Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 468 -468 Unexpected Presence

Michael exhaled softly as the door clicked shut behind Rohan.

The quiet returned.

He let out a long breath and leaned back in his chair, finally allowing himself a moment to relax. For now everything was under control.

Rohan hadn’t pressed too hard. The town hadn’t suffered. And most importantly, no outside force had arrived at his door.

It could’ve been worse. Outside his study window, the darkness still existed.

But in Aurora, which was usually three to four hours ahead, day break should be approaching.

Today was the day he was supposed to report back to college for matters concerning his college qualification exam. And

Still, before that…

He needed to think.

Michael sat up straight and called up his panel.

First, he wanted to see just how much feedback he’d received from evolving five undead to Rank 3.

Just sensing the power coursing through his body, Michael knew he was in for a massive revelation.

Fortunately, thanks to his high Intelligence—which granted a degree of bodily control—and the natural physical mastery that came with being a High Human, he was still able to maintain basic control over his strength.

Of course, to gain full control… he’d need to move around a bit.

‘Status.’

Michael blinked.

Then blinked again.

“…You’ve got to be kidding me.”

The stronger he got, the less feedback he was supposed to receive from his undead’s evolution. That was how it had always worked.

He was a High Human.

His base stats were already monstrous compared to most Awakened.

And yet…

Advancing five of his undead to Rank 3 had given him at least 30 points per stat—each.

His hands curled slightly on the desk.

The implications were absurd.

And it meant one thing clearly: unless he reached some ridiculous benchmark—perhaps True Rank 3 himself—he would continue receiving meaningful feedback from evolving his undead.

Substantial gains.

Even if it reached the point it became a single digit, that was already a couple of level ups.

Michael leaned back, staring up at the ceiling.

If he hadn’t felt the oppressive auras from Lucky, Beginning, and the others before unsummoning them, he might’ve genuinely believed he could now go head-to-head with a real Rank 3 Awakener.

But after sensing them—after seeing the raw pressure, the distortion of space, the way the laws twisted around their bodies?

He knew better.

They had stepped into a domain he hadn’t touched yet. Power that rivaled or exceeded his own.

“…It’s too much,” he muttered.

“At least they’re mine,” Michael then said softly. “That counts for something.”

He was genuinely in a good mood—until he noticed something else.

“However… my poor luck struck again.”

He rolled his eyes.

“Over a hundred stat gains, and yet… not a single skill.”

Not that he wasn’t grateful. But…

“Maybe it gets harder to gain new skills this way,” he muttered. “Or maybe there’s a cap.”

He shrugged.

“Whatever. I just gained a bunch of new ones anyway—no need to be greedy.”

Though, let’s be honest… more was always better.

But sometimes, too much of a good thing led to imbalance

Though Michael wanted to check the descriptions of his new skills—and even the advanced forms of his undead, especially his key ones—his curiosity was tugged in another direction.

What had happened with Lucky, Prince, Gale, Beginning, and Lily?

Those… seeds.

That power.

“Law,” Michael murmured.

The word echoed in his mind like a key unlocking a door he didn’t know existed.

Was that what allowed creatures to reach Rank 3? Or was it something that manifested after crossing into Rank 3? Was every Rank 3 being marked by a Law?

And if so… was that why the few Rank 3s he’d encountered seemed so absurdly powerful? Able to bend space, vanish without a trace, and shake the earth with a casual flick of their hand?

He didn’t know.

But now he had five undead that carried the seeds of Laws.

Michael frowned slightly, then went to pull up the status notification from before.

A glowing system prompt slid into view.

[Rank 3 Evolution Complete]

[Five Undead have Awakened Law Seeds.]

[Lucky] – Law of Venomous Flame (Seed)

[Beginning] – Law of Brutal Rebirth (Seed)

[Lily] – Law of Devouring Bloom (Seed)

[Prince] – Law of Spectral Command (Seed)

[Gale] – Law of Severing Wind (Seed)

Michael stared.

“…Laws,” he echoed aloud, his voice low.

He whispered the names slowly, one after the other—each one strange and arcane.

“Venomous Flame.”

“Brutal Rebirth.”

“Devouring Bloom.”

“Spectral Command.”

“Severing Wind.”

They sounded like spells.

He tapped on Lucky’s Law first.

[Law of Venomous Flame (Seed)]

A hybrid law forged from toxin and fire. Its flames do not just burn flesh—they ignite soul and mana alike, persisting beyond all natural extinguishing.

Connected to the Law of Corruption.

Michael’s eyes narrowed.

He tapped on Beginning’s next.

[Law of Brutal Rebirth (Seed)]

Born from agony and forged in survival, this law transforms pain into fuel. Severe wounds trigger powerful regenerative bursts—the closer to death, the stronger the rebirth.

Connected to the Law of Life.

Lily’s law came next.

[Law of Devouring Bloom (Seed)]

All beauty conceals hunger. This law allows the host to absorb essence from what it consumes, turning it into healing, strength, or even temporary traits.

Connected to the Law of Consumption.

He moved to Prince.

[Law of Spectral Command (Seed)]

The dead do not rest—they serve. This law enhances mastery over the incorporeal, empowering spirits and undead bound to the user’s will.

Connected to the Law of Death.

And finally—Gale.

[Law of Severing Wind (Seed)]

Wind sharp enough to carve through space itself. This law creates cutting force that ignores physical boundaries and defenses.

Connected to the Law of Destruction.

Michael leaned back in his chair again, breath shallow.

Based on what he had most read, for some reason, laws felt like concepts.

“Laws? Law seeds? What are they exactly? Ugh, so confusing!”

He was about to give up thinking about it, knowing his current knowledge was lacking, when a panel suddenly appeared in front of him.

[Laws are fundamental truths that govern reality. They are core principles of the universe.]

[A Law Seed is a fragment of a greater truth.]

Michael froze the moment the panel appeared.

His entire body tensed, and his senses snapped outward like a web of invisible threads.

He wasn’t alone, was he?

Someone… something… had triggered this.

He swept his perception across the manor—every corridor, every shadow.𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Nothing stood out.

Suddenly, Michael paused.

This message came from his system.

Only the system could create these panels.

And no ordinary person should be able to manipulate his system.

Michael’s voice dropped low, sharp.

“Who are you?”

“….”

[You can call me the origin will, child.]
