Global Exploration: Starting from Decrypting Chernobyl

135: Difficult preparations! Disagreements! 6000, more!”What scene?”

”What changed?”

The fatty was instantly startled. He turned his head and looked at the parchment scroll Zhang Meng had opened in her arms. Upon seeing it... ”Hiss...”

The fatty gasped.

His pupils widened slightly.

”This scene...”

”I remember at first... it wasn’t like this!”

”Now, how could it be?”

”Are these... are these three people us?”

”...Yes!”

Meeting the fatty’s incredulous gaze, Zhang Meng nodded with a solemn expression.

”It should be!”

”...”

”What do you mean?”

”What are you two talking about? What happened to the parchment scroll?”

Wu Tian frowned, looking at the shocked fatty and Zhang Meng below, asking in confusion.

”It’s this...”

”Never mind!”

Zhang Meng shook her head, stood up directly from her seat, walked in front of Wu Tian, and handed him the parchment scroll.

She said softly.

”You’d better see for yourself!”

”...”

Wu Tian silently took the parchment scroll from Zhang Meng’s hand and cast his gaze upon it.

Suddenly!

”This!”

All of a sudden!

Wu Tian’s eyes widened!

”The scene from the previous prophecy has changed?”

”Yes!”

Zhang Meng nodded gravely.

”Before, when the three of us looked at it together, it was still beneath a huge Pyramid, which should have been...”

Zhang Meng glanced at Kevin and Irene.

She whispered.

”It should have been Atlantis’s civilization being pushed to its end.”

”But...”

”Now, this changed scene shows the three of us standing beside a Mayan Pyramid.”

”The surrounding scenery and landscape have all changed!”

”It should be...”

Zhang Meng bit her finger and said indistinctly.

”Our arrival changed history.”

”It reversed the outcome of the Atlanteans’ extinction, or...”

”We destroyed the Mayans!”

”...”

As Zhang Meng’s words fell, the entire hall fell into a brief silence.

After a long while.

Irene’s trembling voice softly sounded.

”Your Majesty...”

”Can we see the parchment scroll in your hand?”

”I want to know what exactly happened.”

”...”

”Oh... alright!”

Wu Tian immediately snapped out of his daze, extended his hand to Irene, who could no longer sit still, and handed her the parchment scroll!

Irene looked at Wu Tian gratefully.

Then, she carefully took the parchment scroll and spread it flat on the table.

She read it intently.

The text on it was hieroglyphs, which were no difficulty for Irene to read.

So... when Irene saw the truth recorded on the parchment scroll about how the Mayans had destroyed the Atlanteans back then.

And... the final outcome where the Mayans massacred all the Atlanteans!

Her small face instantly turned pale!

”How...”

”How could this be?”

”Why did the Mayans want to destroy us!”

”Just for a treasure?”

”...”

Irene’s eyes instantly reddened!

Her hands, holding the parchment scroll, trembled.

She didn’t understand!

Why could a mere inanimate object cause such a calamity for living people!

Why could it make the Mayans disregard everything and kill all the Atlanteans?

Were living people not even worth as much as a treasure?

Were the Atlanteans, who had loved peace for generations... in the end, actually annihilated as a whole race?

”Wuwu...”

”Even after my father died, they still wouldn’t... wouldn’t let us go?”

”...”

Irene sobbed.

Two tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.

Suddenly.

Irene’s expression changed.

She quickly put down the parchment scroll and hastily wiped her tears clean from her face!

She was afraid that her tears falling on the parchment scroll would cause some irreversible damage to the scroll, which was already on the verge of breaking... ”...”

Everyone who saw Irene’s action was stunned.

Immediately, a sense of suppressed emotion appeared in everyone’s hearts.

The cute and kind Irene.

The fierce and cruel Mayans... A stark contrast!

Was this era... truly one where darkness overshadowed light?

Bang!

Kevin, his face flushed, slammed his fist on the stone tabletop, gritting his teeth and growling in a low voice.

