Jialan Qiuyue’s beautiful eyes froze, staring at Di Tian with trepidation.

This Di Tian wanted to touch the Lifire Empyrean’s position?

Isn’t that too audacious? In addition, did Di Tian really have such capabilities?

The Lifire Empyrean was, after all, an empyrean character, who’s at the half-step world overlord realm. It’s said that he has already gained comprehension over a hint of world energy. Although he hasn’t acted for many years, there was no need to doubt that his strength was extremely strong.

Di Tian wants to touch the Lifire Empyrean’s position? That’s nothing more than a foolish dream.

“What do you mean by that exactly?” Jialan Qiuyue stared at Di Tian as she asked.

“Isn’t it true that your Jialan Clan has always been against the Lifire Empyrean? Now, I know that the Lifire Empyrean will soon make a mistake. We can use this chance to deal him a heavy blow but naturally, I would need the Jialan Clan to cooperate with me.” Di Tian explained.

“What kind of mistake.” Jialan Qiuyue asked.

“You should know about Governor Qin, right?” Di Tian glanced at her and continued, “Back then when the Jialan Monarch had died, many people suspected him. Right now, the Lifire Empyrean wants to make an issue out of this, he is prepared to act first before reporting up to the Lifelong Saint Hall and is planning to kill Qin Wentian.”

“Qin Wentian has obtained the Realmlord’s favor in the grand banquet those years ago, performing admirably during the competition between the world palaces. Could it be that the Lifire Empyrean has obtained some evidence to prove that Qin Wentian really is the killer?” A cold light flashed in Jialan Qiuyue’s eyes. No matter what, the Jialan Monarch was her uncle.

“I’m not sure about that. I only know that the Lifire Empyrean secretly gathered all the governors and is secretly plotting to lure Qin Wentian back to the Lifire Palace to kill him first before he reports it up to the Realmlord. The Lifire Empyrean doesn’t want Qin Wentian to be alive. From my spy, the Lifire Empyrean has no evidence at all. If the Realmlord knows how little regard the Lifire Empyrean has for him, what would he think?” Di Tian replied.

“You actually have spies beside the Lifire Empyrean? What are you planning exactly? Could it be that you acting against Yin Qiu is nothing but to pave the way forward?” Jialan Qiuyue felt that Di Tian was growing more and more mysterious to her.

“How is my relationship with you?” Di Tian glanced at her. Although she could only see his eyes, Jialan Qiuyue felt her heart pounding as a blush of shyness appeared on her face.

“How is my relationship with the Jialan Clan?” Di Tian continued. “The Lifire Empyrean has long been wary of me. Just because he suspects Qin Wentian, he is already prepared to finish him off without proof. In that case, what about me? I will become a second Qin Wentian the moment he finds an excuse to act against me. But things would be different if the Jialan Clan can get the position of the Lifire Palace Lord. Given the relationship between your clan and me, I naturally would prefer Jialan Jiangshan to become the Lifire Palace Lord.”

“Oh, so you know this? Why don’t you marry into my Jialan Clan now, I can recommend a young miss of our clan to you.” Jialan Qiuyue giggled as she teased. Di Tian perspired cold sweat, to think that this Jialan Qiuyue was still thinking about such things now. He hurriedly continued, “Qiuyue, this matter is considered as me laying my cards out against the Lifire Empyrean. I also have no way to predict how the situation would go. You should inform your clan members and if the Jialan Clan has no wish to make use of this opportunity, just pretend that I didn’t say anything. I will simply be more low-profile in the future. As for Qin Wentian, since he dies, he dies.”

“Fine, I’ll go now.” Jialan Qiuyue nodded and left the area. Upon seeing her departing back, Di Tian sighed. Since the Jialan Monarch had died, in truth, he no longer had any grudge with the Jialan Clan. But for this matter, he had no choice but to make use of the Jialan Clan, and to make use of Jialan Qiuyue’s feelings for him. He felt some guilt in doing so.

