Ultimate Series, Past Lives Revealed

42: Xia Yu was an emperor in his previous life.Xia Xiong stormed over to Ye Siren, and a ”bloody storm” seemed imminent.

However, this did not affect the normal playback of the heavenly screen in the slightest.

At this very moment, people from the Twelve Time Spaces were staring intently at the heavenly screen, filled with anticipation, eager to see the story of Xia Yu’s past life.

[Xia Lan Xing De Yu’s past life was perhaps the life countless men dreamt of—he was an Emperor of ancient times!]

[Within his harem, beauties were as numerous as clouds, a full three thousand in total. Yet even so, this monarch who possessed the world was still filled with endless loneliness and solitude deep in his heart. It was because, in this vast and boundless empire, he had never been able to find a true soulmate who truly understood him.]

[”Wow, you money-grubber, you were actually an Emperor!” Iron Time-Space’s Xia Mei couldn’t help exclaiming in amazement.]

[Summer, standing beside her, also nodded repeatedly in agreement: ”Yeah, bro, you’re so amazing!”]

[Xia Yu, however, glared at the two of them irritably and anxiously shouted: You two idiots! Dad’s about to get taken down by Mom, and you still have the mind to watch this stuff!]

[Silver Time-Space Zhang Fei: asked with a confused expression: ”Why’s that, Summer?”]

[Silver Time-Space Guan Yu hurriedly reached out to stop Zhang Fei, softly admonishing: Fei, that’s someone else’s family matter, it’s not proper for us to inquire.]

[Zhang Fei nodded, seeming to understand but not fully, and replied: Oh!]

[On the heavenly screen, a scene began to slowly play out. A man of unparalleled handsomeness, dressed in bright yellow dragon robes, sat upon a glittering golden throne, emanating an Aura of majesty that made one dare not look directly at him.]

[Gold Time-Space Wang Dadong: Looks pretty handsome!]

[Gold Time-Space Wang Yase: Arrogant One, are you jealous?]

[Gold Time-Space Wang Dadong: Don’t talk nonsense, Narcissist, I am not!]

[In the resplendent and magnificent great hall, seated upon the lofty dragon throne was the current Emperor, named Ouyang Yu. He frowned slightly, his gaze coldly sweeping over the ministers standing below. The matters these officials reported daily were almost all monotonous, uninspired nonsense, which gradually bred a sense of impatience in the Emperor’s heart.]

[Copper Time-Space: That Aura... if I were facing it, my legs would definitely go weak.]

[Silver Time-Space Zhang Fei: What’s so scary about that!]

[Just then, an elderly minister, advanced in years but still vigorous, keenly noticed the irritation showing on the Emperor’s face. He quickly stepped forward, bowed respectfully, and said: ”Your Majesty, this old minister has a matter to report.”]

[Silver Time Space Xiao Qiao: So old and still attending court, how pitiful!]

[Gold Time-Space Sister Sha: This is ancient times, isn’t that normal?]

[Ouyang Yu slightly raised his eyes and uttered a single word expressionlessly: ”Speak.”]

[Iron Time-Space A Kou: That look! Perfection!]

[Iron Time Space Jiu Wu: A Kou, want to try mine!!]

[Iron Time-Space A Kou: No, no, primary school classmate!]

[The elderly minister hurriedly responded: ”Reporting to Your Majesty, regarding the Salt Smuggling Case in the Jiangnan region, it has now been transferred to the Ministry of Justice for handling.”]

[Upon hearing the words ”Ministry of Justice,” Ouyang Yu’s eyes instantly sharpened, looking directly towards where the Minister of Justice stood.]

[The Minister of Justice, feeling the gaze from above, tensed up and hurriedly stepped out of the ranks, cupping his hands in response: ”Your humble servant is here.”]

[Ouyang Yu commanded sternly: ”We give you half a month to thoroughly investigate who is privately selling official salt! If you fail to uncover the truth by the deadline, We will not be lenient!”]

[Gold Time-Space Wang Yase: Half a month is too short, isn’t it?]

[Gold Time-Space Hao Jiaqi: Is half a month still short?]

[Gold Time-Space Heartbreak Man: Ancient transportation and information transmission were the most primitive. Jiangnan is in the south, and the Emperor was generally in the north. Do you think half a month is enough?]

[Gold Time-Space Hao Jiaqi: Truly, being close to the Emperor is like being close to a tiger!]

[Faced with such a tight deadline and arduous task, the Minister of Justice couldn’t help but show a troubled expression, but the Emperor’s command could not be disobeyed. He could only brace himself and accept: ”Your humble servant obeys the decree. I will spare no effort to fulfill the mission without disgracing it!”]

[Ouyang Yu slightly raised his right hand and gave a look to the personal eunuch beside him. The eunuch understood immediately, stepped forward, and loudly announced: ”Those with matters to report, step forward. If none, court is dismissed!”]

[As soon as the words fell, the assembled ministers below bowed uniformly in salute, shouting in unison: ”Long live the Emperor, ten thousand, ten thousand, ten thousand years!” Then they filed out one by one, exiting the court in an orderly manner.]

