I Started by Worshipping the Wrong Peak. It Turns Out That I am Invincible Just by Refining Pills?

5: Methods to improve your aptitude!“Please, Host, quickly improve your Alchemy level and go to the Alchemist Association to complete the First-Grade Pill Refiner assessment!”

“Upon completion of the mission, you will receive a 10,000-fold return once!”

In the room, just as Lin Yan was immersed in the joy of his skyrocketing cultivation, the System’s familiar voice echoed in his mind again.

“Completing the First-Grade Pill Refiner assessment will grant me a chance for a 10,000-fold return?”

A slight smile appeared on Lin Yan’s face. Having already experienced a surge in his cultivation once, he naturally knew the Heaven-Defying nature of this 10,000-fold return.

Immediately, Lin Yan did not hesitate. He left the room at once, carrying the token that symbolized his status as a Personal Disciple, and headed towards the Resource Hall.

The Body Tempering Pill he had refined before could, at most, only be considered an entry-level Medicinal Pill. Therefore, if he wanted to complete the First-Grade Pill Refiner assessment, he would at least need to be able to refine a First-Grade Qi Refining Pill!

In front of the Resource Hall, seeing the bustling crowd, a look of surprise immediately appeared on Lin Yan’s face. He had not expected the Resource Hall to have so many people.

Of course, not all of these people came to collect Materials for Alchemy. Most of them either took on foraging missions from the Resource Hall or exchanged the spiritual Materials they had acquired during their outdoor training for the Spirit Stones they needed here.

In this way, the Resource Hall could form a virtuous cycle amidst the terrifying consumption of the many outer Sect Disciples.

Lin Yan did not linger. He directly entered the Resource Hall, took out his token, and spoke to an Elder in charge at the counter.

“Please help me retrieve five sets of Qi Refining Pill Materials, three sets of Qi Blood Powder Materials, and an additional three sets of Great Strength Pill Materials.”

When the Elder in charge took Lin Yan’s token, his originally lazy eyes widened slightly in surprise.

“Are you Lin Yan, the Alchemy Genius Elder Fang recently took in?”

Lin Yan did not deny it, nodding with a faint smile.

“Haha, Elder, you flatter me. This Disciple merely understands a little about Alchemy.”

Hearing Lin Yan’s humble words, the Elder in charge also immediately showed a smile and said,

“Being overly modest is not good. Perfect-grade Medicinal Pills are not something just anyone can refine.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the Elder in charge immediately handed a Storage Pouch to Lin Yan.

“In the future, if you need anything, feel free to come to me. As long as it’s within my authority, I will satisfy all your needs!”

For such an Alchemy Prodigy, it was best to establish a connection as early as possible.

Lin Yan took the Storage Pouch, expressed his gratitude, and then immediately turned and left.

After returning to his room, Lin Yan went directly into the Pill Refining Room and then began to draw Earth Fire to refine pills.

Since his current cultivation was only at the third level of Qi Refining, and he did not possess Dan Fire, Lin Yan could only rely on the Sect’s Pill Refining Room to refine Medicinal Pills.

“Refining pills by relying on the Pill Refining Room like this isn’t a long-term solution. It seems I either need to raise my cultivation to the Foundation Establishment Stage and use Dao Fire for Alchemy, or subdue a Dan Fire.”

After shaking his head slightly, Lin Yan immediately put all the Materials needed for the Qi Refining Pill into the drawn Earth Fire, and then began to control the Earth Fire to purify the medicinal ingredients.

After a quarter of an hour of melting and purifying, all the spiritual Materials for the Qi Refining Pill had been transformed into several portions of pure medicinal liquid of different colors.

Whoosh!

After completing this step, Lin Yan directly put all these medicinal liquids into the Pill Furnace, then drew out stronger Earth Fire, and began to roast and fuse the medicinal liquids inside the Pill Furnace!

Pill Condensation!

This was an extremely crucial step. Any mistake would not only render all previous efforts futile but also waste the medicinal ingredients.

Therefore, under Lin Yan’s focused roasting, half an hour later, several types of medicinal liquids finally fused together and gradually began to form the embryonic shape of the Medicinal Pill.

What needed to be done next was the final step: Pill Formation!

Pill Formation was equally important. The final quality of the Medicinal Pill depended on whether this step was performed perfectly enough.

However, with Lin Yan’s experience as an Alchemy Great Master, refining this Qi Refining Pill naturally went very smoothly.

Finally, after an hour of Pill Formation, unique pill fragrances wafted out from the Pill Furnace.

Lin Yan dispersed the Earth Fire and looked at the three Qi Refining Pills lying quietly in the Pill Furnace, a smile appearing on his face.

