Global Grave Digging: My Reward Increased Ten Thousand Times

57: 9000 points”Boss, your Blink skill is truly too useful.” Xu Sanduo said enviously.

”Go to the next beacon.”

The flow of the day-night cycle in this world was just like in some games; an hour ago it was still daytime, and an hour later it became night.

Another hour later, the sun would rise again.

Outside the bank, the sky had completely darkened.

It was as if an invisible giant hand had suddenly wiped away the last trace of light from the sky.

The streetlights in the town flickered eerily.

They emitted a ghastly pale light, stretching the shadows of the streets and buildings until they looked like ghosts.

From the darkness in the distance, more manic and dense zombie roars began to rise one after another!

【Warning: Sunset has arrived, the virus has begun to mutate completely!】

【Some players have converted to the Infected faction, please be on guard!】

【Under the cover of night, the movement speed, attack power, and sensory capabilities of all Infected (including native zombies) will be significantly increased!】

【Current Faction: Human (55) : Zombie (45)】

The cold System notification sound rang in everyone’s mind.

”The mutation has begun! There are so many people in the Zombie faction!” Lin Mengzi said with a grave tone.

Lin Fei: ”I estimate it was all caused by killing each other.”

”We need to hurry to the next beacon point, the museum.”

”Let’s go!”

The four of them quickly left the bank and returned to the street.

The atmosphere of the town under the cover of night suddenly became oppressive and dangerous.

In the dark corners, it felt as if something could pounce out at any moment.

Those native zombies, which were originally slow-moving, had become unusually active, their speed had increased significantly, and their roars were filled with madness.

Xu Zhengyang found a pickup truck.

He drove the four of them speeding towards the museum.

Before they even approached the museum, intense gunfire and explosions could already be heard from afar.

”The fighting ahead is fierce!” Xu Zhengyang turned the steering wheel, parking the car behind a relatively safe street corner bunker.

Lin Mengzi immediately sent out a Ghost Dog to scout the path.

A squad dressed in full camouflage.

They were backing against the stone pillars of the museum gate, struggling to fend off the siege of seven or eight zombie-like players!

Compared to ordinary zombies, these players were clearly more intelligent and coordinated.

Those zombie players had skin with an unnatural, ashen color, and black veins crawling across their faces.

Their eyes flashed with red light, their movements were unusually swift, and they charged without fear of death.

They indeed didn’t need to fear death, because if they died, they could just wait a while and respawn nearby.

One of the tall, burly men had infected quite a few players.

He had already completed his evolution.

His muscles were knotted, and his arms had mutated into sharp bone blades; every swing brought a whistling wind, forcing those few human players into a panic.

Another female Infected kept spitting out green corrosive venom from her mouth, restricting the movement of the human players.

”They are Infected turned from players!” Lin Mengzi immediately deduced, ”They have their eyes on the beacon inside the museum!”

”Boss, should we save them or not?” Xu Zhengyang looked at Lin Fei.

Those human players were clearly unable to hold on much longer; one person’s arm had been slashed by a bone blade, and their movements had obviously slowed down.

”Save them, at the very least we must ensure the survival of ten people in the Human faction.” Lin Fei did not hesitate at all.

Before his words had even finished, he had already pushed the door open and gotten out of the car.

At the same time the order was given, Lin Fei’s figure had already rushed out like a ghost!

”Piercing Bone Spear!”

Lin Mengzi waved her staff, and several pale bone spears whistled out, as if they had eyes.

They precisely blocked all the evasion routes of that female Infected, forcing her to retreat in a sorry state and stop spitting venom.

”Gunfire Gatling!”

Xu Zhengyang gave a low roar, and his arms were instantly covered in a layer of metallic gauntlets flowing with firelight; the gun barrels at the front of the gauntlets began to rotate at high speed!

Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!!!

An explosion of terrifying fire rate comparable to a Gatling gun erupted, and countless burning bullets formed a barrage of death, instantly enveloping that burly bone-blade man!

”Awooo!”

The burly bone-blade man let out a painful roar, being forced to retreat step by step as bursts of blood exploded on his body.

”There’s another human squad?”

”Hehe, if I infect all eight of these people, I can evolve again!” said the bone-blade zombie who was clearly the leader.

He slammed into the wall, quickly raising his hands to block the Gatling fire with his bone blades.

Beside him, two zombies with their hands bound and witchcraft symbols carved all over their bodies kept activating skills to heal him.

Green plus signs appeared on his body, and the health points that had been depleted by Xu Zhengyang’s skill bombardment rose back up again.

