Chapter 378: King of Ghouls and the Wisdom Race Covenant

Purgatory

The Flaming Star rotated slowly in the void of the Dream Realm. Its burning surface rippled with layers of magma, atop which floated the countless phantom shadows of the fallen.

A crack split open across the starʼs surface, transforming into an enormous ravine.

Within this terrifying chasm, which delved deep into the starʼs interior, grew masses of black stone thorns that feared no flame.

Densely packed human figures were embedded in the cliff walls, pierced through by the black stone thorns, while countless more shadows climbed outward from the bottomless depths.

Bodies upon bodies, people pressed against people.

Dense and endless, stretching on with no end.

Beyond lay an infinite expanse of flame, yet they struggled desperately to escape. It was as if something far more terrifying than the agony of burning alive lurked in the depths of that great chasm.

”Please, let me out!”

”It hurts... It hurts so bad.”
”I canʼt take it anymore. Just let me die!”

The wails of countless people converged upon the Flaming Star. They ultimately transformed into a kind of power, which gathered in the depths of this bizarre star and became the Lord of Purgatoryʼs sustenance.

Deep within Purgatoryʼs great chasm, magma flowed endlessly, surging like unrelenting fountains.

A throne cast of metal rested atop the highest of these magma fountains. Upon it sat a figure possessing Godʼs Form.

In its hands, it held a book.

The cliff walls here were likewise covered in black stone thorns, upon which hung the most grievously sinful offenders. They suffered the lashing of flaming whips at every moment.

Curses lingered around the throne, and terrifying shadows wandered beside the Lord of Purgatory.

The Lord of Purgatory lacked the Abyssʼs power to directly observe the mortal realm. After all, he had not yet become a myth.

But he could still sense changes in the mortal world through the cursed, receiving fragmentary information from localized areas.

He was actually somewhat confused.

Why would Suero, knowing full well that he controlled the curse power, still use curses as the core for his own Seal Imprint?

Was this not placing his fate in anotherʼs hands, allowing him to grasp Sueroʼs vital weakness?

But Suero was a thorough madman. His risky behaviors were innumerable.

He pursued the most powerful strength, ceaselessly craving more power at every moment, even if it meant taking poisoned bait.

As long as he felt it could greatly enhance his power, he would swallow it without hesitation, then transform even the poison itself into his own strength.

Thinking this way, nothing seemed strange anymore.

The Lord of Purgatory watched Suero and the events unfolding in Mooneclipse City. His gaze lingered on the cursed ones under his control, those fallen souls teetering on the edge of Purgatory.

He thought, ”If I reclaim the curse upon him and the curses upon so many ghouls and cannibals, the Cannibalʼs Curse should take form.”

”I am one step closer to mythology, but I have no method to become divine.”

”This is a problem.”

The Lord of Purgatory had been waiting all along, patiently anticipating the moment when Suero, this delicious fruit, would finally ripen so he could harvest him.

He knew the Abyss had chosen Suero to become the King of Gluttony, but this did not matter. What he wanted was not Suero, but the curse upon him.

Once the curse power took form, it would not vanish. He was the source of curses.

No matter what Suero became or where he went, the curse power would endure. It would inevitably find its way back to him.

It was only when he saw Suero summon the Door of Original Sin that he suddenly felt something was amiss.

”The Door of Original Sin.”

”What is he trying to do?”

He did not know why, but he suddenly felt an invisible pressure descend upon his heart. The instinctive memory originating from Yafuan detected danger.

He discovered that this fallen one, this cannibal, who never followed the conventional path, repeatedly broke the shackles that bound him and made moves that defied ordinary imagination.

The Lord of Purgatory had thought that was the limit, the peak a mortal could touch.

In this final moment, his opponent once again proved to be beyond his imagination.

The Lord of Purgatory rose from his throne. The entire Flaming Star began to tremble as streams of magma erupted from the starʼs surface.

Flames condensed in the void, and from them, the Lord of Purgatory appeared above the star.

However, the instant he appeared, the Lord of Purgatory discovered another figure already standing on his Flaming Star.

Beside him stood a youth in Godʼs Form, wearing strange attire he had never seen before. The youth wore a hat and carried a staff.

