Chapter 73: The Dream World

“Buzz~”

The heavy metal doors of the temple opened fully, and Yin Shen’s ethereal figure stepped out.

The flames held by the Trilobite Man statues on either side of the steps outside lit up one by one, extending down from the top of the pyramid, their golden radiance illuminating the entire path.

Yin Shen looked up.

He gazed at the world outside.

This was no longer the ocean of reality, but a realm where the illusory and the real intertwined.

The island of the God-Given Land was no longer close to the sea, but floating in an unknown void, like a completely suspended giant island.

By Yin Shen’s side was the Dream Spirit Hila. She followed the god step by step down the pyramid.

Yin Shen arrived at the edge of the God-Given Land and took out the dream artifact, the Divine Cup.

The rust and stains on the Divine Cup peeled away bit by bit, gradually revealing the exquisite and luxurious patterns of the sun and starlight.
Yin Shen held it up.

Suddenly, the Divine Cup erupted with a radiance like the sun.

The light enveloped Yin Shen, so dazzling that the Dream Spirit couldn’t help but lift her robe to shield her eyes. Then, that intense light gradually covered the sea of Sun Cup Flowers and the God-Descended City.

Finally, it shone upon the pyramid temple.

The entire God-Given Land was once again bathed in sunlight, transforming from darkness to daylight.

The sun slowly detached from Yin Shen’s hand and rose into the sky of the dream world.

Light covered the entire dream world, and the color of the sky turned azure with the rising of the sun, clear as crystal.

The dream world had completely stabilized. As long as the Divine Cup remained unbroken, this realm of dreams could exist eternally.

“Polo,” Yin Shen said with a smile.

“You truly are the sun!”

But the Dream Spirit could hear no laughter in his words, only a sense of wistfulness.

The composition of the dream world was very peculiar.

If you called it illusory, the life here—the sea of Sun Cup Flowers, the island of the God-Given Land, the pyramid temple—could all be considered real.

If you called it real, the other things in this realm were all illusory, and even this realm itself could be considered illusory.

The real and the false intertwined. The real could become false, and the illusory could become real here.

The Dream Spirit Hila looked at Yin Shen and asked, “God, what should we do next?”

“The power of the dream world doesn’t appear out of nowhere. If we don’t let the Dream Spirits leave the divine realm and allow the Trilobite Men to grasp the power of dreams…”

“Without the support of the Trilobite Men’s memories, it will be difficult for this dream world to become stronger.”

Yin Shen shook his head and told the Dream Spirit that there was another way to achieve this.

Although slower, it could also be done.

“Dreams do not belong to any one person. Every being with wisdom can have their own dreams.”

“Dreams are born from wisdom, and wisdom also becomes the garden of dreams.”

Yin Shen extended his left hand and removed the Crown of Wisdom from his right middle finger.

“Ding!”

The ring spun with a flick of his finger, constantly enlarging.

The crown emitted a cold, silver radiance, finally transforming into a moon before Yin Shen and the spirit.

The dream sun in the sky faded away, and the moon slowly climbed into the sky.

The originally azure sky became deep and profound due to the moonlight.

The two divine artifacts of wisdom and dreams supported the entire dream world.

“The sun and moon of dreams.”

“Then next should be the stars.”

Yin Shen pointed a finger towards the sky.

As his fingertip pointed, true stars radiating light appeared in the deep night sky, guarding the moon above.

The stars adorned the sky and also decorated this world of dreams.

The Dream Spirit exclaimed, “They are the dreams of the Trilobite Men.”

Enlarging each star, one could see that each was a dream of a Trilobite Man.

Through the power of the Crown of Wisdom, the dream world was thus connected to the dreams of all Trilobite Men. Whenever they dreamed, a faint starlight would shine in the sky of the dream world.

But when they awoke, this dream could not be taken away, forever left in this world.

It was precisely because of this that all Trilobite Men would feel their dreams were so real, but upon waking, they would often forget their memories in the dream, feeling only a blur.

That was because the memories of their dreams had already become nourishment to strengthen the dream world.

Hila cheered for the god’s idea and revered the wisdom with which he had foreseen everything.

“This is wonderful,” she said.

“This way, as long as the Trilobite Men exist, the dream world will continue to grow stronger.”

The dream world was thus divided into three layers.

The dreams of mortals formed the endless sea of stars in the sky.

The dream bubbles were the dream eggs of the Dream Spirits. As soon as they were born, they would open an illusory door between the dream starry sea and the deep dream world, which was also the entrance from the real world to the dream world.

Dream fragments evolved from dream bubbles after devouring a certain amount of memories and dreams, causing a portion of real existence to fall into the dream world, becoming a dream fragment straddling the illusory and the real.

The current God-Given Land, for example, was a huge dream fragment.

—

In the sea of Sun Cup Flowers.

The Dream Spirit Hila was sitting in the center of the flowers, telling stories to a group of young Dream Spirits. Suddenly, one of the young spirits asked Hila a question.

“Lady Hila,” it said, its voice soft and curious.

“What is the world of the Trilobite Men like? Have you been to their world?”

The Dream Spirit Hila smiled and said to them, “Although I haven’t been to the world of the Trilobite Men, I can take you to see what their world is like.”

Hila’s robe bulged out at an angle, pulling the Dream Spirit who had spoken, and she floated up with it.

One Dream Spirit after another held hands, gathering into a circle, spinning as they headed towards the sky of the dream world.

“Look,” Hila said, pointing at the myriad lights. “This is the world of the Trilobite Men.”

The myriad dream stardust, each revealing scenes from the realms of the Trilobite Men.

This dream stardust included both newly born dreams and very old ones.

The Dream Spirits frolicked and wandered in the sea of stardust, eyes wide open, looking at the dreams of the Trilobite Men.

“They don’t have metal in their world?” asked a Dream Spirit with a beautiful metal pendant hanging from its chest.

“They don’t have pretty scarves like us? They can’t make beautiful hats?” A Dream Spirit wearing a scarf and hat looked at the world of the Trilobite Men from its perspective.

“They can’t use fire?” A Dream Spirit holding a lantern also noticed the differences it saw.

The Dream Spirit Hila told them, “These are all blessings from God, divine objects we obtained from the dream of God.”

Walking among the starry sea, Hila suddenly saw a colorful bubble.

A dream completely different from the others, a magnificent and beautiful dream belonging to a Dream Spirit.

The scene in the dream was actually the temple of the God, and herself from two or three hundred years ago, that naive self.

This was a dream she had once had, a fragment of her own memory.

Even today, she would still often dream of it.

The innocent Dream Spirit stood at the feet of God and told Them the name she had just chosen.

God asked her, “Hope?”

“Why choose this name?”

The Dream Spirit replied, “I like this word, and I hope that my birth can bring hope and light to this world.”

“Just as God has brought wisdom and life to this world.”
