Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Whether you are a chaebol or a congressman, we treat you all the same! Beat!Chapter 147: Whether You’re a Chaebol or a Councilor, Everyone is Treated Equally! Beat Them!

”If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility.”

”I have confirmed evidence that Xingchuang Entertainment has been involved in predatory contracts, mistreatment of artists, and tax evasion.”

”They even acted as a pimp, providing certain services to powerful figures.”

”I will not monopolize this achievement!”

Lee Se-hyun raised his hand and waved his arm.

Everyone present was either a confidant of Director Yu or a member of Li’s small circle.

They believed Lee Se-hyun’s words without question.

Director Yu anxiously finished an entire cigarette, then slammed his hand on the table: ”Prosecutor Li, it’s come to this.”

”I, Yu, will do it!”

Director Yu had just taken over as the head of the Eastern Police Precinct, and he didn’t have many outstanding achievements under his belt.

If Lee Se-hyun truly possessed conclusive evidence...

What’s the harm in arresting a few lackeys from the entertainment industry?

As for Councilman Cho’s son... ”Good!”

Seeing Director Yu’s response, Lee Se-hyun instructed: ”Director Yu, we’ll split into two groups.”

”You only need to be responsible for rounding up all the mid-to-high-level personnel of Starship Entertainment.”

”Don’t let a single one escape!”

”As for... Zhao Zhengzhe, I’ll handle him.”

Director Yu said, ”Prosecutor Li, Zhao Zhengzhe has some bodyguards around him, and they might be carrying weapons.”

”You’d best take some people with you.”

”Mun-seo! Lead the Flying Fox Team from the Police Station and ensure Prosecutor Li’s safety!”

Director Yu was quite thoughtful.

It was certain that second-generation scions like Zhao Zhengzhe would have bodyguards illegally carrying firearms.

Even Wu Tai did that.

Zhao Zhengzhe would definitely be no exception. ”Yes, sir!”

Cao Wenxi saluted.

Director Yu nodded and announced: ”This arrest operation is codenamed ’Sinking Ship Operation’!”

”Move out!”

With Director Yu’s command,

the entire Eastern Police Precinct, this national machine, quickly went into high gear.

Almost all personnel from the Police Station, from top to bottom, were deployed.

Lee Se-hyun turned to Jin Do-jun and said, ”Daojun, please take care of the media aspect.”

”This USB drive contains evidence of Xingchuang Entertainment’s scandals.”

Jin Do-jun took the black USB drive and was momentarily stunned; he had thought Lee Se-hyun’s talk of evidence was just a bluff.

He didn’t expect there to actually be some?

It seemed this operation was not an impulsive act.

Lee Se-hyun must have been preparing for this for a long time.

Jin Do-jun nodded and said, ”President Mao of Xiangsheng Daily is a family friend of my grandfather.”

”I believe President Mao will be interested in this.”

Reporters?

Scandals are king!

No reporter or newspaper doesn’t love this kind of scandal.

Not to mention that Sunyang Group and Xiangsheng Daily were old family friends.

The value of this scandal alone was enough to drive them wild!

”Shixuan, once we’re done, it’ll be your turn to perform.”

Lee Se-hyun patted Oh Se-hyun on the shoulder.

Oh Se-hyun’s lips curled into a cold smile: ”Shixuan understands, I will definitely make Starship Entertainment bleed heavily!”

Deployment complete.

Lee Se-hyun got into a Police Station car.

Rows upon rows of dozens of cars in front of the Police Station gate shocked the passersby.

”Did the North attack, semida?”

”It’s so spectacular, are they going to arrest another big corrupt official?”

”Are you an idiot? Arresting corrupt officials is the Prosecutor’s job, what does it have to do with the police? This is clearly counter-terrorism!”

”Even the Flying Fox Team has been deployed, if it’s not counter-terrorism, what is it? Could it be to arrest small fries from the entertainment industry?”

”Section Chief Jiang, this? Is the Police Station undertaking a major operation?”

”Isn’t that Cao Wenxi, Deputy Section Chief Cao? And Director Yu, Deputy Director Chen, and the captain of the Flying Fox Team.”

”Good heavens, they must be going to fight terrorists, right? Why weren’t we notified?”

Section Chief Jiang’s face was grim as he reprimanded, ”Don’t ask what you shouldn’t ask!”

He wanted to know too.

This was the first time Section Chief Jiang had seen such a large-scale operation since he started working.

The Flying Fox Team was even involved; one might think it was really a counter-terrorism operation.

If it really was counter-terrorism, why wasn’t he, the Section Chief of the Criminal Investigation Section, notified?

Cao Wenxi, a Deputy Section Chief, went.

But he was left behind.

This move carried deep implications.

Splitting into two groups.

Lee Se-hyun sat in the Police Station’s specialized vehicle, passing through red, yellow, blue, and green lights unimpeded.

The hazard lights flashed.

All the surrounding cars moved out of the way.

The display was incredibly intimidating!

Lee Se-hyun thought to himself, isn’t this a bit too high-profile?

The Flying Fox Team was deployed.

Arresting a second-generation slacker like Zhao Zhengzhe seemed like overkill.