But when he thought of Ye Qianyu, as well as Beiming Youhuang being trapped in the Lifelong Saint Hall, he had no choice but to do this. He had to gain more power and status or he wouldn’t even be able to have the opportunity to come in contact with Ye Qianyu and Beiming Youhuang.

…

The Lifire Empyrean personally told the governors to check for their own wrong-doings and strictly enforced the rules of each city region. If they were guilty of using their own official positions for personal benefits in the past, as long as they admitted it, they would be given a light punishment. All the governors naturally understood the Lifire Empyrean’s intentions and all of them plead guilty to the Lifire Empyrean and this matter was simply brushed off just like that. At the very least, on paper, the Lifire Empyrean had already handled the matter. There was nothing Di Tian could do even if he wanted to try something.

When this news circulated out, many people felt shocked in their hearts. Clearly, the Lifire Empyrean was opposing Di Tian by doing this. After Di Tian captured Yin Qiu, the Lifire Empyrean didn’t say anything and told his governors to check for their own wrongdoings and he will handle it. To a palace lord, this clearly was a humiliating matter but he still did so. From this, one could very well tell how bad the relationship between the Lifire Empyrean and Grandmaster Di Tian was.

During these few days, Grandmaster Di frequently went to the Jialan Clan as a guest. Jialan Qiuyue would also go to the Emperor Pavilion to look for him regularly. Everyone understood that Di Tian, ultimately has chosen to side with the Jialan Clan. He wanted to help the Jialan Clan to deal with the Lifire Empyrean.

So, he finally couldn’t escape the beauty trap. Seems like Jialan Qiuyue has finally taken down this outstanding supervisory commander and weaponsmithing grandmaster.

And during this sensitive period, Zhuge Xiong actually received Qin Wentian’s reply from his messaging crystal. According to Qin Wentian, he had entered one of the mines to temper himself and had placed his interspatial ring and other belongings in a secret place, including his messaging crystal. This was why he couldn’t reply until now. Qin Wentian asked if there was anything the matter that Zhuge Xiong was looking for him for?

There seemed to be no problem. Zhuge Xiong told Qin Wentian to make haste to return as many things had happened in the Lifire Palace. The palace lord wanted to summon him for a meeting many times but Qin Wentian was nowhere to be found. Qin Wentian then replied that he would rush back immediately. Zhuge Xiong also felt more at ease. Seems like there should not be much trouble with regards to getting Qin Wentian to return.

It’s just that even before they settled Qin Wentian’s matter, the problem of Di Tian and the Jialan Clan had already jumped out. This made him felt somewhat gloomy.

After the Lifire Empyrean knew of this, he naturally told Qin Wentian to come to the Lifire Palace the moment he came back. After that, he planned to question him, take him down, and execute him on the spot, using the crime of killing the Jialan Monarch as the excuse. The Lifire Empyrean felt that it was best to kill Qin Wentian now to prevent any future trouble.

Since he had already decided to do this, the Lifire Empyrean naturally would be extremely decisive. He would definitely not be soft-hearted.

Finally, Qin Wentian returned to the Lifire Palace’s territories today, back to the governor’s manor of the northern city regions.

“Wentian, Zhuge Xiong came by here many times personally, asking me about your location. I’ve transmitted the messages to you.” The Evil Emperor instantly spoke up when he saw Qin Wentian’s return.

“I know, I also know why he is looking for me, hence I didn’t reply you.” Xu Li, is everything fine during this period of time that I’ve been away? Any huge incidents that would disrupt the normal operations, etc?” Qin Wentian asked. In his northern city regions, he didn’t want to give his enemies any excuses to turn things to their advantages.

As long as his region had no problems, it wouldn’t be so easy for the Lifire Empyrean to touch him. If the Lifire Empyrean still chooses to do so, it would be the Lifire Empyrean’s problem then.

“No.” Xu Li shook his head. “Everything in the northern city regions has been running smoothly.”

“Good. I’m entering closed-door seclusion. If the grand governor or others come by to ask, tell them I’m entering a life-and-death one because I’m about to breakthrough. Nobody is to disturb me. Remember, no matter who is it, or what is the reason, no one is to disturb me.” Qin Wentian instructed.