The other had appeared without a sound.

The appearance of this shadow, without any warning, startled the Lord of Purgatory.

The other examined the Lord of Purgatory. His eyes contained a certain gloom and the weight of vicissitudes, yet they gave an impression of profundity.

”Should I call you the Lord of Purgatory?”

”Or Yafuan?”

The Lord of Purgatory felt his hair stand on end. How had the other appeared beside him? If this person had attacked just now, could he have escaped?

He gazed at the other and seemed to see countless symbols, books, and scrolls surging behind him.

The other stood there, the very embodiment of knowledge itself.

This was a deity.

”Who are you?”

He vaguely guessed the otherʼs identity but still asked.

The other did not look at the Lord of Purgatory. Instead, he gazed into the distance, as if foreseeing what was about to happen.

From the moment Suero summoned the Door of Original Sin, he had already guessed Sueroʼs intention. At the same time, he understood the God of Original Sinʼs first layer of planning.

”You are still too immature, not yet fully grown. If you wish to oppose Xiao, you are far from his match.”

”However, you do possess potential.”

”Being able to discover the power of curses shows you have talent. Knowing to lie dormant and develop shows you possess wisdom.”

He turned to look at the Lord of Purgatory.

”Yafuan was initially just an ordinary person, too. But through continuous growth, he ultimately blocked the Disaster of the Evil God with a mortal body and bound the Abyss with the Crown of Wisdom Covenant.”

”This is the charm of the wisdom races. Everyone possesses infinite possibilities.”

The deity spoke to this point, then his words took a turn.

”But first, one must survive.”

”Only then can one strive for those infinite possibilities. Only then can one possess the chance to create miracles.”

Hearing the other say he was too immature and far inferior to the Original Sin Evil God, his prideful self found it difficult to accept.

But he knew the other spoke correctly. He truly was not the God of Original Sinʼs match now.

That was why he had been lying dormant all along. He created the Source of Curses, wanting to use this power to ascend to mythology.

He believed that one day he would grow to heights comparable to the other and face him in a final confrontation.

Yafuan had escaped from the God of Original Sinʼs Abyss and created Purgatory. He was determined to surpass Yafuan.

He would be stronger than him.

He would reclaim the Abyss from the God of Original Sinʼs hands, reclaim the identity of Lord of the Abyss that Yafuan once possessed.

Listening to the otherʼs words and their understanding of Yafuan, the Lord of Purgatory felt a sense of clarity. Though neither his nor Yafuanʼs memories had ever encountered this figure, he was now certain that the deity standing before him was the one Yafuan had once believed in.

”You are the God of Knowledge and Truth!”

”What you said about surviving...”

The Lord of Purgatory paused, then asked, ”What do you mean?”

The God of Knowledge and Truth, Asai, extended his hand, producing a peculiar flask.

The flask was inscribed with dense incantations that formed a perfect closed loop. Even the stopper above was integrated into this loop.

”This is something I forged, the manifestation of my essential power and the laws of my authority.”

”It can seal you inside and help you resist the erosion of mythological power. It will make anyone unable to sense your existence.”

”You will need it shortly.”

The flask was tossed over, falling into the Lord of Purgatoryʼs hands.

The Lord of Purgatory furrowed his brow.

He seemed to want to ask something more, but when he raised his head, the other had already disappeared.

Not far from the Flaming Star, layers of ripples suddenly rose. Intense extraordinary fluctuations spread from them, transmitting into the distance.

From within the ripples, an enormous dark red door appeared.

Buzz~

The Door of Original Sin burst open with a roar.

The doorʼs other end connected to the present world.

And this end connected to Purgatoryʼs coordinates.

The Lord of Purgatory watched the mythological door approaching him. In that moment, he suddenly understood.

He understood what Suero intended to achieve by summoning the Door of Original Sin. He also understood the meaning behind the God of Knowledge and Truthʼs words.

”That mad mortal.”

”Heʼs coming for me.”

The Lord of Purgatory watched as the other used the Cannibalʼs Curse to trace his location and coordinates.

His expression changed dramatically.

