The strength is the sum of the whole class, and he is promoted to the Grandmaster level at the beginning.

20: The top of the mountain is within reachAs soon as Chairman Liu had an idea, he immediately walked to an unoccupied spot nearby to contact the mayor.

“Oh, old man, there’s going to be a big problem with the Genius Training Camp this time!”

“The thing is, Yu Xiu chose a 100,000-kilogram backpack, but these idiots from Jiangtan City secretly mocked him.”

“Not only that, but in the initial assessment, they actually competed fiercely against each other, disregarding their stamina to fight for rankings.”

“Once they lose Yu Xiu’s protection, if even fewer students pass the assessment, I’m afraid something serious will happen to the students from Jiangtan City.”

“So, can you think of a way to persuade Yu Xiu? After all, we must prioritize the overall situation. If the Genius Training Camp has problems, Jiangtan City will only end up being merged.”

Chairman Liu told the mayor in detail what had happened there.

“You must be quick. Once Yu Xiu and the others enter the Training Camp, communication will be restricted, and it will be difficult to contact them again.”

Hanging up the phone, Chairman Liu couldn’t help but sigh, his face filled with worry.

“Teacher Wu, right?”

Chairman Liu knew that Teacher Wu was Yu Xiu’s homeroom teacher and tried to find him to persuade Yu Xiu.

“I heard you are Yu Xiu’s homeroom teacher?”

“I am!”

Chairman Liu sighed, “Teacher Wu should have seen the situation just now. I hope you can persuade Yu Xiu later.”

Teacher Wu said with a wry smile, “Chairman Liu, I can’t help with this matter. Although I am Yu Xiu’s homeroom teacher, I don’t have any close relationship with him.”

“I’m sure you know that Yu Xiu transferred from Seventh High School, and I’ve only spoken to him a handful of times.”

“If anyone can persuade him, besides Yu Xiu’s parents, it would probably be the Principal.”

“However, finding Yu Xiu’s parents might make him resentful.”

Teacher Wu made it very clear, and Chairman Liu nodded in understanding.

“Alas!”

Watching Chairman Liu walk away, Teacher Wu also sighed helplessly. Although he wanted to help, he also understood that his influence was minimal, and it was impossible to convince Yu Xiu.

…

Jiangtan City.

After the mayor hung up Chairman Liu’s phone call, he angrily slammed his desk.

“A bunch of idiots, idiots!”

“I originally thought that with Yu Xiu present this time, Jiangtan City would have a protective umbrella, but who would have thought, these idiots, how foolish!”

After venting, the mayor couldn’t help but rub his throbbing temples.

Yu Xiu was different from others; he was a Great Grandmaster expert, and only sixteen years old.

Using power to suppress him, perhaps Yu Xiu would be forced to agree because his parents lived in Jiangtan City.

But the consequences of doing so, the mayor didn’t even dare to imagine.

Not to mention what strength Yu Xiu would reach in a few years, but just the title of a sixteen-year-old Great Grandmaster meant that as long as he was willing to be subservient, many people would fight over him.

Those big figures could cause his entire family to be wiped out with a single word to appease Yu Xiu.

Naturally, the mayor wouldn’t be so foolish as to do something like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

“Now it seems I can only offer him great benefits, hoping Yu Xiu is willing!”

“Still need to find Principal He!”

The mayor picked up the phone and said, “Help me prepare a car to go to First High School.”

…

First High School Principal’s office.

After the mayor arrived, he immediately spoke about the Genius Training Camp without any hesitation.

The Principal also frowned deeply, but he didn’t scold him directly.

“What do you want me to do?”

“Persuade Yu Xiu, hoping he can agree to protect the students of Jiangtan City. Of course, the city will also show its sincerity.”

The Principal hesitated for a moment and said, “I can’t guarantee this matter. I do have some relationship with Yu Xiu, but you also understand the situation; after all, the time we’ve spent together is too short.”

“I understand. This matter is not Yu Xiu’s fault. Even if he refuses, I understand.”

The mayor sighed, “We can only blame those idiots, and I also bear responsibility for not telling them in advance about the cruelty of the Genius Training Camp, making them naively believe that they could obtain resources simply by working hard.”

The Principal said helplessly, “The Genius Training Camp is no longer a matter of individual strength. To get fairness in that place, one can only rely on the power of a team. This is not just a battle between students, but also a battle between cities.”

“Moreover, this time the Genius Training Camp has removed the death limit, so at that time, those people will act even more recklessly.”

The mayor said with a wry smile, “I won’t hide it from you. The ruins are about to open. If Jiangtan City cannot rise up this time, I’m afraid it will only end up being merged later.”

“Merged?” The Principal suddenly looked up, his expression instantly becoming serious.

He thought of those cities that had been merged in the past. Although they weren’t necessarily oppressed, they lost the resources to cultivate students from then on.

When resources were allocated from above to the superior cities, the merged subordinate cities basically wouldn’t receive many resources.

But that was secondary.

Once merged, it was equivalent to losing one’s hometown. Decades later, future generations would no longer remember the name of their hometown. How sad a thing that was to think about.

The name of Jiangtan City would eventually gradually disappear, only to remain in history.

“Is it that serious?”

“Alas, I don’t want to either, but the appearance of the ruins has accelerated the competition between cities. Once the martial arts examination is not ideal, our Jiangtan City will lose the qualification to participate in the ruins.”

The mayor asked, “Principal He, please consider, in this way, our Jiangtan City will be eliminated in a short time, and merging will probably become an undeniable fact.”

The Principal sighed, “Yes, merging cities, euphemistically called strengthening cultivation, but who in this world doesn’t have selfish motives!”

“How would superior cities be willing to allocate resources to merged subordinate cities?”

The mayor said, “This world is inherently about the survival of the fittest. The higher-ups are actually aware of these unwritten rules, they just don’t want to talk about them much.”

“Merging means weakness, weakness means being eliminated, and elimination means losing value.”

The Principal nodded and said, “Don’t worry, I will try my best to persuade Yu Xiu.”

“I believe with his intelligence, he will definitely understand the pros and cons involved.”

…

Genius Training Camp.

Previously, due to Yu Xiu’s suggestion, all the students from First High School conserved their stamina.

Now, climbing the mountain, the students from First High School, who were originally at the very back, were now far ahead.

The summit was within reach.

“Cultivation God, thankfully you gave us advice, otherwise their fate would be my end.”

“Nonsense, Cultivation God is the pride of our First High School. Anyway, in this Genius Training Camp, I only listen to Cultivation God. If he tells me to go east, I will never go west. Even if the instructor comes, I will only listen to Cultivation God.”

“You’re right, our First High School just needs to be united. In short, with Cultivation God leading us, I believe we can definitely rise up.”

Listening to the students behind her chattering, Yang Duling said, “The fact that you have such thoughts now only means you are very smart.”

“Actually, the true Genius Training Camp is not as good as you imagine.”

“The struggles within are very cruel, not just individual struggles, but also city struggles.”

“Moreover, this time the death limit has been removed, and at that time, it will be even more brutal.”

“If you don’t have strength, death might be the best release.”

At this point, she looked at Yu Xiu again, “However, if someone protects us, we will live very comfortably. Although it will still be very hard, we will definitely not lose our human rights.”