[After everyone had left, Ouyang Yu rose from the dragon throne and returned to his own palace with steady steps. The palace maids had already prepared the meal. He sat down casually, hastily ate a few bites of food, and then had the table cleared. Immediately after, he sat at his desk, where a mountain of memorials awaited his review and approval one by one.]

[Unconsciously, a day had passed. Ouyang Yu had only managed a hasty bite in between and continued the repetitive action of reviewing memorials!]

[Copper Time-Space Xiao Feng: It seems being a leader isn’t easy; you have to do so much work.]

[Gold Time-Space Jin Baosan: Maybe he ended up dying from overwork.]

[As dusk fell, Ouyang Yu, utterly exhausted, casually picked up a memorial and began to read. After just a few lines, his face gradually darkened. He couldn’t help but slam the table and curse under his breath: ”These useless fools, such trivial matters actually dare to trouble Us!” Saying this, he fiercely threw the memorial in his hand onto the ground.]

[Iron Time-Space: The eunuch beside him was so scared he didn’t dare lift his head, wishing he could make himself invisible.]

[Illusion Time-Space: I’d be like that too. With that kind of temper flare-up and that Aura present, how could one not be afraid? An Emperor, the living King of Hell who controls life and death!]

[He picked up another memorial, skimmed through it quickly, and became even more furious, gnashing his teeth: ”And these daily greeting memorials, do they have nothing to do all day? We are burdened with state affairs every day, busy beyond measure, while they have such leisure!”]

[Iron Time Space Jiu Wu: If anyone sent me a bunch of these useless greeting memorials, piling work on me, I’d definitely find a bunch of things for them to do and then beat them up!]

[Iron Time-Space Huyan Jue Luo Xiu: Alliance Leader, don’t worry, I wouldn’t!]

[Iron Time-Space A Kou: You definitely wouldn’t, you’d wish you could do more?]

[At this moment, Eunuch Li, who was standing by attending, was as silent as a cicada in winter, not daring to make a sound. Because he knew well that whenever the Emperor reviewed memorials, he would always get enraged by these annoying matters. Although the Emperor had repeatedly advised those old ministers, they remained unchanged, doing as they pleased. No wonder the Emperor was so angry.]

[Just then, a faint sound of footsteps came from outside the hall. It was the Eunuch from the Office of Imperial Affairs coming to report. Eunuch Li, as if granted amnesty, hurriedly went out to meet him. After exchanging a few words, he hastily returned to the hall.]

[Eunuch Li cautiously approached Ouyang Yu and said softly: ”Your Majesty, the time has come.”]

[Gold Time-Space Jin Baosan: Hehe, I know what that is!]

[Gold Time Dimension Sister Sha: Jin Baosan, stop being so perverted!]

[Ouyang Yu, who was buried in annotating memorials, stopped writing at the sound. He reached out and rubbed his tightly furrowed brow, saying with a hint of fatigue: ’Bring it in.’]

[Silver Time Dimension Sun Ce: It seems being an ancient Emperor isn’t easy either. These kinds of things are all pre-arranged.]

[Eunuch Li gave a slight nod, gestured towards the door, and called out softly: ’Summon the Eunuch from the Office of Imperial Affairs to the hall.’]

[As soon as the words fell, a slightly plump, fair-faced Eunuch from the Office of Imperial Affairs hurried into the hall with small, quick steps. Upon seeing Ouyang Yu seated upon the Dragon Throne, the eunuch immediately knelt on both knees and respectfully proclaimed: ’Your humble servant pays respects to Your Majesty! May Your Majesty live ten thousand, ten thousand years!’ Simultaneously, he carefully raised the tray in his hands high. On it were neatly arranged exquisitely carved wooden plaques, each inscribed with the name of a consort from the imperial harem.]

[Gold Time Dimension Jin Baosan: I want to flip the plaques too, oh!]

[Iron Time Dimension Ren Chenwen: Me too!]

[Iron Time Dimension Xia Mei: You two are really disgusting! Especially you, Ren Chenwen, I’ll electrocute you next time!]

[Ouyang Yu casually reached out and gently flipped through the plaques on the tray. After a moment, he stopped and plucked one from among the many.]

[Gold Time Dimension Hao Jiaqi: Suddenly I feel he’s so pitiful. He can’t even choose who he likes.]

[Eunuch Li, who had been closely watching Ouyang Yu’s movements, hurriedly stepped forward, took a close look, and then spoke: ’Your Majesty, the plaque you have selected is for Consort Rou.’]

[Hearing this name, Ouyang Yu’s face showed little expression. After all, there were many women in the harem, and he found it difficult to remember each one’s name and appearance. Which consort he would favor tonight seemed to make little difference to him.]

[Silver Time Dimension Sun Shangxiang: Looking at his actions, he seems very unwilling. Then why bother flipping the plaque!]

[Copper Time Dimension Xiong Ya: Ancient Emperors prioritized heirs, emphasizing many sons bringing many blessings. Moreover, for an Emperor, if there were no children, those old ministers would surely keep pushing people into the palace.]