He was not afraid of Suero, but Suero was bringing the Door of Original Sin, which meant that fellow was certainly standing behind him.

The Lord of Purgatory knew just how terrifying that fellow was.

However, even if the Lord of Purgatory attempted to migrate his Flaming Star now and used the strange properties of the Dream Realmʼs space to escape into its depths, it would be of no use.

The curse upon Suero and the Source of Curses he controlled were one and the same.

Both sides were like two magnets, constantly attracting each other.

The Lord of Purgatory hesitated for a moment. He abandoned the idea of fleeing because he understood escape was impossible.

Suero had already locked onto him.

The Original Sin Evil God behind Suero had likewise already caught him.

Fleeing was already too late.

He gripped the Book of Xiuborn in one hand and tightly grasped the flask the God of Knowledge and Truth had just given him in the other.

He silently recited a name.

”God of Knowledge and Truth.”

The other had already predicted this very scene before everything began.

He was still very immature compared to the deities of the previous era.

A terrifying black shadow burst forth from inside the opened mythological door, appearing on the Flaming Star in the blink of an eye.

Accompanying the black shadowʼs arrival, a vast voice transmitted through mental fluctuations came from all directions.

”Curse me?”

”Want to make me sink forever in a prison of flames?”

”I have come.”

”Lord of Purgatory!”

Borrowing the power of the Door of Original Sin and the strength of that evil deity, his form had now grown to an unimaginable size.

A black curtain in the sky covered the starʼs exterior, swaying like cloth.

That was Sueroʼs current body. He had covered more than half the Flaming Starʼs sky with his own form.

Suero looked at this Flaming Star.

The first time he realized he was cursed, he had felt an indescribable terror, the kind of fear only a mortal could feel in the presence of the divine.

Now, standing before this ”deity,” his voice rang out with a fervor that barely concealed its mocking tone.

”Thank you for your continuous gifts, your endless bestowal.”

”I have come... to thank you.”

Suero arrived in the blink of an eye and struck the instant he appeared, seemingly wanting to catch the Lord of Purgatory off guard.

A bizarre siphoning phenomenon appeared across the entire Flaming Star.

Tremendous power seeped out from Purgatoryʼs Flaming Star. It surged outward in waves, merging with Sueroʼs form in the sky.

The energy coalesced, building in intensity. It grew until it transformed into a terrifying black storm.

This was Purgatoryʼs Source of Curses. Suero, who had become the cursed shadow, was irresistibly drawn to it.

The Lord of Purgatory sat on his throne, looking at the Door of Original Sin behind Suero and the mythological power surging throughout his body.

His expression shifted, from surprise to complexity, then to calmness.

At this moment, he had steadied himself to face this great enemy.

”Chess piece,” he said, his voice calm yet commanding. ”Come!”

”Let us see who will be reborn from the flames, and who will be consumed within them.”

The Lord of Purgatory had completely understood. He and Suero had been dragged into a divine war.

This was a struggle between the God of Knowledge and Truth and the Original Sin Evil God. Suero, Sukob in Mooneclipse City, and even he himself were all merely chess pieces, interconnected links in the chain of this struggle.

No one could predict who would emerge victorious or what the final outcome might be. Even the two deities were unsure.

These existences, who were merely chess pieces, could not foresee victory or defeat.

They did not even have the chance to choose.

Suero needed to rely on the Door of Original Sin. He had to consume Purgatory in order to grasp even the faintest glimmer of what could scarcely be called hope.

The proud Lord of Purgatory detested this feeling of having his fate arranged by others, but at this moment he clutched Asaiʼs flask tightly. He knew it might become his final thread of opportunity.

They had no room to retreat, nor room to choose.

Failure was death. Retreat was also death.

The Lord of Purgatory on his throne waved his hand. Countless flaming whips on the Flaming Star danced upward as layers of flames burned, reaching toward the sky.

The essence of the Cannibalʼs Curse transformed into a pale shadow lunging toward the sky.

”Cannibalʼs Curse.”

”Devour him.”

The Lord of Purgatory and the Cannibalʼs Curse, commanding the Source of Curses, clashed with Sueroʼs shadow in the sky. They devoured each other relentlessly, each seeking to overpower the other.