“About to breakthrough?” The eyes of the Evil Emperor and Xu Li flashed with sharpness.

He was about to breakthrough so quickly?

The two of them exchanged mutual glances, both of them felt difficult to mask the shock in their hearts. They all knew what cultivation base Qin Wentian had those years ago. How many years has it only been then? Is he already about to enter the legendary empyrean realm?

If they knew that Qin Wentian had already broken through, it was unknown what they would think.

Qin Wentian instructed them like this because he wanted to tell them that when the people from the Lifire Palace came by, they better take their actions fast because he was about to break through to the empyrean realm. If the Lifire Palace delays, things would be extremely troublesome if they want to deal with him in the future.

Qin Wentian decisively entered closed-door seclusion. The Lifire Palace soon received news that Qin Wentian has returned.

As the northern city governor, how could Qin Wentian be so naive? He knew that the Lifire Palace would immediately know the moment he entered his governor’s manor. It was impossible that the northern governor’s manor didn’t have a few spies of the Lifire Palace mixed within his subordinates. If not, the Lifire Empyrean back then wouldn’t have not suspected him in the Jialan Monarch’s death. Clearly, one of the spies had reported that he or she had seen him leaving the governor’s manor much later after the Jialan Monarch’s death.

Hence, during the second day, the Grand Governor Zhuge Xiong personally came to the western governor manor. The Evil Emperor and vice governor Xu Li personally welcomed him.

“Why? Did Governor Qin not hear my words? He hasn’t been to the Lifire Palace for so many years and actually chose to enter seclusion the instant he returned?” Zhuge Xiong was clearly extremely unhappy. He then continued speaking, “Tell him to come out immediately and return with me to the Lifire Palace.”

“Grand Governor, please calm your rage. Governor Qin has told us that none of us are to disturb him during this crucial time of his cultivation. No matter who it is, or what matter it is, we are not allowed to disturb his cultivation or we would all be guilty.” Xu Li respectfully replied.

“What crucial time during cultivation? Does he dare to disobey the palace lord’s orders?” Zhuge Xiong stared at Xu Li. “Are you planning to disobey it as well?”

“Governor Qin has never mentioned anything about the palace lord’s orders, he shouldn’t know anything about that. If he did, he would definitely have headed to the Lifire Palace first.” Xu Li explained. He then continued, “Also, before Governor Qin entered seclusion, he said that he was about to break through to the empyrean realm. At this time, no matter what matter is happening, this subordinate dares not be the one to disturb him. If I delayed Governor Qin’s breakthrough, I wouldn’t be able to answer for it.”

Zhuge Xiong’s eyes flashed with sharpness after he heard that. “Governor Qin really said that?”

“This subordinate dares not lie to the grand governor. That’s what Governor Qin has said, he’s currently in a closed-door seclusion session that’s extremely crucial as he is about to break through. No matter who it is, or what is the matter, no one is to disturb him.” Xu Li solemnly replied. Zhuge Xiong narrowed his eyes as a look of contemplation appeared on his face.

Qin Wentian was actually about to breakthrough? What a fast cultivation speed he had.

“Since this is the case, I’ll return and report this to the Palace Lord first.” Zhuge Xiong left with his unhappiness. Xu Li watched as he vanished, before glancing to the Evil Emperor as he spoke, “Why do I feel that something big is about to happen?”

The Evil Emperor narrowed his eyes. Qin Wentian entered closed-door seclusion the moment he returned and Zhuge Xiong arrived here almost immediately, wanting him to go to the Lifire Palace. Not only that, Zhuge Xiong’s attitude was extremely domineering. This was something that has never happened before.

Also, from Qin Wentian’s reactions, it was like he already knew Zhuge Xiong would come here, hence he gave the order that no one was to disturb him when he is in the closed-door seclusion. In that case, this means that Qin Wentian was intentionally avoiding Zhuge Xiong.

“Yes, a storm is coming.” The Evil Emperor spoke, his eyes gleaming with an evil light.
