Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

16: Chapter 16 Exploring TimeThe appearance of the fire dragon caught those few Droplet Scatters completely off guard.

As unknown species that had emerged from who-knows-where in the prehistoric era, when had they ever seen such a scene?

And while they were dazed, Lin Sheng had already circled around several times.

Now, the five Droplet Scatters in the field were all, without exception, tainted with a layer of flames.

Lin Sheng gave those Droplet Scatters no chance to react; he lunged forward, smashing the ’heavenly god great club’ in his arms directly at the Droplet Scatter closest to him.

”Bang!”

This time, the reaction of the Droplet Scatter wrapped in flames was noticeably much slower, and the one Lin Sheng targeted took the hit head-on.

”Lue lue lue.”

Seeing this, the other Droplet Scatters rushed toward Lin Sheng one after another, disregarding the danger.

Droplet Scatters were social creatures; group combat was their advantage.

Watching the other Droplet Scatters pounce toward him, Lin Sheng was not only calm but even somewhat delighted.

Knowing that those Droplet Scatters couldn’t break through his defense, the outcome Lin Sheng wanted was to kill them all.

After all, Lin Sheng didn’t want things constantly staring at him in his future life.

Lin Sheng smashed the nearly burnt-out tree toward the Droplet Scatter he had already dazed, then he swiftly extended his sharp claws and fiercely swiped at the Droplet Scatter’s neck.

”Chii chii.”

The defensive power of the Droplet Scatter’s neck was surprisingly low.

Just as Lin Sheng’s claws swept past, a long object fell from the air.

Looking back at that Droplet Scatter, it had already begun to wither, the large eye on its body drooping; it seemed its life was nearing its end.

Seeing Lin Sheng being so fierce, the other Droplet Scatters began to hesitate against him.

They looked at their headless compatriot, then looked at Lin Sheng.

Subsequently, they turned and fled without looking back.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng did not give chase.

Because he discovered that the Droplet Scatter whose head he had severed actually hadn’t lost its ability to move.

It had only become somewhat listless, but even now, it hadn’t fallen from the Sky.

”Could it be that that thing isn’t this monster’s vital point?”

A bold guess suddenly arose in Lin Sheng’s heart.

Taking advantage of the Droplet Scatter’s listlessness, he dragged it directly from the air down to the Ground.

After losing its head, the Droplet Scatter had lost almost all of its combat power.

Even if Lin Sheng let this Droplet Scatter go now, before it regrew its head, it could only rely on the relief of its compatriots to sustain its life.

That’s right, the head that the Droplet Scatter used to attack could be regenerated.

But Lin Sheng didn’t know this.

He observed the Droplet Scatter for a while, and after finding it still wasn’t dead, he directly sliced open its droplet-shaped body.

The Droplet Scatter, with its body sliced open, only struggled a few times before losing its life.

”So it’s solved in this way.”

Lin Sheng understood.

It turned out the vital point of this monster was its body.

As long as the body was destroyed, it would be fine.

After figuring this out, Lin Sheng split the Droplet Scatter in two and swallowed it in two gulps.

With five thousand evolution points gained, Lin Sheng’s heart remained untroubled.

At this time, dark clouds filled the Sky, and before long, a torrential rain poured down from the heavens.

”Damn, that work just now was for nothing!”

...

Leaving the great lake where he had stayed for over a month, Lin Sheng embarked on a prehistoric wandering journey.

As a powerful creature over 20 meters long and possessing wings, Lin Sheng felt that as long as he didn’t act recklessly and didn’t provoke overly ridiculous monsters, self-preservation along the way would be no problem.

Along the way, Lin Sheng saw many creatures he had never even heard of in his past life.

These creatures all shared one common characteristic: they all looked quite strange.

Compared to normal organisms, these creatures looked as if they had undergone mutations.

The feeling they gave Lin Sheng was as if they had drunk who-knows-how-much nuclear wastewater.

What puzzled Lin Sheng the most was that powerful individuals were everywhere among these creatures.

Logically, it shouldn’t be possible for them to exist on Earth without leaving a single trace.

But in Lin Sheng’s memory, the Earth of later generations only discovered insects and some small organisms from this time.

There were absolutely no other giant creatures like these.

Not only that, even for insects, the longest fossils were only three to five meters.

Lin Sheng had seen many insects over ten meters long on this journey; he didn’t believe not a single fossil of these insects had been preserved for later generations.

Unless all those insects over five meters had disappeared for some unknown reason, leaving only those under five meters.

Thinking of this, Lin Sheng felt that this era was becoming increasingly complex.

The disappearance of those giant beasts was like a sword hanging over Lin Sheng’s head.

There was no guarantee that one day, he might inexplicably disappear just like those giant beasts.

What he could do now was to become powerful enough before that day arrived.

At the very least, he needed the ’Stainless Body’ talent.

Because only then could he survive in the universe and possibly avoid that catastrophe, if it even existed.

Although the ’Immortal Consciousness’ talent allowed Lin Sheng to have the power of self-preservation in the face of any danger,

Even if he lost his physical body, his consciousness would not perish.

But if he really lost his physical body, Lin Sheng didn’t know what he would become.

...

In a prehistoric era dominated by rainforests, Plain terrain was extremely rare.

But on this journey, Lin Sheng actually managed to find a Plain.

Looking down from the Sky, Lin Sheng could vaguely see the boundary between the Plain and the rainforest.

From this perspective, this Plain shouldn’t be too large.

Lin Sheng descended to a position about fifty meters above the Plain and began to carefully observe this ’Plain.’

Through this observation, Lin Sheng realized that this land didn’t seem as simple as a Plain.

Because the vegetation covering this land was also something similar to trees, and compared to the trees in the rainforest, they were complete miniature versions of them.

The tallest of these miniature trees was no more than a meter; they gave Lin Sheng a constant feeling of being malnourished.

Noticing this situation, Lin Sheng did not land immediately.

After the previous incident with the acid lake, Lin Sheng would subconsciously become vigilant when facing these abnormal events.

He circled at a low altitude, observing this Plain and the creatures living on it.

Through this observation, Lin Sheng really did see some clues.

He discovered that on this Plain, almost all the inhabitants were carnivorous animals.

Furthermore, the sizes of these carnivores were arranged in order from small to large toward the center of the Plain.

This couldn’t help but make Lin Sheng curious about what exactly was hidden in the center of this Plain.

With such a mood, Lin Sheng intended to go down and investigate.

But unintentionally, the corner of Lin Sheng’s eye suddenly caught a detail that made every scale on his body stand on end.
