Chapter 1160: Chapter 1154: Eating Hot Pot_1 Chapter 1160: Chapter 1154: Eating Hot Pot_1 “Sure, we are waiting for you and mom,” Qin Jiale responded to his father.

“Next time, don’t wait for us. If you’re hungry, go ahead and eat,” Qin Lei said, looking at the darkening sky with a hint of heartache.

“No worries, Mom and Dad. How about trying the fried sugar rice we made?” Qin Xue placed another portion of the prepared dish in front of her parents for them to taste.

Because they had more experience and a wider range of food knowledge, their judgment would be the best.

“This is good. Did you come up with this new recipe?” Qin Lei tasted it and asked.

“Sort of. I saw others make it,” Qin Xue nodded. This was something she learned in the future. She was unsure whether it would count as stealing other people’s hard work.

Anyway, it was a snack her grandmother often made when she was a kid.

She liked it, but ever since she grew up and started studying abroad, and her deadbeat dad took her away, she barely had it. Now, she made it because her younger sister wanted it.

“Great. Foster your creativity, it’s a good thing. Now, let’s eat, you can continue making this after dinner,” Qin Lei observed them without feeling it was a waste of rice or sugar. Instead, he encouraged them to make more.

“Ok! Dad, where have you and mom been? You came back so late,” Qin Xue arranged the sugar rice and then led them into the living room for dinner.

“Your Fifth Auntie’s cattle gave birth, so we went to check on it and help out,” Nangong Shulan answered her daughter’s question.

“Is it born yet?” Qin Jiale asked his parents, wondering if they could bring some cow’s milk back to make a cake.

He missed it last time and didn’t know how it was done. Now he wanted to learn how to do it himself.

As a foodie, of course, it’s better to learn to do it himself. So, he could make it anytime he likes. Otherwise, he couldn’t eat it after his sister left.

“Yes, it must have been born. Otherwise, how come we returned so early?” Nangong Shulan nodded in confirmation.

“Okay,” Qin Jiale responded, yet no one knew what he was really thinking.

“Why the variation in dishes today?” Nangong Shulan asked looking at the food on the table.

“Just feeling a bit picky,” Qin Xue thought of the soup base brewed for half-day, which tasted rich.

“Alright, you’re free to try making anything you like, as long as it doesn’t put our guests off,” Qin Lei never opposed to his children experimenting with new recipes. After all, the food would eventually be eaten.

He was only worried that the guests might not get used to the taste.

“No, it won’t. You don’t even know, I made this because they said they wanted to eat it,” Qin Xue thought about it. Because everyone liked it, that’s why she made it. Besides, having hot pot wouldn’t be impolite.

Many people in her previous life would invite friends over for hot pots.

“If everyone likes it, then let’s not just stand there. Let’s eat,” Nangong Shulan held her grandson in her arms and told everyone.

“Grandpa and grandma, do you want spicy or non-spicy?” Qin Xue asked the two elders.

“I’ll have the non-spicy,” The old lady glanced at the two dishes on the table and replied.

“Well, those who don’t want spicy sit here, those who want spicy sit there,” Qin Xue pointed to the two tables. Eating the spicy one would be very satisfying.

“Okay,” Everyone decided according to their preference.

In the end, among the elders, only the elderly lady sat at the non-spicy table. Then, Fang Xiu, with Jingtao, along with Nangong Shulan and Lin Cuiping, holding Yu Ze and Yu Chen, sat there as well.

“Wow, this is quite an experience!” Qin Yun ate a bite and then started sweating from the spiciness. But he found it extremely satisfying.
