Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 646: Present Day

Without hesitation, Xu Feng faked an act of pain as he clutched his chest tightly.

”Ugh, fine, 23,000 gold coins it is.” He said with much difficulty and reluctance. But silently, he was practically dancing in joy for achieving the impossible.

For a neutral map like Twilight Glades to only cost 23,000 gold coins to construct a town was the equivalent of striking gold from a pile of garbage.

Keep in mind that Twilight Gladesʼ best level ranged from 35 to 50. It was so essential for those who wished to grind and save time.

After all, there was no teleportation available in the Neutral Map, and the closest city to Twilight Glades required half an hour of traveling.

Just imagine traveling back and forth would mean wasting 1 hour. That 1 hour could easily accumulate, and the longer it was, the bigger the difference it would show on how significant that travel time was.

”Good, thatʼs a deal then.” Jessica hurriedly drafted a contract and shoved it right to Xu Fengʼs face, almost as if she was afraid he would have a change of heart.

As Xu Feng signed his signature, and the contract was recognized, Jessica soon breathed out a sigh of relief. Although it was indeed a pain to cut the fee down by 33,000 gold coins, Jessica knew the Oppressive Pillar was worth it.

After all, the blueprint might have been a mini-version. But so long as she informed her boss, Howard, then he could easily request a high-level mage to upgrade the building. Enjoy more content from My Virtual Library Empire

In other words, the effect would then be at least guaranteed to double, and it would then become one of the most important defensive structures within Star Falls City.

With safety being secured, who wouldnʼt want to travel over here?

The appearance of the monster waves also signified one more important aspect: the rumor of Star Falls City being the most resource-abundant one from the meteorite fall, had finally been displayed.

Crisis and success were usually just two sides of a coin, and this remained true. Once the crisis had been resolved, only glory would be on the path of their city.

ʼThis person is really the savior as Sandy mentioned.ʼ Jessicaʼs eyes subtly glanced at Xu Feng, seemingly enlightened.

A few minutes later, Xu Feng extracted a slot of the blueprint and handed it over to Jessica.

”You can ask Tracy for the money and please construct the Oppressive Pillar in a low-key manner. Iʼve heard some of the people seemed to have nefarious intent on our city and have been spying around. Itʼs best to not reveal this trump card until the end.” He then warned out of goodwill.

What he said was indeed true, but the truth was that he didnʼt want the other players to stop their plan.

If they realized Star Falls City was capable of defending itself, then why would they continue to cause a ruckus and target his Vanguard Guild?

There was just no way Xu Feng would allow any of these sneaky rat bastards to escape his clutches.

”Very well, the construction would most likely be done in a month.” Jessica nodded and agreed with his suggestion.

Aside from players trying to mess with other players, the same could be said for NPCs, who wouldnʼt waste an opportunity to take over the other NPCsʼ city.

Therefore, Jessica knew that this defensive building must be top-secret and that only trusted individuals were allowed to partake in the project.

As for Xu Feng, he believed a month would be too long.

”Is it possible to shorten the duration of the building?” He asked.

Jessica pursed her lips and shook her head.

”Our manpower is really lacking to construct a town immediately at Twilight Glades. Weʼll need to first analyze the terrain and also find the qualified areas to construct the town. The areas would then be sent to you for choosing where to construct it.” She explained.

Having heard that, Xu Feng also realized the procedure was quite tedious in the early phases.

Since it had only been the first major update, the NPCsʼ speed and efficiency werenʼt up to par to instantly plant a town right away.

They actually had to go through the proper procedure similar to real life, but less tedious and administrative.

After pondering, he suggested, ”Hmm, what if I do the analysis and then choose the area in advance?”

”If you do, then we can easily save a lot of time. But are you sure about doing it?” Jessica replied.

”Yeah, Iʼm sure. Just tell me what to analyze and Iʼll choose an area to construct the town in.” Xu Feng smiled.

”Very well, once you give me the necessary data, I believe the town can be constructed in less than a week.”

Just like that, two days passed, and Xu Feng found himself standing at a tall peak, overseeing the vast lands that could possibly be his new town.

…

Present Day

Having completed his analysis, and reading the reports from Carmen regarding the members count of his guild, Xu Feng realized it was about time to commence his plan.

The monster waves were also close to reaching the borderline of Star Falls Cityʼs defense. Players were no longer going to the city either, given the monster levels were far above theirs.

If it was one or two monsters, then some hardcore players would still attempt to kill them, but when the monster counts were above ten thousand.

That would be equivalent to suicide and no players wanted to receive the death penalty.

Dying wasnʼt the end, but after a certain death, players were required to buy an expensive potion which cost 10 Silver Coins to nullify the penalty effect. Otherwise, they would remain in the penalty effect for over an hour. And that hour wouldnʼt decrease if they were to log out.

”Phew, now weʼre just getting started.” Xu Feng mused, seemingly eager to see the faces of his enemies being slapped ruthlessly. Nothing could beat a good face-slapping moment!