”I want revenge!”

”Peace my foot!”

”It’s true that we Atlanteans love peace, but the Mayans have already killed my father and seized our treasure, yet they are still not satisfied and want to invade us!”

”They even want to annihilate our entire race!”

Kevin let out a frustrated breath!

”I won’t allow it!”

”Your Majesty...”

Kevin looked at Wu Tian, who was seated at the head, with reddened eyes, and said hoarsely.

”Please allow us to send troops!”

”To take revenge on the Mayans!”

”...”

Wu Tian was stunned. Although his heart was also filled with raging anger at this moment, since he had ascended to the throne of Atlantis, he had to see things more clearly!

And think more thoroughly!

A faint glint flashed in his eyes, and Wu Tian calmly asked Kevin.

”Revenge?”

”Do you know where the Mayans are?”

”Assuming...”

”We really find them!”

”Can the temporary army formed by peace-loving Atlanteans truly defeat the brave and skilled Mayans?”

”Calm down!”

”War is not child’s play, nor is it a moment’s rash courage!”

”We must be calm to plan for victory!”

Wu Tian shook his head at the stunned Kevin.

Then he gently tapped the tabletop in front of him.

He continued to look at everyone and said.

”Let’s all analyze it together!”

”The current situation is!”

”Currently, we don’t know when the Mayans will launch an attack, but...”

”We should still have some time.”

”So...”

Wu Tian glanced at the crowd present and said with foresight.

”If we are to fight!”

”The most urgent task should be to train soldiers, and then to rush the production of weapons needed for war.”

”Waiting for them to come to us!”

”We hold the advantage of familiar terrain...”

”Our chances of winning won’t be low!”

”By then...”

Wu Tian’s eyes glinted coldly.

He slammed the table heavily!

”As long as we destroy the Mayan army that has traveled far to attack, and then follow the trail to their royal city!”

”Destroy the Mayans!”

”Wouldn’t it be as easy as turning over a palm?!”

”...”

”Regarding the details...”

Wu Tian looked at everyone.

”Do you have any additions?”

”...”

After a moment of silence.

The fatty slowly raised his fat hand and said to Wu Tian.

”That...”

”Old... Your Majesty!”

”Haha...”

The fatty chuckled innocently.

Then he said.

”I remember the Atlanteans have pterosaurs. Can we send people to ride on the backs of these pterosaurs and take turns patrolling the sky every day?”

”This way, we can anticipate the enemy’s movements in advance!”

”Hmm!”

Wu Tian nodded.

”That’s a good suggestion...”

”Kevin?”

Wu Tian asked Kevin beside him.

”How many pterosaurs do you currently have? If they are used for reconnaissance... will there be enough?”

”Enough!”

Kevin nodded immediately.

He said to Wu Tian with an excited expression.

”Of course, it’s enough!”

”That’s not a problem. I can even go to the front lines myself and be a scout!”

Wu Tian shook his head and waved a hand at the excited Kevin.

”There’s no need for that.”

”You have other uses!”

”What about the others...?”

Wu Tian then looked at the others and asked softly.

”Do you have any other suggestions regarding details?”

”Hmm...”

Zhang Meng nodded and said in a low voice.

”While preparing for war, we can also send out spies, like the Mayans, to gather information about them.”

”For example...”

Zhang Meng counted on her fingers and said.

”Where the Mayans are, what their current military strength is like, what their weapons are like...”

”Even...”

Zhang Meng blinked and said.

”If the spy is good enough, we can also emulate them and carry out a decapitation strike!”

”...”

”This...”

Just as Zhang Meng’s words fell.

Kevin said with some hesitation.

”This isn’t very good, is it...?”

”Doesn’t such an approach seem a bit dishonorable?”

”...”

”Nonsense!”

The fatty immediately frowned and cursed.

He said with an uncharacteristically serious expression.

”The Mayans have already used such dishonorable methods to kill your father, the King of Atlantis, so what’s there to be dishonorable about?”

