Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 610: Possibilities (Refresh To Clear Duplicate Paragraphs!)

The moment Michael gave his approval, the coffin space trembled.

A deep, resonant hum filled the void as the law seed in Spartan’s armored hand began to dissolve, bleeding radiant threads of gold and red energy that snaked into his body. The undead warrior remained standing, motionless even as the force tore through him. His armor cracked, faint streams of crimson light leaking through the fractures like molten veins.

The merging was far more violent than Ace’s. The law energy within the seed wasn’t actually docile and resisted.

Fortunately, they’re seemed to be a strange force that prevented the current progress from failing.

The air thickened.

Pressure rolled outward like tidal waves, distorting the gray sand underfoot. Each pulse felt heavier than the last.

Michael could sense the sheer density of energy gathering inside Spartan’s form.

Until finally—

BOOM!

A burst of golden-crimson energy exploded outward, slamming into the coffin ground with a sound like a roaring storm.

Michael’s cloak rippled violently, but his expression didn’t waver. His body, tempered beyond human limits, didn’t even flinch. To him, the force was nothing more than a gentle breeze brushing against his cheek. But had Ace still been here, he would have collapsed instantly under the sheer spiritual pressure now filling the spacs.

Michael’s gaze deepened.

The pressure continued to rise.

’Rank 3,’ Michael thought, a small gleam flickering in his eyes.

The instant the threshold was crossed, the pressure compressed sharply, vanishing in an implosion of silence. The swirling light started to fade, leaving Spartan standing once again—but transformed.

Then the panels appeared before Michael.

[Evolution Complete!]

[”Undead Human” has merged with ”Pseudo Divine Blood” and ”*****Law Seed”]

[Result: ”Undead Blood Servant”]

[Rank Advancement: Rank 2 → Rank 3]

[New Skills Acquired:]

– Regenerative Veins (Servant)

– Bloodborne Amplification (Servant)

Michael’s eyes flicked across the notifications in quiet satisfaction. The list of skills was nearly identical to Ace’s.

But unlike Ace, Spartan’s foundation as a High Human had drastically amplified the effects. His physical strength alone had increased severalfold.

The light around Spartan thinned until only a calm aura remained. Up close, the change in his body was subtle. The white in his eyes turned to the same green that lived in Michael’s eyes, and the harsh, corpse-like rigidity in his features softened until he could have passed for a living man in full plate.

It had not even been a day and the crystal beast that wore a flawless human guise no longer held the title of ”most convincing” in Michael’s legion.

Michael was truly pleased.

With the mutation of his talent, as long as he gathered the right materials, he no longer had to worry that his undead humans would fall behind as his own power climbed. The same applied to any subordinate for whom he could not shovel mountains of experience points.

Some would call that a disadvantage. It meant carving a new path over someone else’s original one. Perhaps a mismatched law might stunt a future ceiling, or force a servant into a mold that was not theirs.

Michael weighed it in silence and chose the other side of the scale. In this case, the advantages were better.

Michael turned his attention back to Spartan.

He wanted to see it—what law had taken root inside the undead.

[Law: Abyssal Pyre]

A tri-elemental fusion born from the union of Fire, Water, and Darkness. It corrodes and purifies simultaneously. The Abyssal Pyre devours vitality and mana, reduces matter to ash, and then reforms that ash into spiritual residue usable by its wielder.

The higher the purity of the target’s element, the stronger its consumption becomes.

Related to the Greater Law of Fire, Water, Darkness, and description.

Michael’s eyes lingered on the panel, the glowing text reflecting faintly against his irises.

Abyssal Pyre.

Related to the Greater Laws of Fire, Water, and Darkness.

This wasn’t the first time he’d seen such a thing.

The Fire Lion’s Last of Solar Fire law had only tied itself to a single greater law: Fire. Its effect was singular, overwhelming, and pure — a blaze that burned hotter than most beings could comprehend.

Yet Spartan’s Abyssal Pyre... carried more weight than that.

It was multi-aspected.

The more he thought about it, the clearer the pattern became.

Every time a law bore connection to more than one Greater Law, it grew more complex. It wasn’t simply a matter of power, but of function.