Endless darkness intertwined in the sky, continuously strangling and devouring one another.

Both sides wanted to devour the other to perfect their own curses.

Both sides continuously attracted and plundered from each other, producing an intense tug of war.

At first, the Lord of Purgatory held the upper hand, effortlessly controlling Suero. However, with the power of the Door of Original Sin, Suero turned the tables and completely overwhelmed the Lord of Purgatory.

The Door of Original Sin pressed down continuously.

The Flaming Starʼs power continuously receded. Even the Cannibalʼs Curse began to weaken, gradually losing ground in the struggle with Suero.

Finally, Suero devoured the Cannibalʼs Curse entirely, merging it seamlessly with the Plague Blood Curse within his own body.

Suero wolfed down the pale shadow of the Cannibalʼs Curse like a starving beast, making terrifying chewing sounds in the sky.

His stomach emitted thunderous roars.

He was exceptionally agitated at this moment, continuously roaring.

”Source of Curses,” Suero declared with a sinister grin. ”It belongs to me now!”

Hahahahaha.

The terrifying black humanoid demonic shadow gazed at the Flaming Star with bizarre eyes.

”Lord of Purgatory, youʼre finished.”

Suero had devoured the Lord of Purgatoryʼs Source of Curses. At this moment, he was the Cannibalʼs Curse.

The Lord of Purgatory was severely injured.

Purgatory was likewise stripped of a powerful ability.

However, the true body of the Source of Curses, the core it truly bore, was the Book of Xiuborn the Lord of Purgatory held in his hands. The Cannibalʼs Curse was merely one curse born from and recorded upon it.

This book recording the deitiesʼ secrets, this tome of the previous eraʼs mythology.

It was the origin of all curses, the revelation that allowed Suero to discover the curseʼs secrets.

At this moment, the Lord of Purgatory sensed the true crisis of death.

Suero was no longer just Suero. Standing behind him now was the God of Original Sin.

The Lord of Purgatory had no chance. Even if he could temporarily resist Suero, the Original Sin Evil God would undoubtedly have other contingencies to reclaim Purgatory.

Although the Original Sin Evil God could not leave the Abyss or move freely, he used Suero, this madman and vessel, to methodically bring his plans to fruition.

On the throne, the Lord of Purgatory endured the intense pain. The agony of the Door of Original Sin forcefully stripping the Cannibalʼs Curse from his body was almost unbearable.

He clenched his fists tightly, his mind racing as he tried to think about what to do next.

But the more he thought, the more despair began to consume him.

”Itʼs useless.”

”Struggling is useless. Defeating Suero is useless. Behind him is still the God of Original Sin.”

”He has seized this opportunity and will certainly not let me go.”

Various thoughts and strategies flashed through the Lord of Purgatoryʼs mind, but none proved useful.

His power was not enough. When the Abyss Evil God had not yet caught him, he could manage. Once caught, he was completely powerless.

This was also why he was so eager to become a myth.

The Lord of Purgatory looked at the Door of Original Sin.

”I am still far from being his match.”

”Not just in power, but in other aspects, too.”

After Suero devoured the pale cursed incarnation, he became even more powerful.

He himself had transformed into the perfected Cannibalʼs Curse, while Purgatory had been weakened to a certain degree.

He gazed covetously at the Flaming Star that was Purgatory, his eyes full of desire.

”Lord of Purgatory, you cannot escape!”

”Today I will certainly... certainly devour you!”

He would use a mortal body to complete the feat of devouring a ”deity.”

Though this ”deity” seemed somewhat off.

Suero opened his mouth. The Gluttony Stomach activated.

With the Door of Original Sinʼs enhancement, the gluttony power created a soul-shaking black hole in the sky, stirring up violent storms and devouring everything around it that could be devoured.

Suero aimed directly at Purgatory, aimed at this Flaming Star.

He prepared to swallow the entire Flaming Star whole.

The Lord of Purgatory controlled the Flaming Star to continuously resist, even fleeing toward the other end of the Dream Realm, but that black shadow continuously coiled around the Flaming Star.

