Help all mankind

Chapter 56
”Professor ridorf said that this is a temporary emergency solution, which can not guarantee a success, and the final scheme is still under development.

So don’t expect too much from today’s test results. Failure is common for engineers. ”

After arriving at the company the next day, the very unsure ghost poured a basin of cold water on the people to avoid making a fool of himself,

At the same time, it is also a step for himself and cliff.

Looking at the hand-made wooden box in front of the table, you can’t imagine that this thing can solve their current problems.

There are two samples mailed. One has been disassembled and placed on the table for everyone to analyze the working principle.

After dismantling the mysterious wooden box yesterday, Liang Shicheng studied it for several hours, but there was still no progress, so he had to look forward to the actual measurement the next day.

When the box is opened, the structure of the whole device can be seen at a glance. The main body is an old hand-painted circuit board. Although it is full of electronic components, they look very old, just some of the most basic three pin transistors.

There are no integrated circuit chips on the circuit board. In addition, there are only some devices such as resistors and transformers. In short, the circuit composition is very simple.

From the welded joints, there are obvious manual traces, like a work made in a hurry.

Perhaps in order to prevent the original from being separated due to faulty soldering, these large transistors were also pasted with white glue and noisily adhered to the motherboard full of temporary flying wires.

In addition to the circuit part, there is only a convex lens and some gears in the box, which seems to be used to store data.

According to Liang Shicheng’s statistics, the number of transistors on the whole motherboard is less than 50, and even the most basic adder function in modern computer integrated circuits can not be realized.

Although the overall physical structure is very simple, it has become a heavenly book for Liang Shicheng to find out its working principle.

The idea of this thing can not be found in his knowledge. Although he still remembers the knowledge of Analog Circuit Courses in the University, the device in this box is too simple to be used to process digital signals, let alone programming.

Although the thing is simple, Liang Shicheng has a little awe of it.

Now the wooden box was opened and put in front of the people.

”What else can this pile of resistance wires be used for besides heating?” A colleague half sneered.

Although GuiGui is not a special science and Engineering Department, she knows something about these things. When she was a child, she somehow disassembled the digital Tyrannosaurus Rex machine and knew that the black thing on the circuit board is a chip, which integrates a large number of micro circuits to realize various simple functions.

But the wooden box is so direct that it doesn’t even have a chip. In your impression, such a circuit should be used for a warm water bag.

GuiGui can’t believe it. This is a problem-solving device made by ridorf. She suspects that ridorf sent the wrong thing.

But in fact, he did not make complaints about it. After reading the folder provided by Liang Shicheng, he spent a few minutes studying the problem carefully and then he Tucao a sentence.

”What does this have to do with artificial intelligence? Do people like to mention artificial intelligence so casually now?”

Then he went into a place where old parts were stacked, took out the required parts one by one from the box, and welded them to two circuit boards that he didn’t know where to remove.

Then he put his things on a counter and went to work on other things.

Looking back to the company, another colleague with some insight sighed,

”The computer that uses gears to store data should have been for some years. I hope it works without delay.”

Liang Shicheng picked up another wooden box, took several people to the garage and began to experiment.

From the outside, there are only three exposed parts of the wooden box. A large hole may be a camera, an indicator light, and an outdoor No. 9 battery.

But back to the structure inside, the possibility that the big hole is a camera is very low.

The working mode of the box is very simple, and several illustrations engraved on the box explain that the large hole needs to be calibrated and aligned with the driving direction of the vehicle. After the battery is connected, when the indicator light is on, it means that the equipment recognizes that there is a large truck ahead and should slow down.

According to the requirements, the people made preparations, and then manually drove an experimental vehicle on the road. In order to find a large truck, Liang Shicheng ordered to find a nearby toll station and enter the expressway.

At the same time, he made a call to a stranger.

After driving for a long distance, the experimental vehicle finally saw the first big truck. At first, the wooden box didn’t respond. Liang Shicheng continued to order to slightly shorten the distance from the big truck.

This time, the indicator light quietly lit up. Seeing this, they put down all kinds of doubts and began to study the equipment at ease.

After some groping by the driver, he found that he did not need to be particularly close to the truck. As long as the direction of the vehicle body was facing the truck, the indicator light would naturally light up. In other words, the alarm would be triggered only when the accelerator would collide.

Otherwise, in other cases, the wooden box is very honest and let the big truck pass by.

At this time, he looked in the rearview mirror and answered the phone. Liang Shicheng warned that the good play began, first let the driver slow down deliberately and let a special truck behind overtake.

The truck was hired by Liang Shicheng in the morning and has been on standby. Its body is also painted with a special pattern,

It was another camouflage from Professor Frank, but at the same time, there were a few large lines written on the back of the trunk.

”My compatriots are close by mistake.”

Liang Shicheng explained the situation a little, then asked the driver to be more careful and pointed the body direction at the truck.

In the face of this situation, the wooden box keeps the warning light on all the way.

When the experiment came here, it had been shown that ridorf’s sample was very successful. After all, it was only a sample. It didn’t matter if it was simple. What was important was the working principle.

For the sake of safety, unmanned driving was not used during the whole test, but it is enough to show the reliability of the wooden box.

Next, the hardware team only needs to find out its principle, reduce and simplify it, then use modern technology to manufacture it, connect the circuit of the alarm lamp to the driverless system, and then slightly modify the program.

Although ridoff’s scheme can not help the driverless system avoid in front of the truck, it can also avoid safety accidents as long as the program is set to brake immediately once the alarm light circuit is on.

After all, it is extremely rare for a large truck to be invisible in front of the driverless system.

Liang Shicheng sat in the car and sent all the confusion to Professor Frank. So far, he still knows nothing about the working principle of the wooden box. A few minutes later, he received a reply,

”Have you ever heard of an animal called a rattlesnake?”