“Ding! Host has refined three low-grade Qi Refining Pills. Ten-fold return successful. Obtained three Intermediate Qi Refining Pills!”

“Ding! Congratulations, Host, for refining three Intermediate Qi Refining Pills. You have received a one-year cultivation reward!”

Whew!

Hearing the familiar voice in his mind, Lin Yan let out a long breath with a smile.

As a warm current flowed through his entire body, Lin Yan immediately felt his cultivation increase, rising from the original third level of Qi Refining to an infinitely close to the fourth level of Qi Refining.

But regarding this result, Lin Yan’s brows furrowed tightly, and he felt extremely dissatisfied in his heart.

“One year, and I haven’t even advanced one level of cultivation?!”

Lin Yan shook his head. Such talent and aptitude would not do.

“If I continue with my current aptitude and talent, even with the 10,000-fold return, the improvement effect won’t be significant.”

“Moreover, the further I go, the more difficult it will be to improve my cultivation!”

“It seems I must find a way to improve my aptitude and talent.”

Lin Yan frowned slightly. With a thought, he immediately stopped his Alchemy work, left the room, and headed straight for Elder Fang’s residence.

He intended to ask his Revered Master, Elder Fang, if there were any Medicinal Pills or spiritual Materials that could improve a Cultivator’s aptitude and talent.

“Revered Master!”

As soon as Lin Yan entered the main hall where Elder Fang resided, he saw the latter refining a batch of Medicinal Pills. And, judging by the fluctuations emanating from the Pill Furnace, the grade of this batch of Medicinal Pills was probably no lower than fourth-grade!

At the same time, Lin Yan also noticed that standing beside the main hall were a man and a woman. Looking at their focused expressions, he immediately guessed their identities: his Senior Brother and Senior Sister, whom he had not yet met.

“Junior Brother Lin Yan, come over here!”

However, just as Lin Yan was momentarily dazed, a soft call came from the front. Looking over, he found it was his Senior Sister beckoning him.

“Senior Sister, you know me?”

After coming over to his Senior Sister’s side, Lin Yan asked with a surprised expression.

“Hehe, Junior Brother, you are now a celebrity in our entire Pill Hall!”

“Refining a perfect-grade entry-level Medicinal Pill on your first attempt caused quite a stir.”

“You don’t know, there are many Body Refining Stage Disciples now who want you to help them refine perfect-grade Body Tempering Pills.”

A smile appeared on Liu Mei’s face as she carefully observed Lin Yan, completely familiar and at ease.

After hearing Senior Sister Liu Mei’s words, Lin Yan’s heart was also slightly surprised, but he did not want to continue on this topic, so he asked,

“What kind of Medicinal Pill is our Revered Master refining?”

“Nascent Soul Pill!”

Liu Mei immediately replied and explained,

“The Sect’s higher-ups seem to have sensed that a major change will occur in the Great Yan Dynasty in the near future.”

“Therefore, in order to ensure the Sect’s preservation during that upheaval, Revered Master has no choice but to refine Nascent Soul Pills day and night to produce a Nascent Soul Stage Expert for our Qingyun Sect.”

Boom!

However, just as Liu Mei was explaining to Lin Yan, a slight rumble suddenly came from the center of the main hall.

Immediately, all three of them looked forward and instantly saw Elder Fang’s worried expression.

“Alas, I have failed again!”

Elder Fang’s face was filled with worry. It seemed that with his Alchemy level, refining a Nascent Soul Pill was extremely difficult.

“Revered Master!”

Seeing this, Lin Yan and the other two immediately stepped forward, casting concerned glances.

Elder Fang shook his head slightly. Upon seeing Lin Yan’s figure, he immediately swept away his previous gloom, and a look of pleasant surprise appeared on his face, as if he had seen hope.

“Lin Yan, why are you here? Have you encountered any difficulties in Alchemy?”

Lin Yan shook his head and said,

“This Disciple came here to ask Revered Master if there are any Medicinal Pills or spiritual Materials that can improve aptitude and talent?”

After his words fell, Lin Yan showed an embarrassed expression, and with the help of the System, he displayed his cultivation at the third level of Body Refining.

Elder Fang immediately understood Lin Yan’s meaning upon seeing this, but he frowned slightly and said,

“Medicinal Pills or spiritual Materials that improve aptitude and talent? Such precious things are hard to find, not just in our Qingyun Sect, but probably in the entire Northern Region.”

Hearing this, Lin Yan showed a hint of disappointment, but just as he was about to give up, Elder Fang added,

“Perhaps there is a relatively easier-to-obtain spiritual Material that can temporarily substitute them, but its effect is extremely weak!”