”Captain, eight people, that should be enough for you to evolve into a Twin-Wing Terminator, right!”

”It’s enough!” the bone-blade leader said with great joy.

”Hmph.”

Lin Fei smiled faintly.

He raised his hand and pointed.

A small ice-blue arrow whistled away.

It was an unassuming Icy Arrow.

But in an instant, it pierced through the bone-blade zombie’s defense, impaled his body, and instantly killed him.

”What!”

”Th-this! How is this possible?”

The bone-blade zombie was already dead, and his body disappeared.

His teammates were immediately shocked.

By relying on ambushing people, they had killed over a dozen players before they had even mutated.

After being infected.

Their captain had immediately evolved into a powerful bone-blade zombie.

The result was that he was instantly killed by that Ice-type mage player?

”Could this be a one-hit kill cheat?”

Swish, swish, swish!

Lin Fei raised his hands and fired at the other seven zombies.

They had no way to escape and were all instantly killed by Lin Fei.

In just a few seconds, the battle was over.

”Thank you! Thank you all for your help!”

The four surviving human players had escaped death, and looking at the Mount Buzhou Squad, who had solved the enemy like Heavenly Gods descending, their faces were filled with shock and gratitude.

The bearded man in the lead walked forward and cupped his hands: ”I am ’Gale’, captain of the Storm Squad, and these are my team members. This debt of saving our lives will never be forgotten!”

Lin Fei waved his hand, his gaze turning towards the interior of the museum: ”The beacon belongs to our squad; you can search for other treasures.”

”Thank you!”

Everyone entered the museum, and in an exhibition hall on the second floor, they indeed found the second energy beacon.

Xu Sanduo stepped forward to activate it, and a green pillar of light shot into the sky.

【The Human faction has successfully activated the second energy beacon!】

【The base attributes of all Human faction players have increased by another 20%!】

【’Mount Buzhou Squad’ has gained 1000 points!】

【’Storm Squad’ (assisting in defense) has gained 100 points!】

”There are even assist points!” Captain Gale said with an surprised expression.

Seeing the point reward, Lin Fei was even more certain of his idea.

He turned to Lin Mengzi and said: ”Sister. The Pyramid needs three beacons to open, so it should be soon. You go search over at the Pyramid, and while you’re at it, see if there are any good things. Zheng Yang, San Duo, and I will continue to activate the remaining beacons; we’ll take as many points as we can get.”

”Alright.” Lin Mengzi understood Lin Fei’s meaning; acting alone was not a big problem for her, as her undead army was sufficient to handle most situations.

Moreover, regardless of which faction ultimately achieved victory, the loot boxes obtained would be calculated based on point contribution.

It was just like playing the Delta battlefield mode; your enemies were not necessarily your enemies.

Your true competitors might be your teammates.

If a teammate’s point ranking was higher than yours, then at settlement, they would gain ladder points, while you would lose points.

As for winning or losing, the impact was actually not as important as your ranking within the team.

”You all be careful.”

”Rest assured.”

Lin Mengzi summoned her main fighters, such as the Undead Crocodile Demon and the Undead Infant, found a motorcycle, and headed alone towards the direction of the Pyramid in the desert.

As for Lin Fei, he took Xu Zhengyang and Xu Sanduo, got into the pickup truck, and began a crazy journey of ”lighting the lamps.”

The Storm Squad also drove their car, following them the whole way.

【The Zombie faction has successfully activated the third energy beacon!】

【The Pyramid entrance has been opened!】

【...】

For the next three hours, Xu Zhengyang fully utilized his driving skills, driving the pickup truck at high speed, shuttling between the town and the edge of the desert.

Now, there was a great battle between humans and zombies inside the Pyramid.

And outside, they were also competing for beacons.

Because every beacon could strengthen their own team’s attributes by 20%.

【The Human faction has successfully activated the twelfth energy beacon!】

【The base attributes of all Human faction players have increased by 20%!】

【’Mount Buzhou Squad’ has gained 1000 points! Current points: 9000.】

When the last green pillar of light shot into the sky.

The players on the map had become somewhat numb to the System notification sounds.

Xu Zhengyang parked the pickup truck on a sand dune, wiped his sweat, looked at the brightly lit Pyramid entrance in the distance, and clicked his tongue: ”Boss, this is too crazy! Out of twelve beacons, we took nine! With these points, even if the humans lose in the end, we’ll still be making a huge profit!”

Lin Fei leaned against the car door, looking in the direction of the Pyramid, his lips curling up.

Nine thousand points; the rewards at that time would definitely not be bad.
