Global Grave Digging: My Reward Increased Ten Thousand Times

52: Wings of Liberty Chapter! Thousand Wings!”Lin Fei, did you open it?” Li Wuxuan asked, his eyes filled with anticipation as he saw Lin Fei walk out empty-handed.

Lin Mengzi followed closely by Lin Fei’s side.

”Yeah, it’s open, Uncle Li.” Lin Fei nodded. ”Thanks for making the trip.”

Li Wuxuan waved his hand, then adjusted his glasses and said,

”Sigh, the new era is here, a much crueler era.” He looked up at the starry sky.

”Have you heard about what happened at the Node Tower plaza today? Black Hand, Blood Flag, the Crusaders—these major guilds in the Lower District are already impatient to establish their new order. Laws? Rules? In the face of absolute power, they have all become empty words.”

”Indeed!” Lin Fei sighed.

Li Wuxuan, an idealist, spoke with a deep sense of helplessness.

”I’ve been a lawyer for half my life, believing in procedural justice and the dignity of the law. But now it seems that path is no longer viable. Still, this old bag of bones wants to do something, at least to fight for a little space for survival for those like us in the Zhou Shan Orphanage who are powerless to resist, and to hold onto a basic bottom line of being human.”

Li Wuxuan looked at Lin Fei, his gaze becoming fervent: ”This isn’t just my own idea. Lin Fei, there is an organization whose philosophy aligns perfectly with mine. They believe that power should be used to protect the weak, not to bully and plunder. They are also looking for like-minded people who possess sufficient strength.”

Lin Fei understood; it turned out Uncle Li wasn’t just a messenger; he had already made contact with, and even joined, this organization.

”So, Uncle Li,” Lin Fei looked at him, his eyes sharp, ”are you trying to invite me to join Free Wings?”

Li Wuxuan’s eyes lit up. It seemed the things given to Lin Fei from above contained some information about the organization!

His tone was earnest. ”This isn’t a demand, just an invitation. I know you have your own ideas and strength, but having an extra choice and extra support is always good. As for the Free Wings headquarters, I’m sorry, I don’t have the ability to invite you to join that. I am also in a branch. Free Wings operates in secrecy, but I believe their goals are just.”

Lin Fei didn’t hesitate. His second sister, Shi Jin, was in it; that reason alone was enough.

Moreover, Li Wuxuan’s words touched something deep within him.

He believed in strength, but he never believed that having power meant one should trample on innocent people at will. He, Lin Fei, only killed those who deserved to die.

”I’ll join.” Lin Fei answered decisively.

”Me too.” Lin Mengzi nodded from the side, expressing her support.

A look of joy flashed in Li Wuxuan’s eyes. He took out a strangely shaped badge, resembling a metallic feather, from his pocket and handed it to Lin Fei.

”This is the token for joining ’Thousand Wings.’ Thousand Wings is a branch established by Free Wings in the Luo Country region. It is responsible for executing missions and recruiting members. You two just need to focus your Mental Energy on it to complete the registration.”

Lin Fei took the badge; it felt cold to the touch. He focused his mind, and the badge emitted a soft glow.

Almost simultaneously, a new message popped up on Lin Fei’s System interface.

【You have successfully joined the guild: Thousand Wings (Free Wings Branch).】

【You have become the 698th member of the Thousand Wings Guild.】

【Guild Trait: Anonymous (All members are displayed as numbers in the guild channel and task list; no one can investigate your identity except for the headquarters Guild Master and the headquarters Guild Master’s assistant). Mission-oriented; joining this guild does not prevent you from joining other guilds.】

【You have unlocked the Guild Mission System; you can view and accept missions at any time in the guild interface.】

【You have unlocked the Guild Store.】

【Accumulate contribution points to increase your authority level.】

”The interior of the Thousand Wings Guild is completely anonymous; this is to protect the safety of all members,” Li Wuxuan explained from the side. ”It’s just like a guild in an online game.”

”You can accept missions, earn killing coins and contribution points, exchange them for resources, or even accumulate contribution points to gain further support from the organization. The difficulty and rewards of missions vary, and they are not mandatory.”

”Additionally, the stealth capabilities of Thousand Wings are very high. Even if someone can view your personal information, they won’t be able to see that you have joined this guild.”

”You can rest assured about this,” Li Wuxuan said.