It was like using an ox-slaughtering knife to kill a chicken.

However, there was nothing to be done; they couldn’t just tell the Flying Fox Team to turn back now, could they?

That would be too awkward.

The Flying Fox Team was Director Yu’s kind gesture.

They were specifically dispatched to protect Lee Se-hyun.

It was, after all, a gesture of goodwill.

Lee Se-hyun glanced at the fully equipped Cao Wenxi; Cao Wenxi was currently acting as the captain of the Flying Fox Team.

Flying Fox Team, as the name suggests,

is somewhat modeled after a certain island’s Flying Tiger Team.

It’s a unit specifically established for counter-terrorism, generally tasked with combating heinous criminals, such as organized bank robberies or hostage situations in shopping malls. ”Prosecutor Li, when the time comes, you should stay in the car and direct us, overseeing the whole situation.”

Cao Wenxi was now in full gear, a submachine gun slung at his waist, wearing a tactical bulletproof vest.

He looked very impressive!

Lee Se-hyun shook his head; how could he let him hog such a good opportunity to show off?

The main thing was to prevent any unexpected situations at the scene.

If Zhao Zhengzhe escaped, it would be a huge loss.

Lee Se-hyun had spent almost all his emotional points preparing this plan.

He had been searching for information about Starship Entertainment and Zhao Zhengzhe’s personal details.

And he really did find some astonishing evidence.

[Zhao Zhengzhe, son of Councilman Cho, enjoys group drug use.]

[Recently, Zhao Zhengzhe will be holding a week-long drug party at Shanshui Manor...]

This was also why Lee Se-hyun included Zhao Zhengzhe in the arrest plan.

Starship Entertainment was part of the Zhao family’s businesses.

This arrest operation was tantamount to declaring war on the Zhao family.

So, they might as well arrest Zhao Zhengzhe directly.

This would severely cripple the influence of Kim Faction.

Ever since Kim Faction ascended to power, the original anti-Grand Commander Zhang alliance had disbanded once again.

President Kim, upon taking the throne, did the first thing: he broke the alliance.

He began to aggressively promote his confidantes.

And suppress dissenters.

This despicable behavior disgusted many.

They had just gotten rid of Grand Commander Zhang, and now there was President Kim.

Why does everyone who sits on that throne of power immediately suffer a blow to their intelligence?

Lee Se-hyun could only lament that the desire for power is infinite.

No one can satisfy its appetite.

Gangnam District, Cheongdam-dong.

The Xingchuang Entertainment building was surrounded by curious onlookers.

Police Station personnel immediately used yellow caution tape to cordon off the area.

This was to prevent onlookers from disrupting the arrest operation.

”My goodness, who are they arresting? Did Starship Entertainment break the law?”

”Why are so many police here?”

”I know that police officer! The one leading them seems to be the head of the Eastern Police Precinct.”

”Could it be that they’re here to arrest the President of Starship Entertainment? This guy probably wouldn’t get such a huge turnout even for murder or tax evasion.”

Some professional paparazzi, staking out in front of Starship Entertainment,

frantically pressed their Canon cameras, the flash going off like crazy as if it didn’t need electricity.

They snapped a flurry of photos.

This was huge news!!!

Xingchuang Entertainment, President’s Office.

”President Zheng, you are suspected of embezzlement and bribing officials, which constitutes a criminal offense.”

”You are under arrest!”

Director Yu said, instructing someone to put a pair of shiny silver handcuffs on President Zheng, who looked utterly bewildered.

President Zheng came to his senses and said, ”No way?”

”Director, did you arrest the wrong person?”

”I request that you show me an arrest warrant!”

How could Director Yu have an arrest warrant? Arrest warrants are usually issued through court procedures.

The Police Station does not have the right to directly arrest people.

However, he didn’t have one!

But Lee Se-hyun, the Prosecutor, did!

Prosecutors on The Peninsula have the right to directly arrest suspects without a court-issued arrest warrant.

Prosecutors are just that powerful.

Things like arrest warrants are like toilet paper in the eyes of a Prosecutor.

You want an arrest warrant?

I’ll just issue one for you afterwards.

First, let’s get you arrested.

”Take him away!”

Director Yu didn’t waste any more words, leaving a cold command.

President Zheng finally realized that this son of a bitch was arresting him without even an arrest warrant?

President Zheng immediately shouted, ”I want to see my lawyer!”

”I want to see my lawyer!”

”You don’t have an arrest warrant, how can you just arrest people?”

”Is there no law? Is there no justice!”

The police officers from the Police Station didn’t humor President Zheng and promptly gave him a few slaps.

Smack, smack, smack~

After a few slaps, President Zheng finally quieted down and accepted the reality.

These guys from the Police Station were truly ruthless!

When had he ever suffered such indignity?

After a few hits, he was as docile as a puppy.

”What are you doing?!”

”Why are you arresting me?”

”Get your damn paws off me, do you know who I am?”

At the same time, President Zheng’s story was unfolding in different locations.

The high-ranking officials of Starship Entertainment were all rounded up.

”President Zheng, save me! Save me!”

”I risked my life for the company, for the company...”

