Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

183: Chapter 183 The Dark Red Bat EscapesWhen the regimental commander of the Longji City military noticed that the elite squad’s powerful weaponry could not hit the Dark Red Bat in the air, his expression changed!

”Damn it!”

”How could things turn out like this?!”

Their elite squad, consisting of over a dozen members, were all outstanding individuals within the current spiritual energy cultivation system. Their physical fitness far exceeded that of their peers, and they were equipped with their absolute best weaponry.

Electromagnetic rifles were the weapons for this operation. The penetration power of the electromagnetic bullets was astonishing, fully capable of eliminating ”D-” level creatures.

One must know that this elite squad had previously eliminated ”D-” level creatures in the wild!

They were able to break through the aura of ”D-” evolved creatures because they had developed helmets that shielded them from mental pressure.

”Why can’t the electromagnetic rifles hit this monster bat?!”

”How has the situation become like this... Could it be because that bat has wings and can fly?”

Compared to other creatures, the Dark Red Bat’s size was quite small, only three feet in length, about half the size of a human.

In their previous experience, the more powerful a creature was, the larger its size, so their weaponry had never taken hit probability into account...

The situation on the scene was indeed as the commander had feared. Despite the electromagnetic rifles’ immense power and the dazzling purple-blue muzzle flashes, they simply could not hit the Dark Red Bat as it dodged in the air.

Not only that, the elite squad on the ground was frequently ambushed by the Dark Red Bat, turning into headless corpses that slammed heavily onto the ground.

The situation was becoming increasingly clear; if it continued like this, the elite squad would definitely be worn down to death by this Dark Red Bat...

”By then... this monster bat will definitely continue to ravage Longji City!”

Thinking of this monster bat ravaging Longji City with its population of over a million, the commander couldn’t help but tremble. His eyes darted around, his thoughts raced, and he desperately tried to think of a solution.

”This is a residential area; we can’t use heavy firepower to strike...”

”Ordinary weapons don’t have enough power to harm ’D’ level creatures...”

”What should I do...”

More importantly... he also noticed that after the Dark Red Bat absorbed the blood of several members of the elite squad, its aura became increasingly terrifying and sinister. Furthermore, he didn’t know if it was just an illusion, but he felt that the bat’s size had grown compared to before.

Given the Dark Red Bat’s monstrous appetite for blood, he felt that if they didn’t decisively eliminate this monster, the millions of people in Longji City would be in danger!

Ring, ring, ring! Just at this moment, the satellite phone the commander carried with him rang.

”Commander Lin, the situation is critical. You absolutely cannot let that monster bat leave this place...”

”After discussions among the leaders of the Longji City military and government departments, there are currently only two options.”

”The first option: use heavy firepower to annihilate this monster!”

”The second option... is to project a video of a powerful creature...”

The commander, drenched in sweat, heard the second option, and his eyes suddenly lit up. ”Is it the projection of that flying creature from Jianghai City?”

”Yes, that’s right!”

”If we still cannot drive this monster bat away, we will have no choice but to cover this area with heavy firepower... The residents within a twenty-mile radius of this area are being evacuated...”

The commander fell silent for a moment and nodded. ”Alright.”

He looked towards the battlefield in the distance, where rumbling sounds could be heard. Even if they forcefully used heavy firepower to eliminate this Dark Red Bat this time, it would cause heavy casualties in Longji City. Creating large-scale explosions in a residential area would result in economic losses starting from ten billion, and after all, the order of Longji City would be thrown into chaos.

”I hope... the Ancient Creature projection from Jianghai City will be useful...”

Subsequently, a special vehicle arrived, delivering a holographic projection device.

...In the distance, of the original elite squad of over a dozen people, only five remained alive. Furthermore, each of them bore wounds that were deep enough to see bone. Their reactions had been faster than the others, which was why they had survived.

”Damn it, if this continues, we’re just waiting to die!”

”Commander... have you not thought of a solution yet?”

Out of their duty as soldiers, the five of them did not flee but instead continued to rely on the electromagnetic rifles in their hands to defend against sudden attacks from the air.

”Squeak, squeak... The blood of you monkeys... is even sweeter... truly delicious...”

In the air, that slightly shrill voice sounded again!

Boom! A sonic boom echoed in the air, and a thick, bloody stench, along with a malevolent aura, suddenly lunged at a soldier of the elite squad!

”Li Li! Scatter quickly! That monster’s target is you!”

”What?!”

The soldier had intended to dodge, but was suddenly affected by the pain from his wounds, making him a step too slow, and he was tackled to the ground by that red shadow!

Crack! The carotid artery in his neck was bitten through, and the Dark Red Bat began to suck blood in large gulps.

”You detestable beast!”

The four soldiers did not take this opportunity to use their electromagnetic rifles to attack the Dark Red Bat, which was currently crouching on their comrade’s corpse and sucking blood. This was because they had already tried doing so before, but the Dark Red Bat’s reaction speed was extremely fast, allowing it to dodge the attacks from their electromagnetic rifles.

Just as the four were in despair, a cry that resounded through the heavens echoed from high in the sky.

”This sound is so familiar...”

”Where is it coming from...”

”Look at the sky quickly!”

The four looked up and saw, in the azure sky, a giant, brilliantly golden bird bathed in an ocean of golden thunder, its fierce and powerful aura making their hearts tremble.

The Dark Red Bat, which had been greedily feeding on blood, stopped its movements. It quickly looked up, and when it saw that golden figure appear in the sky, the blood that had been excited throughout its body instantly calmed down. It had never imagined that there would come a day when it would feel such hair-raising terror!

”This is... a high-level... awakened bloodline power... sub-adult aerial creature?!”

Whoosh! Without hesitation! It transformed into a red blur and sped away into the distance!

It flew for a full several hours, and only when its physical strength was exhausted did it have to stop and rest on a large tree.

Panting heavily, it recalled the golden figure in its mind, and its red pupils could not help but well up with fear. That high-level sub-adult aerial creature... was actually the lord of that group of monkeys... And it wasn’t just an ordinary high-level aerial creature; it was a powerful creature with elemental attacks...

Subsequently, it began to use its eyes to observe the changes in the surrounding mountain forest.

”Squeak, squeak... The concentration of spiritual energy in the air is so low...”

”Squeak, squeak... If I want to evolve quickly... I still need to devour... I must hurry before those guys wake up... and become the king of the Blood Bat clan...”