Lin Fei moved his thoughts and opened the guild mission interface. The mission list was long, scrolling through various tasks. Many of them were issued by the headquarters. Members of the branch could also accept some of the missions issued by the top headquarters.

【Mission: Collect activity intelligence on ’Butcher’ Zhang San, a high-level member of the Black Hand Guild. Reward: 30 contribution points, 2,000 killing coins.】

【Mission: Destroy the Blood Flag Guild’s supply warehouse located in the West Harbor District. Reward: 500 contribution points, 50,000 killing coins.】

【Mission: Investigate the Blue Flag Country garrison stronghold. Reward: 80 contribution points, 8,000 killing coins.】

Lin Fei’s gaze scanned quickly, and soon, his eyes rested on a few special missions.

【Mission: Assassinate ’Black Hand’ Zhang Bin, the Guild Master of the Black Hand Guild. Reward: 2,000 contribution points, 300,000 killing coins, specified Rare-grade Materials x1.】

【Mission: Assassinate ’Blood Butcher’ Li Da, the Guild Master of the Blood Flag Guild. Reward: 2,500 contribution points, 300,000 killing coins, specified Purple-grade equipment x1.】

【Mission: Assassinate the ’Judge,’ Guild Master of the Crusaders. Reward: 2,000 contribution points, 300,000 killing coins, Skill Experience Book (200,000) x1.】

【Mission: Assassinate Colonel David, the liaison officer of the Blue Flag Country garrison. Reward: 6,000 contribution points, 700,000 killing coins, specified Super Rare-grade class equipment x1.】

The rewards for these missions were exceptionally generous, but the difficulty was also marked as extremely high. A cold arc curled at the corner of Lin Fei’s mouth. These names were exactly the targets he wanted to eliminate.

Subsequently, Li Wuxuan stated that another guild association he belonged to had already taken control of the area around the Zhou Shan Orphanage. Lin Fei and Lin Mengzi did not need to worry about the safety of the orphanage for the time being. In addition to his hidden identity as a member of the Thousand Wings Guild, Li Wuxuan was also currently the Guild Master of a small guild called the Sunshine Association.

”Then, Uncle Li, when I go for trials and can’t look after the orphanage, please take care of things.”

”It’s no trouble at all; this is what I should do.”

Li Wuxuan chatted a bit more with Lin Fei about the current situation in New Jeju, then turned and got into his car to leave.

Lin Fei thought for a moment. He had some attachment to the Luo Country and had hated the invaders who messed up the Luo Country since he was a child. Blue Flag Country, this super-hegemonic nation, had a large number of colonies in many countries across all continents of the world. And Free Wings, which his sister had joined, was fighting against them. ’I should help my second sister out too.’

Thinking this, Lin Fei turned around and his gaze fell on Xu Zhengyang, Li Feng, and Zhao Gang. These three were all former top-tier scouts. It was only because they were by Lin Fei’s side that they didn’t seem as strong, but in reality, they were all extremely talented individuals.

”Zheng Yang, San Duo, Li Shun.”

”I’m giving you a mission.”

The three immediately straightened up, looking at Lin Fei with focused expressions. Having followed Lin Fei, Xu Zhengyang had already obtained a Purple-grade class, and they were all convinced that this boss, Lin Fei, was worth following.

”I want the hiding locations of Black Hand Guild Master Zhang Bin, Blood Flag Guild Master Li Da, the ’Judge’ of the Crusaders, and Colonel David, the liaison officer of the Blue Flag Country garrison.”

A cold light flickered in Lin Fei’s eyes. ”Their activity patterns and where they stay. Investigate them for me; the more detailed, the better.”

”You are professionals, so you should understand the risks involved. The targets are not ordinary people, especially that Colonel David, who must be heavily guarded. Do you have any problems?”

Xu Zhengyang stepped forward, his confidence soaring after just obtaining a Purple-grade class. ”Don’t worry, Boss! I guarantee we’ll complete the mission! We three brothers might not have other skills, but when it comes to stealth and reconnaissance, we are absolutely experts!”

Xu Sanduo also said, ”The three of us executed even more difficult missions back in the Far East; leave it to us, Boss!”

Li Shun also nodded vigorously.

”Good,” Lin Fei nodded. ”Stay safe. I’ll wait for your news.”

”Yes!” The three accepted the order, without a moment of hesitation, and immediately turned and left the orphanage. They blended into the night and began to execute the mission.
