Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1433: Chapter 1427 Setting the Wedding Date_1 Chapter 1433: Chapter 1427 Setting the Wedding Date_1 For the couple about to get married, Ding Xi felt that the fact that Li Rong agreed to marry him was the greatest joy of his life.

No matter when, he espoused the belief that if a man married a woman, he should treat her well. After all, for a woman to leave her familiar home and marry a stranger, to integrate into his family was no easy feat, and if he doesn’t treat her well, then the man does not deserve to be happy.

This was what Ding Xi really wanted to express to Li Rong. He had truly fallen in love with her, and he would never be mean to her.

“Why do you look so worn out today?” Ding Xi had never seen her exhibit such an expression since they met.

“Today we had a case of a young woman who had a miscarriage. She’s quite young, and her womb was left damaged. I don’t know how she’ll live the rest of her life. It upsets me how the younger generation doesn’t take care of their health. Men profit, but women bear the hardships. Still, many girls fail to understand this.” Li Rong thought of Jing Yuan’s situation. She didn’t seem like someone from a disadvantaged family background, so why did she undertake such actions?

“Rong’er, I don’t care about what others do, but I promise I will never be like that. A slap can’t be heard without a response. It’s their choice how others live their lives. We, as outsiders, can only advise to an extent. We can’t control others, so please don’t worry too much.” To Ding Xi’s surprise, his fiancée harbored such sentiments. Perhaps witnessing all the pain and suffering in her job as a doctor was why she was so hesitant about marriage.

Ding Xi trusted that if he hadn’t pursued Li Rong so persistently, she wouldn’t have agreed to marry him at this point. In the beginning, Li Rong was content with the idea of settling for someone she found decent looking if she couldn’t find love. However, Ding Xi had ardently pursued her from the moment they met. To be honest, Ding Xi currently couldn’t tell if Li Rong loved him, but he knew for certain that he wanted to be with her.

“Mmm, I understand.I just can’t help but feel sad when I see such situations. Have you been filling up all your time recently?” Li Rong asked Ding Xi.

“I’ve been a bit busy, why?” Ding Xi didn’t say he was free. Their jobs were demanding, leaving them without time to spend at home, and thus he didn’t want to make promises to Li Rong that he couldn’t keep.

“I would like for you to accompany me on a visit to my parents.” Since their engagement, due to their demanding jobs, they hadn’t found the time to meet. With their wedding nearing, they should at least sit down and discuss the details.

“When?” Ding Xi adjusted his schedule so that he could make time.

“I have a shift the day after tomorrow, any other time when you are free.” Li Rong informed Ding Xi of her shift to prevent a situation where he took leave but she wasn’t available.

“Right, I’ll arrange it. Are you off work now? Let’s go grab a meal.” The reason Ding Xi had come to see Li Rong at this hour was to take her out for dinner, hoping to spend some quality time. This idea came from Qin Xue, who suggested that he should ask Li Rong out frequently to cultivate their relationship.

“Alright, wait for a moment. I’ll change my clothes.” Li Rong has a resting room here, which comes in handy during her shifts.

“Okay.” Ding Xi was naturally cheerful, and Li Rong, on the other hand, could be overly serious at times. Therefore, their respective dispositions complemented each other.