”Moreover!”

The fatty said coldly.

”War is war!”

”Warfare is the art of deception!”

”This is for the protection of your people, no method will be inappropriate!”

”Lord Kevin!”

The fatty said in a deep voice.

”I hope you can think clearly from this moment on...”

”What war means!”

Kevin: ... Frowning, Kevin then fell silent!

The fatty was right... The enmity was irreconcilable, and only such methods could maximize the salvation of more Atlantean citizens!

Honorable or not... this was war!

Perhaps the Atlanteans before had not thought about these things!

But!

Things had already reached this point, concerning the survival of everyone!

Change!

It was inevitable!

”...”

”Anything else?”

Wu Tian looked at the fatty with appreciation and continued to ask everyone.

”Hmm...”

At this moment!

Irene, whom no one had expected, spoke up. Her face showed thoughtfulness.

Her tender words were clearly audible in the great hall.

”War will definitely affect the elderly, women, and children.”

”Should we...”

”Should we evacuate these people in advance?”

”...”

Wu Tian was stunned.

Then he gently tapped the tabletop with his finger. After a long while, he slowly nodded.

”They can be evacuated, but not too far!”

”Moreover...”

Wu Tian said with a serious expression.

”These evacuated people must also be behind our battlefield, only then!”

Wu Tian said calmly and indifferently.

”Can the soldiers on the front line not retreat a single step!”

”But...”

Kevin was about to speak.

Bang!

Wu Tian slammed his palm on the tabletop!

”No ’buts’!”

”Now...”

”I am the King of Atlantis. If you want me to save you, you must listen to me!”

”...”

”...Yes!”

Kevin’s reluctance flashed across his face, then he nodded heavily.

”Hmm!”

”If everyone has no other opinions for now, let’s begin preparations for war starting today!”

”Kevin!”

Wu Tian glanced at Kevin, who seemed not to have fully recovered yet, and said.

”In one hour.”

”Hold a pre-war mobilization at the Sacrificial Plaza where you Atlanteans hold large gatherings and rituals.”

Wu Tian frowned.

”First, briefly announce that I am the new King of Atlantis.”

”And also the prophesied one.”

”The following speech...”

”Leave it to me!”

Kevin was stunned!

Immediately, his eyes widened in surprise as he looked at Wu Tian!

Although he was rigid, he understood Wu Tian’s meaning from his words.

Wu Tian was going to be a ’villain’!

To awaken the fighting spirit of these Atlantians, who had long upheld peace and kindness, in a short time... he had to use drastic measures!

Wu Tian... was preparing to cut the Gordian knot!

Even if he was misunderstood by the citizens of Atlantis!

He would force it through!

Kevin’s heart immediately swelled with emotion, and he then gave Wu Tian a grateful look.

He nodded heavily!

”Yes!”

”I’ll go gather everyone now!”

”Mm!”

Wu Tian waved his hand.

”You go!”

...Watching Kevin’s figure disappear at the entrance of the main hall, Wu Tian, who had appeared decisive on the surface, slowly exhaled... A hint of apprehension and uncertainty also arose in his heart.

To make the Atlantians, who had always advocated peace and freedom, abandon kindness and compassion.

To use all sorts of schemes and tricks to achieve victory!

This... seemed a bit difficult!

However... Wu Tian frowned.

Since he was here, he would make the best of it; if he didn’t help the Atlantians overcome this calamity, they might not be able to return!

Just for himself!

Wu Tian sighed in his heart.

He braced himself... and mentally prepared the words he would say to the citizens of Atlantis an hour later!

”...”

”Things seem very tricky, boss...”

”It seems there are some difficulties.”

Fatty looked at Wu Tian’s expression and whispered to Zhang Meng beside him.

”Mm!”

”It’s very difficult!”

Zhang Meng frowned and nodded.

Then she smiled broadly.

”However...”

”Isn’t his difficulty our difficulty?”

”The worst outcome...”

”Is just to be buried here!”

