Chapter 71: The Secret Left by the Poet

At the foot of the Sacred Mountain, countless people gazed into the distance. Having already heard the news, they were waiting for the return of a certain individual.

When a travel-worn group appeared at the edge of the barren land, the crowd immediately became excited and rushed forward.

They welcomed the group’s arrival from afar. Only when the group passed did the crowd make way, kneeling on either side.

They kissed the ground, reciting the Redlichia Covenant.

Throughout the entire process, no one spoke loudly. Only the sound of devout prayers could be heard.

The scene had a peculiar tranquility.

The blind poet Tito was among the group’s escorts, holding the Redlichia Covenant stone tablet in his hands.

The escorts surrounding Tito and the Covenant tablet stopped at the foot of the Sacred Mountain, allowing Tito to ascend the path to the Sky Temple alone.

The poet stepped onto the first stair and looked up.

His psychic power couldn’t explore the scene above, but the image of this place had already emerged in his memory.
There stood the majestic God-Servant City and the towering temple, with the blue sky as a backdrop and white clouds swirling around.

The poet felt incomparably at ease, even letting out a long sigh while saying in his heart,

“Ah!”

“I’ve finally returned.”

The pilgrimage steps were lined with guards holding long spears. The ranks stood on either side, all the way to the God-Servant City at the highest point. They knelt on one knee, hands clasped before their chests.

The Star Luo Kingdom had arranged a grand ceremony and ritual to welcome the poet returning from the God-Given Land and the arrival of the Redlichia Covenant stone tablet.

The poet ascended step by step.

He entered the God-Servant City, and all the servants of God knelt devoutly.

He entered the Sky Temple, and even the queen and priests bowed their heads on either side.

He placed the broken Covenant tablet in the Sky Temple, along with his completed 《Hymn of the King of Wisdom》.

They would become the sacred relics of the Sky Temple, passed down through generations.

As the poet set down the sacred objects and turned around, the priests kneeling on the ground rose one by one.

The queen of the Star Luo Kingdom, who was also the high priestess of the Sky Temple, walked up to him holding a scepter and blessed him.

“Glory be upon you. This was a grand journey. Everyone will remember your achievements. You and your epic will be immortal.”

She looked at Tito and asked, “What do you desire?”

Tito shook his head. “There’s no need, Your Majesty.”

“What I wanted, I have already obtained on this journey.”

“I only hope that the 《Hymn of the King of Wisdom》 will spread far and wide, and that everyone will sing this epic.”

“I wish for all the children of the Yinsai to know where we came from and why we exist.”

He continued, his voice filled with emotion, “I hope that everyone will remember our glory and the blessings and strength bestowed upon us by the gods.”

The Star Luo Queen said, “This great epic, the legend of the Yinsai and King Redlichia, will undoubtedly be passed down forever in the Yinsai kingdom and the world.”

The poet nodded, then bid farewell to the queen and those priests who had once been high above him.

Without even the thought of participating in the banquet and celebrations, he went straight home.

At home, his elderly father sat on a stone bench, gazing outside. Hearing the commotion outside, he immediately stood up in excitement, then sat back down, pretending to be calm.

However, Tito’s psychic power saw everything.

Tito could imagine how many days and nights his father had looked forward to his return like this.

Tito’s eyes instantly brimmed with hot tears. “Father!”

The aged father stood up and looked at Tito, his hand tracing the scars on Tito’s face. “You’ve finally returned.”

“It seems you have suffered much.”

Tito nodded. “Father, you were right.”

“When I fell into the abyss, when I faced death and the loss of everything.”

“How ridiculous it was for me to say I wouldn’t regret it.”

The young poet smiled at his father and said, “I regretted it then. I even cursed and wailed, showing my ugly side.”

The elderly father replied, “But you emerged from the hardships and accomplished this impossible feat.”

The poet stood up and embraced his father.

The sun’s rays shone in through the door, the light and shadows shifting as the sun moved.

Then the moon appeared outside the window, and the city went from noisy and clamorous to quiet.

The sun and moon revolved, cycle after cycle.

The furnishings in the room changed several times.

The poet went from calling others father to his children calling him father.

The poet leaned over his desk, once again writing something on a bone tablet with his carving knife.

This was not an epic, but a record of his experiences on that journey.

He had written epics, written legends, written about heroes.

Finally, he wrote a story that belonged to him.

The story contained the brutal lord of the Sal Domain, the wise Old Stone Helm, the king of the Abyss Kingdom, as well as the God-Given Land filled with Sun Cup Flowers and the splendid, sacred temple enveloped by dreams.

In the story, he wrote down a secret he had never mentioned to anyone else.

The purpose of his journey was not only to seek the God-Given Land but also to escort the divine artifact, the Divine Cup.

A dozen or so thin bone tablets were strung together. On the front, he wrote two words.

《Tito’s Travelogue》

He carefully placed it on a shelf filled with bone and stone tablets.

At this moment, children came rushing in from outside, making a ruckus. They came before Tito.

“Father, tell us your story!” they pleaded.

Tito casually picked up a child and sat down in front of the table.

“Hmm~”

“Then let me tell you about the most beautiful creature your father has ever seen!”

“Legend has it that there is a unique lifeform with a divine countenance.”

“In the temple of the gods, the messengers of God are spirits called Dream Spirits.”

“They possess dream-like, miraculous powers and can conjure the things you desire from dreams.”

The children’s eyes widened, and they exclaimed one after another, “They can conjure anything you want?”

Tito nodded. “Of course.”

“They can conjure anything you want. They are the messengers of God, after all.”

The children asked, “Then how can we find the Dream Spirits? I also want to conjure the things from my dreams.”

The poet stood up, holding a child, while the other children followed his steps.

“The Dream Spirits also have names, their true names.”

“When you dream, if you call out their true names, perhaps you will be able to see them.”

“Haven’t you heard the legend of Polo, the Messenger of God?”

“When the Star Queen called out the name of Polo, the Messenger of God descended.”

The children clamored around the poet, asking, “Then how can we know the names of the Dream Spirits?”

Tito didn’t answer.

His gaze was fixed on the Sun Cup Flower blooming in the flowerpot in the corner of the wall. It was a precious item bestowed by the queen.

The poet suddenly recalled the scene of seeing Polo, the Messenger of God, in the sea of flowers, and then he smiled—

As the stars shifted and time passed, after the great poet Tito, who had once reached the temple of the gods, passed away, a legend began to circulate among the Yinsai people.

Some said that the poet Tito not only obtained the Redlichia Covenant stone tablet from the God-Given Land but also something more precious.

He knew a secret about the God-Given Land, an earth-shattering secret.

Some said that the great poet hid everything in a mural.

Some said that the great poet concealed the secret in one of his poems.

Others said it was an unpublished manuscript, a travelogue recording the poet’s journey to the God-Given Land.

Whoever could find the secret left behind by the great poet would receive an unimaginable reward.

It was a power that could overturn an era.

A power that could pioneer the future.
