Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 346: The Truth of Deep Space & Save Me! ”Um, Mr. Reeve, you and Dr. Kal’tsit can go to the office. Little Amiya, you can show us around Rhodes Island.”

Jessica was also smart enough to realize that the topic Lucas Reeve and Kal’tsit were about to discuss was touching upon the world’s most core secrets, perhaps even more mysterious than the existence of gods.

Therefore, Jessica didn’t follow them in, even though Lucas Reeve and Kal’tsit didn’t mind.

But Jessica and the others still took the initiative to leave and stroll around Rhodes Island.

”Dusk, Miss Nine-Colored Deer, are you two going too?”

Jessica pulled Amiya away and was surprised to see Dusk and Nine-Colored Deer also following behind. After all, she was just a mortal, while Dusk and Nine-Colored Deer were actual, bona fide gods.

”No, I’m not interested. I don’t want to know too much.”

Dusk shook her head.

She was still just a child of a few thousand years; she didn’t want to know too much.

Nine-Colored Deer also shook her head and said: ”Knowing too much can easily stain one with great causality.”

After speaking, she also followed Jessica and Amiya, preparing to tour this massive Landship. Although Nine-Colored Deer had been to Rhodes Island once before, last time she had just snuck in, not toured it in detail.

The group, led by Amiya, walked off the deck.

And Lucas Reeve also walked back to Kal’tsit’s office alongside her.

Lucas Reeve hadn’t been to Kal’tsit’s office in a long time. Sometimes, Lucas Reeve really wanted to complain, did Kal’tsit have some kind of mysophobia? Why was even her own office kept so tidy? The mountain of files was stacked neatly in detailed categories, and a faint floral scent permeated the office. This was Miss Perfumer’s masterpiece.

”Have a seat.”

Kal’tsit pointed to the sofa in front of her desk, then personally poured a pot of tea for Lucas Reeve, and sat across from Lucas Reeve, her legs held tightly together and tilted to the side, looking quite aesthetic.

”Doctor, crossing your legs isn’t a good habit.”

Kal’tsit didn’t get straight to the point, but instead reminded Lucas Reeve.

”Er... I’m not in the ’Doctor’s’ weak body anymore.”

”Hmph. It’s still a bad habit.”

Kal’tsit snorted and asked: ”What do you plan to do with the ’Doctor’s’ body?”

”Let’s leave it in Chernobog for now. Before I left, I just left a soul fragment for Amiya. If anything comes up, I’ll use the soul fragment to communicate.”

The main issue was that the Doctor’s body was too troublesome.

After all, it was just the body of a truly ordinary person.

So, it needed to eat, exercise, and move around regularly every day, otherwise, all sorts of problems could easily pop up. It was really a bit troublesome. So, Lucas Reeve felt it was better to just leave it in Chernobog.

”That works.”

Kal’tsit nodded, took a small sip of the flower tea, and got straight to the point: ”Doctor, what do you think is in the sky?”

Lucas Reeve thought for a moment. In his mind, the scene of the gods rebelling in his dream surfaced again. He had tried to peek at that time, but was discovered by something indescribable and forcefully driven out of the dream.

In fact, Lucas Reeve had long been suspicious of this sky.

Based on his previous life’s experience.

Lucas Reeve had also once built a rocket capable of flying to space. He had installed a camera on the rocket, preparing to let the rocket leave Terra to film the scenery outside of Terra. However... the former Lucas Reeve had already discovered a problem.

His rocket couldn’t fly out at all.

”Are there aliens in the sky?”

Lucas Reeve said jokingly.

However, in the face of Lucas Reeve’s joke, Kal’tsit had no intention of laughing at all. Instead, her expression became even more rigid.

”Er...”

”Don’t tell me there really are?”

Kal’tsit shook her head: ”I don’t know either. I am just one of the myriad beings on this land. What exactly is outside the sky, I’m not sure. However, Doctor, have you ever thought, why has no one on all of Terra ever tried to launch an aircraft into the sky?”

”Isn’t it said that there’s Originium dust in the sky?”

Lucas Reeve said.

”That’s only one reason.”

Kal’tsit held up her slender index finger.

”The second reason is that Originium comes from this land; it is a manifestation of the land’s will. Originium carries inherited memories. This land is alive. Of course, when I say ’alive,’ I don’t mean this land has its own consciousness like we do. Rather, this land has its own instincts. When it reaches a certain point, it’s like our bodies, where the cells inside will constantly regulate themselves.”

”Originium comes from the land, and the restriction the land places on Originium is that it cannot leave the land. When Originium rises to a certain altitude, the Originium dust belt in the sky acts like a boundary. When the Originium’s altitude exceeds this boundary, the Originium’s power will gradually be lost.”

”And if it climbs higher, continues to climb higher, and finds a new energy source to replace Originium to ascend above the sky, at the edge of the sky, there is something that will lock onto the aircraft, and then destroy it.”

Lucas Reeve: ”???”

”Lock-on??”

Lucas Reeve hadn’t expected there to be something like that in the sky.

”You should be able to guess, Doctor. Even if you’ve lost your memories, I believe you can easily guess the reason with your intelligence.”

Lucas Reeve seemed to think of something, frowning: ”The previous civilization?”