Zhang Meng smiled freely.

”The three of us will advance and retreat together!”

”What’s there to be afraid of!”

Fatty glanced at Zhang Meng, then, after a moment ofstunned, nodded firmly.

”Right!”

”What’s there to be afraid of?”

”Aren’t they just a bunch of primitive Mayans?”

”Screw them!”

Zhang Meng smiled boldly and said in a deep voice!

”Screw them!”

...An hour passed quickly, and by the time dusk approached, as the golden afternoon glow shone through the huge stone windows into the main hall... Creak!

The door was pushed open.

Kevin, panting, walked in from the doorway and respectfully said to Wu Tian and the others.

”Your Majesty!”

”All the Mayans have gathered and are now in the Sacrificial Plaza.”

”They are all waiting for you!”

”...”

”Good!”

Wu Tian nodded, waved to Zhang Meng and Fatty, and stood up with Irene beside him.

He slowly followed Kevin out of the main hall... A few minutes later.

The group arrived at the Sacrificial Plaza, led by Kevin!

Under the afterglow of the setting sun.

At this time, all the citizens of the Mayan city-state had gathered in the square, whether they were strong young men or the old, weak, women, and children!

They stood silently in the square, watching Wu Tian and the others slowly walk onto the high platform.

Not a word was spoken!

”Citizens of Atlantis...”

”Hello, everyone!”

Wu Tian stood on the high platform and greeted the thousands of Atlantians with a serious expression.

Then he continued.

”You certainly don’t know me, but I am your new king!”

”My name is Wu Tian!”

Whoosh!

As Wu Tian spoke these words, the Atlantians below all erupted into a frenzy.

”...”

”He’s our new king?”

”Then what about Prince Kevin?”

”Isn’t Prince Kevin our king?”

”I don’t know!”

”I’ve never seen this person either!”

”It seems...”

”He’s not one of us Atlantians, is he?”

”No!”

”I’ve never seen this person either!”

”Then why is he...”

”Quiet!”

Suddenly!

Wu Tian loudly shouted at the chattering, constantly discussing crowd.

”I have something to say, listen to me first!”

”...”

The voices in the crowd slowly subsided, and they looked at Wu Tian.

Waiting for him to continue.

”A month ago, your previous king was assassinated!”

Wu Tian said indifferently.

”And the ones who assassinated him were the Mayans!”

”...”

The expressions of the crowd below immediately turned angry.

Even with Wu Tian’s keen eyesight.

He noticed that many young Atlantian men clenched their fists, their eyes red.

Not bad!

Wu Tian nodded slightly.

He thought that these Atlantians weren’t all completely devoid of bloodlust due to peace.

He continued.

”Then do you know why these Mayans killed your king?”

”...”

”Because of a treasure!”

Wu Tian said in a deep voice.

”Now!”

Ignoring the astonished expressions of the crowd, Wu Tian continued to tell them.

”These Mayans are pushing their luck; not only did they get the treasure, but they also want to conquer your city, kill all of you!”

”They want to build a new civilization on your ruins!”

”To continue their civilization!”

”You tell me...”

Wu Tian asked loudly.

”Can this be tolerated?”

”...”

”No!”

Suddenly!

Just after a brief silence, a burly Atlantian warrior shouted loudly at Wu Tian on the high platform.

”Right!”

”No!”

”We cannot sit idly by!”

”Revenge!”

”We want revenge!”

”Counterattack!”

”We cannot let these Mayans succeed!”

”...”

Under the guidance of this young warrior, most people’s fighting spirit was ignited.

They stared with wide eyes and shouted loudly at Wu Tian!

”Good!”

Wu Tian nodded heavily!

”Then what should we do?”

Wu Tian asked the crowd seriously!

”...”

The crowd immediately fell silent, and finally, after some thought, the burly Atlantian warrior shouted loudly at Wu Tian on the high platform.

”Train soldiers!”

”Forge weapons!”

”And...”

”And...”

But after saying two things.

