If you want a very good servo motor with great strength and high precision, you must use a larger and heavier servo motor. However, there is no problem that a mechanical arm is fixed on a table alone in the factory.

Only in the current situation, it is difficult for the servo motor to drive its own weight.

Of course, even if the enlarged version of the giant robot is made, it basically falls down at the touch and can’t stand up.

Despite this, the servo motor is still the best core part of the robot arm that human beings can hold. Although it can also be produced in China, the large-scale, ultra-high precision and high stability for assembling automobiles depend on imports.

Moreover, the supporting gear bearings and other parts still need to be imported. The more joints of the manipulator, the greater the error accumulation, and the higher the accuracy requirements of each part.

In the servo motor and high-precision parts, China uses a huge amount of foreign exchange to the leading island countries every year.

If basic parts want to be made by themselves, it is difficult to make a breakthrough. If a part has been sold in the market for decades, the companies that have produced them in recent decades have almost optimized them to the extreme.

Servo motor and high-precision machining are very difficult, so Liang Shicheng has another bold idea.

Start over, abandon the accuracy, develop a large torque motor, or even give up a certain stability, and use multiple groups to work together at the same time.

Then add various sensors at the end of the manipulator. Although the overall accuracy is very poor, you know where you are wrong and keep correcting, which can finally ensure the accuracy of the arm.

Even the whole manipulator system does not need high-precision parts.

So when the executives of the whole Lingdong company were anxious like ants on a hot pot, Liang Shicheng leisurely set up a small technology company. In order to hide people’s eyes and ears, he claimed to be a mechanical prosthetic development company.

The main business is to develop mechanical prostheses, mechanical exoskeleton systems, and humanoid robots.

Of course, these are for the needs of recruiting personnel and giving the company a cooler title.

Because at the beginning of the design, many indicators were lent and the accuracy was abandoned, which not only shortened the research time and reduced the product cost.

And there is an unexpected discovery, that is, the new manipulator system can not only ensure the strength, but also make it smaller and lighter.

In this way, it seems that the goal hanging on the company introduction can be completed by chance.

After developing the prototype of large manipulator used in automobile factories, Liang Shicheng still did not give up his support and investment in the company, but let them continue to specialize in the direction of miniaturization.

Everything seemed to be going well, but in the end there was a problem.

This idea of abandoning the accuracy of the hardware itself and using the sensor correction is good in itself, but it is very troublesome to control.

The computer in the factory can only execute the gcode path program set by software in advance, and can not be adjusted in real time according to the actual situation, that is to say, this set of manipulator can not be controlled by ordinary computer.
