Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 88: Price To Pay

As Xu Feng rejected the goodwill of Zhao Kai, the latter was somewhat displeased as he shoveled one of the staff into his hand.

”Listen, you might not be eligible to equip it yet, but whatʼs the harm in having a backup for later?” Zhao Kai scolded.

And with a fierce glare, he continued, ”Also, just like what Blacksmith Fiona said. You can lend the equipment to someone who might need it for a fee. The contract here is absolute, so you donʼt have to worry about the other party reneging their words.”

BOOM!

As if an explosion had just occurred in Xu Fengʼs mind, he was astonished by Zhao Kaiʼs words.

What he just said wasnʼt nonsense, but something that made complete sense.

”Right… who said we must sell weapons or armor to others? We can simply lend it out for a fee.” He mumbled softly.

He turned to look at Zhao Kai in a new light. ”How did you even think of that, you filthy genius!”

Zhao Kai shrugged his shoulders, ”Iʼve merely learned this from someone. Compared to her, Iʼm not that much of a genius since sheʼs even more ruthless and devious than me when it comes to business strategy.”

Nodding his head, Xu Feng didnʼt plan on prying further as he could sense it was not a topic that Zhao Kai wanted to discuss.

”Well, I guess itʼs not bad to collect them temporarily, but Iʼll only borrow two while you use my other quota to choose four.” Xu Feng said, wanting Zhao Kai to have a bit more leverage in choosing the equipment.

After all, he was the only one among them eligible to actually equip them.

Additionally, Zhao Kai was going to be the main damage dealer for the mission requested by Fiona.

Zhao Kai didnʼt argue with Xu Feng and readily agreed to his suggestion, clearly understanding the latterʼs thought process. Not to mention, he had indeed spotted quite a few equipment to his liking but was worried about the quota in picking.

”Right, once youʼre done choosing, weʼre going to discuss your skills upgrade now that youʼre level 5.” Xu Feng informed, grabbing another armor and placing it in his inventory.

Zhao Kai merely gave an ”okay” hand sign as he immersed himself in the equipment laid on the shelf.

Knowing that he was probably going to take a while, Xu Feng promptly exited the storage room, not bothering Fiona at all.

There was no need to explain to her since she could clearly sense the surroundings.

Only a fool would truly think Fiona was completely occupied in the forging and remained clueless about her surroundings.

In fact, her perception was very high, so even if one made next to little noise, she could perceive them clearly. Thus, Zhao Kai shot himself in the foot by interrupting her when she had already sensed him long ago when the two of them entered the shop.

Xu Feng simply didnʼt bother to remind him because of his conduct earlier.

Who told Zhao Kai to frustrate him on purpose?

There was always a price to pay for messing with him!

Waiting outside the blacksmith shop, Xu Feng began reading through the Game Forum, hoping to find some interesting news.

Unfortunately, there doesnʼt seem to be anything interesting aside from the fact that Herald Fist was threatening to declare war on Gentle Wind for cheating.

Using his guild, Tyrant Fist to make an official post, Herald Fist was demanding Gentle Wind to reveal the method of her Hell Mode difficulty completion.

After all, it was indeed hard to believe anyone capable of achieving such a feat when most guilds, including very famous ones, failed to complete even the Easy Mode.

”This Herald Fist is really one troublesome fellow.” Xu Feng muttered, having understood his insidious plot by making such an official post.

By questioning the legitimacy, he prompted many to attempt the Hell Mode difficulty dungeon as well.

And once those players that made an attempt realize the intense hostile environment and monsters, they would believe Gentle Wind had made a foul play or cheated to win.

Of course, no one would actually believe that and was merely trying to pressure and force Gentle Wind to reveal the method on how to complete it.

ʼThe equipment dropped from the Scorched Caverns is still attractive, so these players would definitely not watch and let Gentle Wind hoard them all for her guild.ʼ He exclaimed inwardly, finding them quite laughable.

Gentle Wind might indeed find a way to fight the Inferno Tyrant thanks to the recording and his strategy, but the pretext was that she could reach the boss area.

Without his navigation guide, it would be a grueling task.

Sure enough, within a few minutes since the post made by the Herald Fist was spread like wildfire, Xu Feng received a message.

Opening it, he noticed it was Gentle Wind contacting him again.

Gentle Wind: Hello, sorry to bother you again, but can we borrow your subordinate, Lin Feng? We want to complete a few more Scorched Caverns.

”Look at her. Sheʼs only asking this now huh. How cute!ʼ Xu Feng chuckled softly, having predicted that she must have attempted it again, only to end up in a complete failure.

Anonymous User: Howʼs that possible? Did you not have enough Fire Resistance Potions to do a few more raids?

Xu Feng teased playfully. There was a reason why he didnʼt have any problem in giving her some more potions.

So what if you have potions?

Can you utilize it to the maximum benefit?

The situation was similar to giving someone a car, but they didnʼt know how to drive. In other words, it was only there to look fancy and nothing else.

Gentle Wind: What conditions do you want, Lin Fengʼs boss? Letʼs not beat around the bushes.

Anonymous User: Thereʼs no need to be impatient. Iʼll be publishing a guide soon on how to complete the Scorched Caverns, but since youʼre my first customer. Iʼll give you a privilege when the time is right.

With that sent, Xu Feng closed the message and laughed, ”Took you long enough, Shadow Blade. I thought Iʼd have to wait a long time here.”