These peace-loving Mayans, who had basically no experience in how to fight a war, couldn’t think of any other methods.

Wu Tian looked at the silent crowd, a glint in his eyes.

He said loudly.

”Not bad!”

”Training soldiers and forging weapons are imperative!”

”In addition, I have a few more measures!”

”I hope that after I finish speaking, they will be implemented starting today!”

”In preparation for war...”

Wu Tian’s eyes flashed with cold light.

”I don’t want to hear any dissenting voices!”

”...”

”Good!”

Seeing that no one in the crowd spoke.

Wu Tian told the crowd the decisions that had just been discussed with everyone in the main hall.

”Besides training soldiers and forging weapons.”

”There are a few more points that you must achieve!”

”First!”

Wu Tian held up a finger.

”Send out Dragon Riders, always on standby, rotating patrols, to keep an eye on movements within a hundred-mile radius!”

”To prevent the Mayans from suddenly arriving without our knowledge!”

”Second!”

Wu Tian continued.

”Send out spies; after gathering information about the Mayans from various sources, if conditions permit, infiltrate the Mayan army to carry out decapitation strikes!”

”Third!”

”The old, weak, women, and children can retreat!”

”But...”

Wu Tian said seriously.

”They can only retreat to a place not far behind the battlefield, to live and die with the soldiers fighting on the front lines!”

”Do you...”

”Have any objections?”

”...”

Whoosh!

The moment Wu Tian’s voice fell, everyone in the Sacrificial Plaza erupted into a frenzy.

”...”

”No way!”

”I can accept training soldiers and forging weapons.”

”Dragon reconnaissance is also a good idea!”

”But...”

”Sending out spies and allowing the old, weak, women, and children to only retreat to a place not far behind the battlefield...”

”This, I cannot accept!”

”That’s right!”

”If we’re going to retreat, retreat far away!”

”Isn’t this the same as not retreating at all?”

”Who says it isn’t?”

”And that spy!”

”We Atlantians disdain to use such despicable methods!”

”If we use them, wouldn’t we be just like the Mayans?”

”We must fight a fair and square battle!”

”I disagree!”

”I disagree!”

”I...”

”Actually think it’s acceptable!”

”I also disagree!”

”No!”

”This is absolutely not allowed!”

”...”

Listening to the various voices from the crowd, Wu Tian frowned tightly.

Even though he had long anticipated that the latter two measures would be difficult for these Atlantians, who had always advocated freedom and peace, to accept, their excited reactions... still caught Wu Tian somewhat off guard!

”Stop arguing!”

”These are necessary measures to save us, these are correct decisions!”

”...”

Irene saw the crowd erupting.

She immediately shouted anxiously at the crowd.

”...”

”No!”

”No matter the reason, no!”

”Princess Irene!”

”Don’t speak for him!”

However... Irene’s shout was too insignificant.

And... Wu Tian, who had just taken office, had not yet established any prestige, and such sudden orders made it impossible for these Atlantians to accept them for a while!

”Everyone, quiet down!”

”Listen to our King finish!”

”Everyone, don’t argue!”

Kevin also stepped forward, wanting to maintain order!

”Even if it’s difficult to accept...”

”But!”

”You must also consider your loved ones!”

”Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures!”

”You can’t be so rigid!”

”...”

”Everyone, don’t get agitated!”

Zhang Meng and Fatty frowned and also joined the ranks of those trying to calm the crowd.

”Any questions can be raised one by one!”

”We will all give an explanation!”

”Even if it’s unacceptable!”

”Please also calmly consider, this is not to harm you!”

”...”

However... the voices of a few people were insignificant in front of a crowd of thousands; not only did the crowd not calm down!

Instead... they became even more agitated and noisy!

[Author’s note]: This section was actually quite difficult to write. The reactions of these Atlantians are normal, after all, their long-standing peace makes them not understand the protagonist’s measures, so this is a necessary process. Don’t be too sensitive, everyone!

More tonight, hehe!