The devouring power intensified, pulling the Flaming Star closer and closer to the gaping maw. The Lord of Purgatory struggled with all his might, desperately attempting to flee, but the relentless force continued to drag him toward the inevitable end.

The Lord of Purgatory seemed to give up resisting.

He stood before the throne, raising his head to look at that terrifying black hole.

He allowed the Flaming Star to be devoured by Suero, swallowed by the mythologically enhanced Gluttony Stomach.

Gulp!

With a swallowing sound that penetrated the darkness, the Flaming Star disappeared.

Sueroʼs cursed black shadow body erupted with a brilliant light. In his abdomen, it seemed as though a sun had ignited.

The flames roared with intensity, burning fiercely like an energy furnace that endlessly supplied Suero with power.

The Law of Gluttony activated, seizing Purgatoryʼs power and beginning to merge with it.

At this moment, Suero felt his power climbing higher and higher, seemingly without limit. It was as if mythology itself was the ultimate destination.

Within the Gluttony Stomach, enhanced by mythological power, the space inside seemed to transform into an illusory realm.

Naturally, it could only hold supernatural items imbued with spirituality and Divine Blood. The entirety of Purgatory and the Flaming Star was a single supernatural item, a unified supernatural artifact.

The Lord of Purgatory on the Flaming Star faced the mythological power pressing in from all directions. The Law of Gluttony was continuously devouring and melting him.

Between life and death, he ultimately looked at the flask in his hands.

He was unwilling to bow to others, much less trust them.

But he also understood that the enemy of oneʼs enemy was a friend. In this regard, the God of Knowledge and Truth clearly had no desire to see the God of Original Sin easily devour Purgatory.

Finally, he activated the patterns on the flask. A powerful force surged outward, wrapping around him completely and sealing him inside.

He disappeared from atop the Flaming Star, seemingly vanishing without a trace.

Only a flask remained, falling downward, dropping onto the Flaming Star.

Asaiʼs voice rang in the Lord of Purgatoryʼs mind.

”He cannot devour you anymore. You are safe now.”

”Now, you need to wait for an opportunity.”

”When your only chance comes, you will be able to devour him in turn.”

The God of Knowledge and Truth, Asai, said to the Lord of Purgatory, ”You may even use this opportunity to ascend to mythology.”

The seal Sukob arranged over there was merely the surface layer. This layer was the true killing move.

When Asai learned that Purgatory was the God of Original Sinʼs objective, this plan was already set.

In the dark void, Suero, now transformed into the dark cursed shadow, felt the surge of boundless power coursing through him. At the same time, he noticed the faint traces of the Lord of Purgatoryʼs consciousness fading away into nothingness.

Suero believed the other had died under the devouring of mythological gluttony power, becoming part of his own strength.

Suero had finally devoured this existence that had made him fearful for so many years.

At this moment, he felt an incomparable exhilaration.

Hahahahahaha!

”Dead!”

”Seems not so impressive after all, does it?”

”These lofty fellows, these fellows looking down on the mortal realm.”

The Four-Part Secret Technique with Godʼs Grace Stones of the Path of Wisdom allowed mythical artifacts to retain both wisdom and consciousness, qualifying them as true mythical artifacts. However, some artifacts, while reaching mythologyʼs threshold and possessing mythological power, still lacked wisdom.

Having devoured Purgatory, Suero was now heading in this direction.

He laughed wildly, expressing contempt for the existence he once feared.

He sensed his own power.

He sensed his cursed body and Purgatory gradually merging into one.

He felt himself growing increasingly hungry, as if the more he ate, the hungrier he became.

And the hungrier he became, the more he wanted to devour everything.

The desire of gluttony was without end.

As this immense power surged within him, Sueroʼs spirit became increasingly unstable, and he started to lose his grip on rationality.

Even having the Gluttony Stomach help him digest those mad wills was useless. This rate of power growth was already approaching the limit. Only the Four-Part Secret Technique with Godʼs Grace Stones could resolve this drawback.

”Hungry! So hungry!”

”Devour, devour... devour everything.”

”Not enough... This still isnʼt enough.”

