Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 249: Buffs Fully Stacked Magallan felt her scalp tingling.

She wished she could run backward to reverse time like in the movies and give her past self a huge slap in the face.

Ugh~

This is so embarrassing.

Jessica has actually been corrupted! She didn’t explain it to me right away, and just watched me make a fool of myself with Franka and the others.

Sure enough, Jessica is no longer that pure and innocent girl.

Magallan tugged at the slightly dazed-looking Skadi beside her and asked.

”Miss Skadi~ Is Miss Nian a god?”

Skadi listened, then nodded silently.

I knew it!!

”Then what about Miss Dusk?”

”Mm.”

”Miss Nine-Colored Deer?”

”Mm.”

”Miss Surtr?”

”Mm.”

”What about that Lucas?”

”Mm.”

Magallan: ”???”

No wonder Lucas looked at me so strangely back then. At first, Magallan thought he was shocked or in disbelief. She never expected it was... he was trying not to laugh but forcing himself to hold it in, which is why his expression looked so strained.

”So... everyone else knew?”

”Mm.”

Skadi nodded expressionlessly, like an emotionless nodding machine.

”Doesn’t that make me the clown?”

”Mm.”

”Was I super embarrassing back then?”

”Mm.”

F*ck!!

Magallan suddenly wanted to throw her backpack on the ground and put on a clown mask.

Pain!

So much pain!!

Jessica, why did you all hide this from me!!

Magallan instantly transformed into a double clown, evolving into the Clown Emperor.

That was Magallan.

Angelina, as a staunchly atheist modern high school girl, felt like her worldview was crumbling.

Holy crap!!

Gods are real!!

However, Angelina didn’t have as many internal meltdowns as Magallan. At most, she was just shocked and then got over it. After all, not everyone is qualified to become the Clown Emperor.

Seeing the nine-tailed fox appear.

The four divine messengers and the former-assessment-now-drama-watching group of four all knelt on the ground.

What shocked them most was that this white-haired girl in front of them was *also* a god!!

If that was the case, then everything made sense. What shocked the drama-watching group the most was that Lisa actually knew a god! And could even talk to her like a friend.

Jealousy!!

So jealous.

Why does Lisa get to be friends with a god! And have such a strong Shikigami!

Wait...

Don’t tell me that Shikigami is a god too?

An absurd thought popped into the minds of the drama-watching group, but it was quickly dismissed. How could that be? To have one god-like existence by your side is the blessing of several lifetimes. How could Lisa have two? And how could a powerful god be willing to become someone’s Shikigami?

”How’s your body recovering?”

Nian asked the nine-tailed fox.

The nine-tailed fox shook her head. ”Very bad.”

The nine-tailed fox’s gaze suddenly turned to Lucas, and that sexy, sister-like voice came from the fox’s mouth.

”It’s you.”

When the nine-tailed fox said this, the drama-watching group’s minds exploded again.

Damn it!

He really is!

Is Siracusa really that amazing?

The four of them were already planning to ask their elders to send them to Siracusa, too. Maybe they could also become friends with a god.

”?”

Lucas paused.

”Do I know you?”

This time it was the nine-tailed fox’s turn to be confused. Nian explained from the side, ”Lucas has amnesia, y’know. It’s normal.”

”Oh~”

The nine-tailed fox nodded, understanding instantly. ”Mr. Reeve, I have seen you once. During the great demon chaos in Beijiang some years ago, you were guarding the border with Miss Ling.”

”But now, chaos is imminent again. Sigh...”

The nine-tailed fox sighed.

Lucas could roughly guess what she meant. After all, Lucas could easily sense the decline and wear on the nine-tailed fox. Her injuries were very, very heavy. If he wasn’t mistaken, they were also from that great demon chaos many years ago.

”This selection is different from the past. Previously, they would only inherit a small bit of my power. But my injuries are too severe and cannot be healed in a short time. Therefore, this time, I have decided to fuse the majority of my power completely into the candidate’s body. Then, I will fall into a deep sleep until my injuries recover.”

”At first, I was conflicted. People’s hearts are fickle. No one can guarantee that they won’t become arrogant and act against their original intentions after obtaining my power. But... I believe I’ve found her now.”

The nine-tailed fox looked at Lisa.

”Little one, although your talent is average, not even as strong as any of the previous divine messengers, since you were chosen by two gods, you must have something special about you.”

The nine-tailed fox’s body gradually became transparent and dim, her voice growing more ethereal. Then, her body transformed into an incredibly pure, pink energy orb, which floated in the air and slowly drifted into Lisa’s body under everyone’s watchful eyes.

Pink runic chains appeared from all around and wrapped Lisa’s entire body, as if forming an energy egg.

Everyone’s gaze, including that of the drama-watching group, snapped over.

There was no jealousy or anger, only curiosity and envy.

Crack...

The pink ’eggshell’ surrounding Lisa suddenly made a cracking sound.

Crack... crack...

More and more cracks appeared on the ’eggshell’s’ surface, and a faint pink halo burst forth from within the cracks.

BOOM~

With a crisp sound.

The runic chains binding Lisa shattered.

A dazzling pink radiance shone incredibly brightly. Many people nearby covered their eyes. The light illuminated the entire mountainside plateau.

And when the light dissipated.

Lisa slowly floated down to the ground.

She looked at her body, somewhat confused, but didn’t find any changes.

”Eh? I thought it would be a magical girl transformation.”

Laurentina ”eh”ed, a little disappointed.

Angelina nodded. ”Me too!!”

This trip to Higashi truly broadened Angelina’s horizons, in a way an ordinary person wouldn’t even dare to imagine in their lifetime!

Holy f*ck, gods are real!!

Angelina instantly evolved from her former atheist self into one of the most faithful believers in gods.

