Chapter 508: Passing You the Devouring Heaven Demon Art and Healing Secret!

The scene unfolded. Heavenly Intention Holy Son heard Ye Chenʼs threatening voice: ”Yi Qingwu, you donʼt want what happened before to be known…”

Soon, the fiancéeʼs silhouette yielded, kneeling before Ye Chen. He saw Ye Chen summon a massive shadow. Though unclear, Heavenly Intention Holy Son wasnʼt naive. He understood instantly.

Blood rushed to his head. But this was just the beginning. After Hua Yunfeiʼs fall and Fang Qingʼs appearance, Ye Chen, knowing death was near, grew reckless. He threatened to project it to the whole city.

To protect Heavenly Intention Holy Sonʼs reputation, Yi Qingwu submitted. The more he watched, the angrier he became, speeding the recording tenfold. At the end, the two silhouettes formed a strange, serpent-like ring…

Heavenly Intention Holy Sonʼs blood boiled, unable to endure. The bloodline on his body exploded, golden blood gushing out, nearly splitting him in two again. He was furious, unwilling, humiliated. Especially hearing the fiancée call his name during her ordeal. It tore at his heart. He blamed himself—entirely himself. She acted to preserve his honor, attacking Ye Chen after gaining the treasure pill. Trapped in the formation, sheʼd desperately hoped for his rescue.

But he? He protected nothing. Worse, Ye Chenʼs axe cleaved him. If Ye Chen didnʼt genuinely admire her, or if she hadnʼt threatened death, her primal yin mightʼve been taken. Heʼd have lost everything. He was utterly useless. Despite her humiliation, she still cared for his reputation, proposing to end their engagement to spare him. Why was he so weak? He deserved death!

But as a man of resolve, Heavenly Intention Holy Sonʼs eyes soon steadied. He crushed the recording stone. Looking at Yi Qingwu earnestly, he said, ”Qingwu, this isnʼt your fault—itʼs mine. I failed to protect you. Trust me, Iʼll grow stronger. Iʼll erase your humiliation. When I slay Ye Chen, Iʼll marry you. Before then, Iʼll teach you the Devouring Heaven Demon Art and Healing Secret. Your Movement Secret is lacking; Iʼll guide you too. This will give you true strength to protect yourself.”

Heʼd made his decision. His sect was flawed—he wasnʼt the only inheritor. So why not share? Methods to enhance sources were rare in the cultivation world. When he became invincible, forging a chaos body, heʼd harvest contemporary prodigiesʼ sources, refining them for the fiancée. Healing Secret could mend any injury, even source damage with mastery, ensuring her safety.

Yi Qingwu, stunned, her clear, beautiful eyes filled with emotion. She broke into tears, as if overjoyed by his acceptance.

Heavenly Intention Holy Son smiled. Heʼd watched Yi Qingwu grow up, fond of her since childhood. After killing his master, her father, he felt deeper guilt each time he saw her sorrow.

Those emotions grew into profound love. Heʼd give everything for Qingwu. Seeing her cry, he stepped forward to comfort her with a hug. Then he recalled—heʼd respected her so much, heʼd never even held her hand. Yet Ye Chen forced her into such acts.

His killing intent surged, though he suppressed it well. But as he moved to embrace her, Yi Qingwu stepped back, shaking her head. ”Donʼt touch me—Iʼm not clean!”

Heavenly Intention Holy Sonʼs heart ached more. His once-confident, proud fiancée was reduced to this by Ye Chen. Not wanting to upset her further, he sat down quickly. ”I wonʼt touch, I wonʼt… Sit, Iʼll teach you the techniques now!”

Yi Qingwu nodded, sitting across from him. As he explained the Devouring Heaven Demon Art and Healing Secret, she showed little interest in the sinister art. Devouring others felt like an evil path, not true cultivation. But recalling Heavenly Intention Holy Son devouring her father, a sharp glint flashed in her eyes. Killing him wouldnʼt be enough. Sheʼd devour his source, too. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Let him feel betrayal by his closest, dying in despair.

…

Three days passed in a blink.

Heavenly Intention Holy Son taught diligently, imparting the Devouring Heaven Demon Art, the newly acquired Healing Secret, and insights on the Movement Secret to his fiancée.

”Practice well and stay here. When Heavenly Intention Holy Land gains a foothold in the Central Continent, Iʼll bring you there.” Standing, he added, ”Qingwu, keep studying. I have business with the Holy Master. Iʼll continue with you when I return!”

Her low spirits, likely from Ye Chenʼs impact, prompted him to plan further comfort. But Yi Qingwu shook her head, standing briskly. ”No need. Iʼm going to see my grandmother and give her the Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid.”

Heavenly Intention Holy Son nodded. Her grandmotherʼs origin injury warranted it. But the orchidʼs origin—sent by an enemy for healing—soured his mood.

Having learned the techniques, Yi Qingwu had no desire to linger. Staying with him annoyed her. It was far less fun than being with Ye Chen. She planned to give both techniques to Ye Chen next time. Heʼd be thrilled, and itʼd help against Heavenly Intention Holy Son.

…

Heavenly Intention Holy Son watched Yi Qingwuʼs graceful figure drift away, vanishing from sight. He then flew to the Holy Master Peak. News from the Great Shang Immortal City had reached them. The Holy Master summoned him.

A sudden Mahayana protector required explanation. He decided not to hide. Signs pointed to issues with his devouring sect. It might not be reliable. So, heʼd confess everything to Heavenly Intention Holy Land, gaining their support for his cultivation.

Whether his sect was scheming or had other problems, exceeding their expectations would let him face anything. And Ye Chen would die!

Recalling Ye Chenʼs vile threats and the ring formed with the fiancée, Heavenly Intention Holy Sonʼs killing intent flared…
