163: Chapter 163 The Idea of the Light LordListening to the Bishop’s description of the Ximi God, even Lin Sheng couldn’t help but feel a sliver of admiration for Him.

The last existence to earn such respect from Lin Sheng was the Light Lord.

However, the Light Lord was different from this Ximi God.

At the Light Lord’s level, protecting the weak was merely a trivial matter, whereas the Ximi God had to struggle against the rules of the universe every moment while protecting the weak.

Even though Lin Sheng knew in his heart that if the Light Lord were in the Ximi God’s position, He would surely have acted the same way.

But the reality was that the Ximi God’s situation was far more dangerous than the Light Lord’s.

The Ximi God not only had to face the rules of the universe and threats from the old days, He even had to deal with colleagues hiding in the Deep Realm.

After all, with the Red-robed Missionary as a precedent, Lin Sheng didn’t believe that in such a vast super starfield, there would be only one Missionary of the Strange Gods.

Lin Sheng took a deep breath and spoke solemnly:

”Your deity is very great!”

”I have a close friend who is very similar to your deity, also sparing no effort to protect the weak.”

”Of course.”

Seeing Lin Sheng praise their deity, all the church members wore expressions of shared glory.

However, while sharing in the glory, the Bishop also took note of the ”close friend” Lin Sheng mentioned.

He also felt some admiration for Lin Sheng’s friend.

After all, since Lin Sheng was a Half-step Legend, his friend’s strength at most would certainly not exceed Legend rank.

Assuming Lin Sheng’s friend was a Legend, for a Legend to be able to practice the same deeds as the Main God was something truly worthy of respect.

Lin Sheng did not look at the expressions on these believers’ faces.

At this moment, He had fallen into a state of inner conflict.

Originally, upon learning that the Ximi God allowed other faiths to spread in His territory, Lin Sheng’s plan was to disguise himself as a righteous god and spread his own faith here.

When the time was right, if the Ximi God met with an accident, he could perform a bait-and-switch to replace the Ximi God’s status here.

But after learning about the Ximi God’s philosophy, Lin Sheng hesitated.

It wasn’t just because he admired this deity; more importantly, Lin Sheng saw the shadow of the Light Lord in the Ximi God.

Back in the Great Universe, during the time Lin Sheng spent with the Light Lord, Lin Sheng had always mocked the Light Lord’s philosophy.

After all, except for the Light Lord Civilization, the other two super civilizations of the Great Universe did not recognize the Light Lord’s philosophy.

Even a large portion of the civilizations protected by the Light Lord only grudgingly accepted His philosophy because it was profitable to do so.

Lin Sheng had once ridiculed the Light Lord, saying His philosophy was unique to the Great Universe and that there was absolutely no other civilization elsewhere that followed such a philosophy.

But today, upon hearing the Ximi God’s philosophy, he felt that his past self was somewhat ridiculous.

Perhaps the Light Lord knew that regardless of the place, there would always be civilizations that followed such a philosophy, which was why He remained so steadfast in it?

Perhaps the Light Lord knew of the Ximi God’s existence, which was why He only smiled when Lin Sheng mocked His philosophy?

”Sigh...”

Lin Sheng let out a sigh.

Looking at the statue of god of Ximi at the center of the starfield and the mortals protected by it, he hesitated.

Without a proper reason, he was unwilling to move against a deity who practiced the same philosophy as the Light Lord.

”I am still too kind-hearted after all.”

Lin Sheng thought silently to himself.

Having evolved to his current state, Lin Sheng had already become a god and was close to becoming an immortal, but from beginning to end, he was still guided by human emotions and desires.

It was precisely because of his humanity that Lin Sheng found himself at a loss when facing a deity of pure ”goodness.”

”Sigh...”

Lin Sheng sighed again.

He decided to take things one step at a time.

After his Evolution was complete, he would leave this place. If he encountered this Ximi God again in the future...

...

”My Lord, we have arrived.”

The church members did not disturb Lin Sheng while he was lost in thought.

It was only when the shuttle reached the Great Cathedral that the Bishop spoke, pulling Lin Sheng back to reality.

”Yes, I understand.”

Lin Sheng nodded, his expression returning to a state of calm.

Inside the cathedral, Lin Sheng saw the Archbishop he had met when he first arrived in this Star System.

He remembered this Archbishop’s name seemed to be ”Saidai.”

”My Lord, when I heard that the pollutant were being escorted by a Half-step Legend powerhouse, you were the first person I thought of.”

”I didn’t expect it to actually be you personally escorting them. I’ve really troubled you.”

Seeing Lin Sheng appear at the cathedral entrance, Saidai immediately greeted him warmly.

He didn’t even interact much with the branch church Bishop, spending the entire time conversing with Lin Sheng.

In response, the branch church Bishop didn’t get angry.

He knew how much pressure the Archbishop was under and understood that the Archbishop was trying to win Lin Sheng over.

If Lin Sheng were truly willing to take up a position here in the future, it would undoubtedly be a monumental boon for them.

”How much do you plan to pay for this escort fee?”

After a few words, Lin Sheng grew a bit annoyed.

He pointed at the two sacks on the ground and asked Archbishop Saidai expressionlessly.

Upon hearing this, Saidai and the Bishop exchanged a glance, then the Bishop spoke in a negotiating tone:

”5,000 for one trip, does that sound okay?”

5,000 units of currency was enough for a normal family to live comfortably for two months; Lin Sheng felt this price was quite reasonable.

”Alright then, since I came and went, that’s two trips. Just transfer the money directly into my information talisman.”

Lin Sheng directly handed his information talisman to Saidai.

Taking the information talisman from Lin Sheng, Saidai’s lips twitched involuntarily.

Although Lin Sheng had inexplicably asked for an extra five thousand, if it could secure the friendship of a Half-step Legend, then those five thousand were well spent.

In the Ximi Starfield, the church had many things, but what they had most of was money.

Because the information talisman was a divine creation, the Ximi Church also handled banking services.

Mortals could store currency in their information talismans or withdraw currency from them.

It was only ten thousand; as a regional Great Cathedral, Saidai could directly authorize the transfer without needing to apply for permission.

...

”Not bad.”

Taking back the information talisman, Lin Sheng also showed a satisfied smile.

He had done nothing this trip, yet he not only learned about the Ximi God but also earned ten thousand. If such good deals appeared in the future, Lin Sheng would certainly be the first to sign up.

Seeing Lin Sheng smile, Saidai and the Bishop beside him also wore smiles.

For them, buying the goodwill of a Half-step Legend for ten thousand was already an incredible bargain.