”Single-source laws like the Solar Fire are sharper,” Michael murmured under his breath. ”Direct. Focused. But those tied to multiple greater laws... they’re broader. Flexible. Capable of doing more than one thing.”

It wasn’t to say one side was stronger than the other though.

Like always, most times it depended on the wielder.

Michael gestured toward Spartan. ”Manifest your law.”

The armored undead obeyed instantly.

In the next breath, a black flame flickered into existence above Spartan’s palm.

It wasn’t an ordinary fire.

The flame rippled like liquid. Yet, despite its water-like form, the heat it released distorted the air around it.

Michael narrowed his eyes. ”So that’s the Abyssal Pyre.”

The visual contradiction was almost poetic—water-shaped flame that burned hotter than magma.

At first, a few ideas flashed through his mind but he quickly dismissed them. Laws like this, ones he couldn’t fully grasp, weren’t meant to be played with recklessly. For such experiments, a scapegoat was always better than self-testing.

Still, as he looked at Spartan standing motionless beneath the shifting light, other thoughts began to take root.

He knew now that leveling wasn’t strictly tied to experience points at rank 3. His recent discoveries had proven as much.

But if that was the case...

”If I merged another law into you,” Michael murmured, his eyes glinting faintly, ”would it advance your level further? Or would it give you a second law—or worse, overwrite the first?”

It was a dangerous line of thought, but curiosity pressed him forward.

Rather than continue guessing, he decided to test whether another merge was even possible.

[Required Cost: 2,000 Evolution Points.]

Michael’s brows rose slightly.

”So it is possible,” he murmured. ”But the cost doubled.”

Two thousand Evolution Points.

He let out a quiet sigh, dismissing the screen with a flick of thought. ”Not now.”

Michael wasn’t a fool. He might be daring, even reckless when the situation demanded it, but he knew where to draw his limits.

For one, he didn’t have many law seeds left to gamble with. Rank 3 monsters weren’t exactly common prey. And those that emerged from the dimensional cracks...

His gaze darkened slightly. ”They’re not normal. Something is definitely going to be off about those creatures.”

Michael decided he would wait.

When he had more seeds—or when he successfully comprehended one and didn’t need it again—then he’d try again.

As Michael in the Land of Origin went about his own work, the Michael in Aurora—now having finally brought the lingering feedback from Spartan’s advancement under control—slowly turned his gaze to his surroundings.

Currently, the AI-driven car Michael was in had already entered the capital state—where his academy was located—and was now cruising through the very city said to house the prestigious institution.

Leaning slightly toward the window, Michael’s gaze drifted across the bustling skyline. His eyes reflected the dancing neon hues of holographic advertisements as he silently observed the contrast between this city and the previous two he had lived in.

”Quite the difference,” he muttered under his breath.

In his earlier cities, seeing even one floating device was rare enough to draw attention, something that would make people stop and stare in awe. But here—while still not common—they were no longer strange or worth a second glance. Sleek delivery pods glided overhead in stable flight paths, some carrying packages while others transported mana-infused cores between districts.

Security drones patrolled intersections with disciplined precision, their scanners emitting faint blue beams as they swept crowds. Above, glassy towers shimmered with holographic projections that shifted every few seconds.

Some of the skyscrapers themselves were holograms. What had once been a glass building could, within minutes, resemble a steel monolith or a luminous temple of light.

Michael’s attention was briefly caught by a small metallic creature darting between pedestrians below. A mechanical fox.

It stopped to sniff another machine shaped like a cat, its tail flicking with surprising grace, before scampering off into an alley.

”Mechanical pets... that’s new,” Michael murmured, his gaze lingering with quiet fascination.

He wondered how it worked and functioned.

Putting the thought aside, he leaned back in his seat, eyes half-closed as his perception spread subtly through the city.

It wasn’t just the technology that felt different here—it was the supernatural presence itself.

Mana saturation was far denser. He could sense multiple energy signatures in every direction, some faint like candlelight, others sharp and condensed like spears. Knights—actual knights—walked openly on the streets.

”In my last cities, I barely saw a handful of knights in months,” Michael thought quietly. ”Here, there are dozens just in one district... and some of them are strong.”

The car’s AI voice chimed softly.
