Spiritual Energy Revival: Transform Into a Divine Phoenix, Automatically Upgrade

168: Chapter 168 Humans Regress to Their Primal Forms... The Spirit RaceYe Yang gave the people of Jianghai City a dragon blood fruit, treating it as advanced ”labor payment.”

After all, asking Jianghai City to build a massive habitat spanning a hundred miles with such specific conditions for free would be asking too much.

Moreover, to him, the dragon blood fruit was merely a relatively precious but renewable consumable.

”After the people of Jianghai City get the dragon blood fruit, they should be able to research something from it...”

The technological civilization of this world was quite advanced; with human science, they would surely discover something from the dragon blood fruit.

However, replicating the dragon blood fruit would be absolutely impossible.

He knew that the fundamental reason the dragon blood fruit had such an astounding effect on living creatures was that it was the fruit of the dragon blood tree; the vast spiritual energy it contained, along with the trace of dragon blood essence that activated bloodlines and triggered atavism, all originated from the dragon blood tree.

”I wonder what effect it would have if a human consumed a dragon blood fruit...”

Looking at the sole dragon blood fruit hanging high on a branch of the dragon blood tree, Ye Yang fell into deep thought.

Then, the cry of an infant caught Ye Yang’s attention; following the sound, he saw it coming from Monkey King Wukong’s hands.

Ye Yang’s eyes lit up as he remembered the human infant that Monkey King Wukong had adopted.

The human infant was likely a year or two old; perhaps due to the spiritual energy, its eyes looked incredibly lively.

”Wukong, give this dragon blood fruit to this human baby.”

Hearing this, Monkey King Wukong, who was playing with the baby in his palm, didn’t hesitate. He leaped up onto the dragon blood tree and plucked the last remaining dragon blood fruit.

He followed his boss’s words implicitly, and he knew that the dragon blood fruit was good stuff.

With gentle and refined movements, he fed it to the human baby in his palm.

The human infant blinked as it looked at the red dragon blood fruit before it, its body instinctively yearning to consume it.

It wailed and babbled until the dragon blood fruit entered its mouth, only then stopping its shouting.

Monkey King Wukong timely placed the baby, who was eating the dragon blood fruit, onto a rock, his large brownish-yellow pupils watching the infant with some concern.

Ye Yang relaxed his mind and focused his attention on the infant, who wasn’t even as large as one of his golden feathers.

”The vast spiritual energy within the dragon blood fruit is all directed toward activating bloodlines and racial atavism; it should be within this baby’s tolerance.”

A few minutes later.

The swaddle wrapping the baby suddenly jolted!

With a ”shatter,” it was shaken into a pile of fragments. Faint white light patterns appeared all over the baby’s fair skin, densely packed and emitting a subtle glow.

The light patterns vanished quickly, appearing for only a brief moment, like an illusion.

But how could Ye Yang, who was constantly watching the baby, not have noticed this?!

”These white light patterns... they have such an ancient aura...”

”Chirp chirp!”

Not far away, Little White Fox Ah Li, who was lying on a rock holding a phone with her small paws, suddenly felt something was wrong.

She wrinkled her pink nose and muttered to herself.

”Chirp chirp... Strange—how did I feel a familiar aura for a second...”

”Chirp chirp... This aura is so familiar... Where have I seen it before...”

After thinking for a while and failing to recall anything, she shook her head and went back to surfing the internet on her phone.

Recently, many people online had been inexplicably hoping she would take more photos of her Big Brother. What a pipe dream! Was Big Brother’s handsome and heroic posture something you foolish two-legged beasts could covet?

...

After the white light patterns rapidly vanished, a sudden pull of attraction emanated from the naked baby’s body. The surrounding white mist of spiritual energy began to surge into its body...

A minute or two later, the white mist stopped flowing; after all, the baby’s small, weak body couldn’t contain too much spiritual energy.

After finishing the absorption, the baby’s size had visibly increased. It climbed up and sat on the ground like a little bear, its lively eyes scanning the surroundings.

”Has the effect of the dragon blood fruit been fully digested?”

”Detection Spell!”

As a flash of light passed through Ye Yang’s golden pupils, a data panel appeared in his mind.

Race: Spirit Race

Evolution Level: E

Bloodline: Spirit of All Things (Unawakened)

Talent: Spirit Body (Unawakened), ??? (Unawakened)

Mental Power Level: E+

Mental Skills: ??? (Unawakened)

Skills: Spirit Race Breathing Technique (proficient)

When he saw the human baby’s data panel clearly, Ye Yang’s golden pupils suddenly constricted!

He had previously used his Detection Spell on the data panels of the Jianghai City soldiers, and the information he got was very ordinary.

But this baby’s data was anything but ordinary!

Most directly, the evolution level of those Jianghai City soldiers was ”E-,” while this baby’s evolution level was ”E”!

In other words, this baby’s current overall physical condition was stronger than that of a well-trained adult soldier?!

How could this not shock Ye Yang...

”Spirit Race... The ancestors of humans were the Spirit Race?”

Not Primates, but the Spirit Race. These two short words revealed quite a lot of information.

After all, the fundamental source of the global upheaval on Blue Star was the spiritual energy that had abruptly appeared in the air a few months ago.

”If I follow my previous theory about the pyramid of racial atavism... the Spirit Race might not be the only ancestor of humans...”

Because Bear 1 and Bear 2 were so similar in species, yet their atavistic species were worlds apart.

Even for the same species, humans, there would surely be differences in atavism.

Ye Yang was certain that if the people in Jianghai City knew that eating a dragon blood fruit caused one’s race to revert from human to the Spirit Race, they would be far more shocked than he was now.

”It seems that not only does Blue Star have unknown secrets, but even humans hide obscure mysteries...”

This immediately piqued Ye Yang’s curiosity. He really wanted to know what other mysteries lay within the human race, which he had belonged to in his previous life.

However, he knew that as long as he kept getting stronger and continued on this path to the end of evolution, all the hidden dark secrets of the world would be exposed under his golden gaze.

”Mmm mmm... Boss... can you help... name this two-legged beast cub...”

Suddenly, Monkey King walked over holding the baby, lowered his head, and asked softly.

Having constantly learned human knowledge from the phone with Little White Fox Ah Li, he knew the importance of names, so he wanted his most respected boss to help name his little treasure.

Ye Yang lowered his head to meet the baby’s lively eyes. Not only was the baby not afraid, but she also laughed happily.

He wasn’t good at naming, as could be seen from the names of his subordinates like Bear 1.

He glanced at the baby’s physical characteristics.

”This is a female two-legged beast... plus, it was you, a Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, who saved and adopted her...”

”Hmm—let’s call her Hou Lingling.”

Hearing this name, the baby, who had been laughing happily, suddenly closed her eyes in pain and wailed loudly, as if protesting against the name.

Monkey King Wukong nodded, looking at his boss with admiration.

As expected of the boss, the name he gave is so pleasant. Didn’t you see his little baby daughter getting so excited that she cried out in agreement when she heard the name?

PS: Starting tomorrow, I’m letting myself go... The new book project failed, so I can only focus on writing this old one...