Kal’tsit nodded: ”The weapons at the edge of the sky come from the previous civilization. And their purpose is obvious: to prevent future generations of humanity from leaving Terra, from ascending to the sky.”

”As for the reason for stopping them...”

Lucas Reeve and Kal’tsit looked at each other and said in unison: ”To prevent the people on the ground from prying into the truth of deep space...”

”Doctor, do you know why the Gods and Behemoths do not use Originium energy?”

”......”

Lucas Reeve narrowed his eyes. ”The gods are not native creatures of Terra?”

Kal’tsit’s icy face rarely curved into a smile. Although it was just a tiny bit, it was still like black ice melting.

”You should know why, for the nations of Terra, the greatest threat is the Demons, right?”

”The Demons do not come from Terra itself. Their existence is as if they are turning Terra into their nourishment. And Terra is not a single entity; it cannot fight back directly like we humans can...”

Speaking of this, Kal’tsit got up and returned to her desk.

It was a good thing Jessica and the others hadn’t come.

This information was too profound. These secrets, honestly, perhaps the number of people in the whole world who knew them could be counted on one hand. Even the monarchs of the superpowers might not know. These truths were perhaps hidden in the hands of long-lived species like Kal’tsit.

Lucas Reeve did not leave Kal’tsit’s office, but was thinking.

After a while longer.

Lucas Reeve got up to leave. Just before leaving, suddenly, Lucas Reeve paused and asked, half-turning his head.

”Kal’tsit, you should know my identity. Is it really okay to tell me this? I am also...”

Kal’tsit didn’t look up: ”You are not.”

”Also, thank you for your contribution to the Infected of this land. As expected, only a professional can complete a professional’s job.”

Lucas Reeve hadn’t expected Kal’tsit to actually thank him. He was a bit surprised.

”I was also doing it for myself.”

Lucas Reeve walked out of Kal’tsit’s office and closed the door.

When Lucas Reeve found Jessica and Amiya, he found they were all chatting in his room.

Seeing Lucas Reeve come in.

Everyone waved at Lucas Reeve.

No one asked what Lucas Reeve and Kal’tsit talked about, but when everyone saw that Lucas Reeve’s expression seemed a bit grave, they could roughly guess that they might have chatted about some rather serious matters.

After Lucas Reeve returned to the room, he strengthened the soul fragments in Jessica’s necklace, Surtr’s sword, and inside Skadi’s body to the point where they could accommodate consciousness. Now that he had his own body, Lucas Reeve could now freely tear his soul. He then tore off another small piece and gave it to Amiya. As for the Doctor’s body, he’d just leave it in Chernobog for now. This would also save a lot of trouble.

Lucas Reeve prepared to take the aircraft from Rhodes Island to Kazimierz in the middle of the night, arriving just at dawn.

When girls get together, they love to chat about everything. With Lucas Reeve as the only male, Lucas Reeve basically couldn’t get a word in, so he could only play on his phone on the side. As for Beeswax, since her goal was Rhodes Island, she was taken away by dedicated HR staff to register and learn about the situation within Rhodes Island after she arrived.

”Huh? Miss McCree is actually alive.”

A text message popped up on Jessica’s phone. The sender shown on the text message was MacAr x.

Hearing that Magallan had actually sent a message, everyone’s heads immediately crowded around Jessica’s phone.

”What did Magallan say?”

Franka asked.

Jessica suddenly let out a sound of surprise: ”Strange, Miss Max seems to have sent an emergency message?”

Jessica opened the text message.

Then, on the text message, a few large words were written prominently.

”Save me!”

”Fuck! Did retribution come that fast??”

Upon seeing the content of the text message, Franka couldn’t help but retort.

”Miss Nine-Colored Deer, didn’t you say Miss McCree wouldn’t be in danger?”

Jessica looked at Nine-Colored Deer in confusion.

Nine-Colored Deer smiled slightly: ”Under normal circumstances, if you go to rescue her in time, she will only face danger but no harm. But now that you know this ’cause,’ if you can resist the ’cause’ and dally or deliberately not go, then the original ’effect’ will change as a result.”

Fuck!!

”Let’s go, quickly!!”

Everyone quickly got up to leave. Suddenly, Lucas Reeve stopped everyone.

”Do you guys know where Lao Ba is?”

Jessica paused and shook her head. Liskarm didn’t know either. Skadi and the others were even less likely to know.

Finally, everyone’s gaze landed on Franka.

Franka thought for a moment and said: ”I remember, before Lao Ba left, she said she seemed to be going to some grave mound? She seemed to be planning to dig up a grave. What was that grave called... it’s been half a year, I don’t really remember. I only remember at the time I told her, be careful of retribution for digging up someone’s grave. I didn’t expect retribution to come so quickly.”

Liskarm silently retorted: ”When does Miss Mc *not* get retribution...”

”True that.”

But Lucas Reeve was stunned for a moment. It couldn’t be such a coincidence, right?

”Um, is it possible that grave mound is called... the Knight King’s Tomb?”

Franka clapped her hands, as if remembering, and said: ”Yes! That’s it, the Knight King’s Tomb! Whatever it’s called, it’s a grave mound anyway.”