Sueroʼs consciousness was instantly filled with the desire of gluttony. He roared in the void, looking around like a monster.

But in the void of the Dream Realm, there was nothing.

After a long while, he finally calmed down.

Sueroʼs emotions also gradually stabilized. Having lost his snake-person form and become a cursed shadow, he finally looked at himself.

”Look at this. How powerful I have become!”

Hehehehe~

He knew he was about to become a curse that possessed mythological power but was driven only by gluttony.

This time would come quickly.

Perhaps in a few hours, perhaps half a day.

But Suero felt no fear at this moment. When he made the choice to summon the Door of Original Sin, he had already known this outcome.

But he still chose this.

The black shadow raised its head. ”Now, it is time to begin the final step.”

He would return to the present world, then enter the Abyss.

He would begin his final plan to release his boundless gluttonous desire within the Abyss.

Perhaps by that time he would no longer be himself, but the plan would be achieved, and that no longer mattered.

The Door of Original Sin opened, revealing Mooneclipse City in the present world.

Suero was like an enormous, dark, wandering soul, pouring into that giant door and stuffing himself through to the other side of the present world.

Dawn had not yet broken.

Mist shrouded Mooneclipse City. Nothing could be seen.

Suero returned from the Dream Realm.

The Suero who returned was not the same one who had just left.

His form now blotted out the sky and sun. The instant he appeared, he enveloped all of Mooneclipse City in darkness.

In such a short time, Sueroʼs power had grown dramatically, racing wildly down the path of madness.

Having devoured Purgatory, he had now reached the very edge of mythologyʼs boundary.

Simultaneously, he also stood at the boundary where consciousness would completely degenerate into gluttonous desire and the Cannibal Curse Spirit.

The black shadow descended upon the mortal realm, accompanied by the Door of Original Sin.

Suero did not see the Door of Truth and believed its master had thought he fled, withdrawing its power. This was also what he had planned.

”They should have left.”

Suero prepared to open the Door of Original Sin again to directly enter the Abyss.

Suero had no intention of making an Abyss Covenant or becoming an Abyss King.

Become some Abyss King?

He wanted to become an Abyss God.

”Now, time to enter the Abyss.”

The black shadow writhed. The stars disappeared.

However, in the instant after his descent, Apostle Sukobʼs voice came from deep within the mist.

A brilliant light dispersed the fog, and the light of truth shone upon the Door of Original Sin and Suero.

The darkness was pierced and torn. A circular brand appeared upon the earth.

”Truth Seal.”

In an instant, the earth thundered.

Rumble!

Dense chains extended from within the earth.

The Door of Truth, which had been standing upon the ground, now shifted its position to the sky.

It faced downward toward the earth.

Its alignment was parallel with the ground, directly above Mooneclipse City.

Buzz~

The Door of Truth, facing the earth from the sky, opened. It connected with the chains and merged with that circular brand upon the ground.

Suero raised his head, looking at the Door of Truth in the sky.

He wanted to do something.

But it was already too late.

When he left, Sukob had already known he would return and had long prepared this very scene.

How could they possibly let him escape again?

The entire world vanished into a sheet of white light.

Suero lost all sensation of the outside. Even the Door of Original Sin could no longer open a passage to the Dream Realm.

”Not good!”

”They knew I would return.”

As his words fell, Sueroʼs vision was consumed by a blank whiteness. Everything around him vanished, and he could not see a thing.

He seemed unable to even sense his own body and power.

This was the Truth Seal, severing an existenceʼs sensation of all information.

All sensory perception was severed, including mental, conscious, and spiritual sensation.

Even if a deity fell within it, they would have difficulty breaking free in a short time.

It appeared that the scales of victory had tipped toward Apostle Sukobʼs side, grasped in the hands of the God of Knowledge and Truth, Asai.

The Sea of Clouds Illusion, the Kingdom of the God of Knowledge

The God of Knowledge and Truth and Ghost Polik stood at the kingdomʼs edge, gazing at the mortal realm.

They watched that terrifying cursed shadow and the Door of Original Sin be suppressed together, slowly sealed by the Truth Seal.

Ghost Polik asked, ”Do you think He will be sealed?”