[Seeing the Emperor had finished selecting the plaque, the Eunuch from the Office of Imperial Affairs immediately kowtowed again in salute, then slowly rose and retreated from the hall with a bowed back. Once outside the door, he swiftly ordered his subordinates to go to Consort Rou’s palace to inform her to make all necessary preparations for serving the Emperor.]

[Ouyang Yu paid no mind to these tedious matters. He merely said indifferently: ’Prepare the imperial carriage, we go to Consort Rou’s palace.’ Having said this, he stood up and, surrounded by a crowd of palace maids and eunuchs, walked towards Consort Rou’s bedchamber.]

[Ouyang Yu stepped into Consort Rou’s palace with steady strides. His face instantly adopted an amiable and kind smile, but if one looked closely, they could see no trace of genuine joy in his eyes. He slightly raised his hand and said softly: ’My beloved consort, please rise quickly.’]

[Iron Time Dimension Xia Tian: Brother, you’re so pitiful. There’s no smile in your eyes, yet you still have to pretend to be very happy!]

[Iron Time Dimension Xia Yu: Has nothing to do with me!]

[Gold Time Dimension Wang Dadong: Then why couldn’t he choose someone he liked when flipping the plaque?]

[Gold Time Dimension Ding Xiaoyu: It seems ancient Emperors couldn’t have their own preferences. Otherwise, they feared people might exploit those preferences to do something unfavorable!]

[Gold Time Dimension Wang Dadong: I’m not envious anymore!]

[Gold Time Dimension Wang Yase: Arrogant One, you still said you weren’t envious!]

[At this moment, Consort Rou gazed at the incomparably noble Emperor before her with a face full of smiles. She rose gracefully and responded in a soft voice: ’Thank you for Your Majesty’s great favor. Your Majesty must be tired from the journey? Would you care to taste the fresh soup I personally prepared? I spent considerable thought and time on it.’ As she spoke, she gently waved her hand, signaling the palace maids to present the carefully prepared soup.]

[Ouyang Yu smiled and waved his hand, politely declining: ’My beloved consort is thoughtful. However, I have already had my morning meal and am currently quite full, truly unable to enjoy this kind gesture. But the fact that you personally prepared soup for me, this sentiment I deeply appreciate. In the future, there is no need to go to such trouble. I would truly feel heartache for you.’]

[Hearing this, Consort Rou couldn’t help but show a touched expression. Her eyes shimmered as she looked affectionately at Ouyang Yu, her voice soft as silk: ’To be able to exert my meager efforts for Your Majesty is my greatest honor. How could I consider it troublesome? Your Majesty labors over state affairs daily, managing a myriad of tasks. You are the one who toils the most.’]

[Hearing this, a faint, almost imperceptible curve lifted the corner of Ouyang Yu’s mouth. He slowly extended his right hand and gently grasped Consort Rou’s fair, delicate jade-like hand. In a tone carrying a hint of ambiguity, he whispered: ’Since my beloved consort is so considerate, then in the future, you need only focus on serving me well.’]

[Consort Rou instantly blushed, as charming and radiant as a blooming peach blossom. She gently bit her lower lip, lowered her head slightly with shyness, and nestled her body into Ouyang Yu’s broad, warm embrace, letting out a soft murmur: ’Your Majesty...’]

[The others in the hall, seeing this scene, all tactfully and quietly withdrew. Eunuch Li stood respectfully by the door, while the Eunuch from the Office of Imperial Affairs responsible for recording the Emperor’s daily activities and movements also waited quietly nearby. The entire palace was permeated with an atmosphere of amorous intimacy.]

[In the room, Ouyang Yu pressed Consort Rou down onto the bed, roughly kissed her for a while, and immediately proceeded to the main act, causing Consort Rou pain. Yet she still had to pretend to be very comfortable.]

[Ouyang Yu’s movements were rough, completely disregarding Consort Rou. Whether from pain or pleasure, Consort Rou’s cries grew louder and louder. Ouyang Yu’s face flushed red, veins bulging on his forehead. With a final roar, he finally ceased his movements.]

[The people of the Twelve Time Spaces watched this scene, for the first time without feeling their faces flush and hearts race. Truly, the scene on the heavenly screen, Ouyang Yu’s brutal actions!]

[Clearly disliking it, yet still having to pretend to like it, they only felt stifled and aggrieved!]

[’Attendants!’ Ouyang Yu called out. As soon as his voice fell, a series of light footsteps sounded from the door, and then several Servants entered respectfully.]

[Simultaneously, the Eunuch from the Office of Imperial Affairs waiting outside the door, hearing the commotion inside, hurriedly picked up his paper and brush to begin detailed records. Once everything was finished, they turned and left silently, as if they had never been there.]

[At this moment, Ouyang Yu, under the careful ministrations of a group of Servants, slowly stood up. He glanced at Consort Rou, who lay unconscious on the bed, a flicker of complex emotion passing through his eyes, but it soon returned to calm. Then, surrounded by the crowd, he walked with heavy steps away from this room, heading directly towards his own palace.]

[Gold Time Dimension Hao Jiaqi: There’s a story here!]

[Gold Time Dimension Xia Yu: Agree]