The nine-tailed fox’s voice was gone. Her main body must have fallen asleep after giving away her power. Everyone immediately ran over and surrounded Lisa, including the drama-watching group and the divine messengers.

The group gathered around Lisa, all asking questions at once.

”Cousin, do you feel like you’ve gained a lot of *power*!!”

”Little cutie Lisa, can you transform into a magical girl?”

”Little cousin, are you going to be free of all worldly desires from now on?”

Lucas specifically placed his hand on Lisa’s head, releasing his Spiritual Power to check her current physical condition.

The nine-tailed fox’s divine power didn’t fuse with Lisa immediately, but was helping her gradually, somewhat like Surtr and Laevatain. Laevatain has no consciousness, only power, and what’s inside Lisa also only has power, no consciousness. Moreover, because the nine-tailed fox initiated the fusion, their two souls merged together very easily. Under the transformation of this divine power, Lisa’s original, merely decent physical talent improved significantly.

How to put it...

Her original stats only had one ’Good’, and the rest were ’Normal’ or ’Standard’.

But after this transformation.

Lisa’s talent directly changed to several ’Excellents’. However, her Originium Arts talent didn’t change; after all, gods don’t rely on Originium. With Lisa’s current talent, her future path is wide open. She can basically walk all the way to the ceiling of mortality.

Since the god had fallen asleep, the assessment was over. The divine messengers remained to guard the god, while everyone else left.

As they were leaving.

The drama-watching group was extremely envious of the shuttle Lisa had arrived in on the way back.

Back in the Mobile City.

When Lisa’s father and everyone else found out that Lisa was the one who had obtained the divine inheritance, they were all shocked speechless.

However, Lisa didn’t plan to stay in Higashi and hold some ’divine maiden’ position. Her business in Siracusa wasn’t finished. And even though she’d obtained divine power, she still needed constant training to get stronger. The current environment in Siracusa was perfectly suited for the present Lisa.

Lisa’s father didn’t object. And although the old Gūji of the Jinja was a hundred percent against it, there was nothing he could do. He only instructed Lisa to be sure to return if Higashi was ever in trouble.

Lucas could already imagine it.

The Siracusa Mafia finally got rid of one ’Grim Reaper’, only to welcome a new ’Daddy’.

The old Lisa, paired with a sniper rifle, was basically the nightmare of small and medium-sized Mafia families. But the current Lisa... while her upper limit probably won’t be as absurd as Patriot in his prime, perhaps her future limit could be as strong as Patriot during his Oripathy... Tsk tsk...

It’s basically a slaughter for the underworld forces.

Lisa will truly become the nightmare of Siracusa’s evil underworld forces.

But, thinking about it carefully.

A shocking discovery.

The kids around him, it seems, are each more extraordinary than the last.

Ifrit... has a Flame Demon Fragment in her body, and her own Originium Arts Adaptability is ’Excellent’. One Emperor’s Blade is already the peak level for a mortal. Ifrit’s future limit should be able to surpass that, maybe even reach the level of two Emperor’s Blades.

Then Ceobe...

Her talent is also ridiculously strong. In the future, she can basically reach one Emperor’s Blade.

Shamare’s own Originium Arts are too unique, it’s hard to say what her achievements will be.

Rosmontis’s future strength will 100% exceed one Emperor’s Blade, maybe even two or three. Rosmontis is still too young right now.

In the past, Lisa’s talent was the lowest.

But now...

Times have changed.

Originally, Elite Operator Franka was the strongest in Franka’s squad, an upper-mid tier Elite Operator in Blacksteel Worldwide. Now times have changed, and she’s gradually being power-crept. It seems she’s suddenly become the weakest fighter in the group.

Feel bad for Franka for one second.

Once the strongest, now the weakest.

The meta has shifted. The must-have unit has fallen into the gutter.

After all, it was a rare trip home. Lisa couldn’t possibly arrive and leave on the same day. She hadn’t seen her father in a long time. She decided to stay in Higashi for a while, and also told her father about her mother. As a husband, he just sighed, a flash of worry in his eyes.

After all.

When the two of them first got together, they had already imagined this day might come.

Lisa’s mother is an assassin.

Once you become an assassin, from the moment you kill your first target, it’s impossible to return to a normal life.

During this time, Lisa’s father also taught his daughter their ancestral Onmyō Arts.

”We finally made it to Higashi. Let me sharply critique the artistry of Higashi.”

Laurentina, as a self-proclaimed professional critic, definitely had to experience Higashi’s culture and art now that she was here!

For example... the ACG world....

Higashi is known abroad as the great nation of anime and the workshop for ”couple’s action films.” Although Higashi’s government is reluctant to admit it and has even thought about shifting the country’s industry, it’s been useless. Plus, the ACG industry brings in so much revenue for Higashi—a full 20% of the annual total—that they can’t do anything about it. It just makes too much money.

So it has created this phenomenon.

Perhaps no one knows Higashi’s capital, but they definitely know the famous anime street, Akiha Street.

They might not recognize Higashi’s current leader, but they’ll definitely know Teacher Kanda or Teacher Kura.

”Where do you want to go?”

Everyone’s eyes turned to Laurentina.

Laurentina’s lips curled up slightly, as if she already had a plan.

”A host club!”

Everyone: ”???”

For a moment, everyone felt Laurentina’s interests might be a bit... broad.

In Yan, she proposed going to a pleasure house. The idler group of four was there, Magallan was there... Although Lucas didn’t know Magallan was there at the time, she was indeed on a nearby street, which didn’t affect the stacking of buffs at all. And then they met Celestial Master Li and Miss Qingyan.

And this time, a host club... again proposed by Laurentina, Magallan is here again, the idler group of four is here... The exact same lineup, the exact same opening. Lucas had a feeling they were going to run into something.