The God of Knowledge and Truth, Asai, replied, ”We will see how he handles it.”

”Xiao is not easy to deal with,” Asai added with a faint smile, ”but neither am I.”

Asai placed one hand on his staff, leaning his bodyʼs center of gravity to one side as he leisurely watched the mortal realm.

”Letʼs watch.”

”We will see whether he is stronger, or I am stronger.”

Within the Abyss

At the skeletal long table, Xiao toyed with his notes, a light laugh escaping his cold expression.

The Truth Sealʼs attempt to seal his Door of Original Sin finally caused Xiaoʼs expression to show a trace of fluctuation.

”Heh.”

He set down the notes, as if responding to the God of Knowledge and Truth.

”Then come.”

The Original Sin Evil God looked at his toy, the ceramic figurine.

”Go.”

”It is time for Suero to make his oath.”

The ceramic figurine at the tableʼs corner watched this calculation and struggle between the God of Knowledge and Truth and the God of Original Sin, equally excited.

It stood on the God of Original Sinʼs table, as if feeling it too had become a part of the God of Original Sin, Xiao.

It felt it was together with the god, controlling and manipulating othersʼ fates, together arranging this chess game.

It spoke with high-pitched, excited emotion.

”God, this fellow Suero is simply being played in the palm of your hand!”

”Asai is nothing much either. One seal to deal with you, God?”

It stated decisively.

”Impossible!”

”Heʼs delusional!”

Xiao did not become happy because of its words but looked down with cold eyes.

The ceramic figurineʼs words stopped abruptly.

It dared not speak further, immediately obeying the divine oracle to execute the next step of the plan.

The God of Original Sin made another move at this moment, shifting the scales of victory once more and making the situation ambiguous again.

Devouring Purgatory was merely the first step in Xiaoʼs plan. The covenant experiment was the most important link, or rather the most important element.

Within Mooneclipse City

Like a blind person, Suero tried various methods but could not escape the Truth Seal.

He and the Door of Original Sin were being sealed into the Door of Truth, steadily drawn upward toward the sky.

At this moment, the ceramic figurineʼs voice suddenly broke through the seal. It was as if it appeared directly from within his body, entering his consciousness.

”Make the oath.”

”The oath can break the Truth Seal, as long as you can draw the Crownʼs attention.”

”King of Ghouls, if you succeed, God will receive you into the Abyss to become the great Abyss King.”

”Suero, you have done well.”

”Rejoice. Be grateful. God is watching you.”

The ceramic figurineʼs voice gradually faded. ”Go offer God a magnificent spectacle.”

The Truth Seal was extremely powerful, even able to seal mythology.

However, it could not completely sever a wisdom raceʼs connection with the Crown of Wisdom.

It could not fully break the bond that all wisdom beings share with their source.

Suero hesitated for a moment.

He originally prepared to abandon this step, yet did not expect to ultimately circle back to it.

In this instant, Suero suddenly felt somewhat confused.

He was confused about whether everything that had unfolded was truly his plan or someone elseʼs design.

He wondered whether the one who arranged all this was him or someone else.

In the end, he still followed the ceramic figurineʼs words. He made the Crown of Wisdom Covenant according to the original plan.

Having reached this step, there was no other path left.

”With the identity of King of Ghouls, with the will of the master of the Cannibalʼs Curse.”

”To the supreme Crown of Wisdom, I make an eternal covenant.”

”To the supreme will of wisdom, the Crown that governs all wisdom races, I make an oath.”

The voice transmitted through endless cycles.

In Mooneclipse City and its outskirts, the remaining ghouls stirred. Even those under Akmanmonʼs control, who had long since left, felt the same pull.

They all heard the oath of the King of Ghouls, Suero, resonate within them.

”Supreme will that shelters and guides all wisdom races!”

”Please answer my prayer.”

The oath echoed through the boundless void, cutting across the starry sea of clouds and reaching toward the Godʼs Moon in the distance.

The God of Original Sin had finally revealed his true plan.

Devouring the Lord of Purgatory was merely a surface-level calculation. Making the Crown of Wisdom Covenant was his true objective.