”President Zheng, help!”

President Zheng looked at these old colleagues he had been with for many years, speechless, and really wanted to curse.

Sibal!

Didn’t you see that I, too, was arrested by these Police Station people?

Save your ass!

It’s more like you should save me.

President Zheng remained silent, cooperating fully with Director Yu, a scene that left everyone dumbfounded.

Even President Zheng didn’t dare to speak, so they quickly quieted down, knowing that any more trouble would earn them a beating.

”President Zheng, what’s going on?”

”Yeah, yeah, President Zheng, why did the Police Station arrest all of us?”

”You must know the truth, right?”

”I have an eighty-year-old mother, an eighteen-year-old wife, and an eight-year-old son.”

”President Zheng, tell me, everything will be alright this time, right?”

President Zheng remained silent; if he knew what was going on, he wouldn’t be so compliant.

The unknown is always terrifying.

A Chief of a Police Station personally coming to make arrests?

What did this signify?

President Zheng didn’t believe this Chief was an idiot who didn’t know that the Zhao family was Starship Entertainment’s backer.

Where did a Chief of a Police Station get such courage?

On The Peninsula, the status of the Police Station was quite low.

Because Prosecutors had taken most of the power.

The Police Station was almost reduced to being the Prosecutors’ lackeys.

Could it be that the Zhao family had fallen?!!!

President Zheng was suddenly startled by the thought in his mind.

Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

Even if President Kim was assassinated again, the Zhao family could not possibly fall!

It seems the waters here are very deep!

As batch after batch of company executives were arrested,

President Zheng thought, these are the core members of Starship Entertainment.

With these arrests, Starship Entertainment was basically paralyzed.

The enemy intended to destroy them!

”What’s wrong with President Zheng? Did he violate some heavenly decree?”

”My goodness, they’ve arrested quite a few people. Must be over a dozen, right?”

”The President, Vice President, department heads, not a single one missed? All rounded up and taken away!”

”This Director Yu from the Eastern Police Precinct is quite fierce, doesn’t he know that Starship Entertainment is backed by the Zhao family?”

”Who knows, maybe he’s very well aware.”

Among the onlookers were not a few Starship Entertainment employees, Idols, and even paparazzi.

Kim Ji-won exclaimed, ”Won-young, what... what exactly happened?”

Jang Won-young shook her head: ”I don’t know either... It might have something to do with him.”

Aside from Lee Se-hyun, Jang Won-young couldn’t think of a second reason.

Of course, other possibilities couldn’t be ruled out.

Kim Ji-won nodded, her heart already filled with shock.

Could that Prosecutor named Lee Se-hyun truly possess such immense power?

He had almost rounded up all the high-ranking officials of Starship Entertainment.

It was incredibly frightening!

The former presidents and department heads no longer looked imposing; with silver handcuffs on, they resembled prisoners.

Kim Ji-won’s expression was strange; power, this thing, was truly terrifying!

Meanwhile, the arrest operation on the other side

was not as smooth.

Shanshui Manor.

Lee Se-hyun, along with a group of Flying Fox Team members, infiltrated the interior of the manor.

”Mun-seo, you go inside the building to make arrests.”

”I’ll go to the mountain forest behind; there might be an exit to an underground secret passage.”

”I’ll wait there, like a hunter waiting for prey, to prevent any stragglers from escaping.”

”Yes!”

Cao Wenxi nodded, then led the majority of the team in an orderly, tactical advance into the building.

Lee Se-hyun then followed the map provided by the system intelligence and arrived at a cave entrance to stand guard.

This Shanshui Manor, when it was built, had already considered the possibility of being arrested.

And the exit of the secret passage was in a cave in the mountain forest behind.

”Flying Fox Team, present!”

”Don’t move!”

”Everyone get down on the ground!”

The people present were all bewildered.

What’s going on?

Flying Fox Team?

Could it be that they had consumed too many drugs, ascended, and were now hallucinating?

A second-generation playboy at the party, as if to verify if it was real, tried to snatch a Flying Fox Team member’s submachine gun.

”Get down!!!”

A Flying Fox Team member directly knocked the person’s jaw with a rifle butt.

”Ahhh!! It’s real! I’m not dreaming!”

With the young master’s scream, everyone began to panic and scatter.

Zhao Zhengzhe, seeing that the situation was not looking good, quickly called his bodyguards and, taking advantage of the chaos, ran into a hidden secret passage in the shadows.

”I surrender, I surrender! Don’t hit me!”

”Do you know who I am?”

”My dad is the Deputy Secretary-General of the Capital City government, do you dare to hit me?”

”I’m a councilor’s son!”

Those who came to the party with Zhao Zhengzhe were more or less all second-generation slackers.

Of course, those who could hang out with Zhao Zhengzhe

would not be of low status.

Sons of Prosecutors, sons of Chaebols (Financial Conglomerates), sons of councilors, they were everywhere.

Cao Wenxi sneered, ”I don’t care if you’re a councilor or a Prosecutor, I’ll arrest you all the same!”

”Especially when it’s just their sons.”

”Whoever doesn’t cooperate, beat them hard!”
