The Spell's Range Covers the Entire Territory of China? Hand It Over to the Nation

92: Chapter 92 The Judge Cannot Judge the Nameless Ghost? The Primal Death Intent from TartarusZhong Kui’s remark about ”using you to fill the gaps in my teeth” was by no means mere bluster.

Before his voice even faded, his large, iron-clamp-like hand suddenly exerted force. Ignoring Thanatos’s frantic struggles and shrieks, he hoisted the Western God of Death before him like a common chick.

Then, a bloody maw capable of swallowing mountains and rivers swung wide, and he unceremoniously bit down on Thanatos’s spiritualized shoulder!

”Crunch.”

A crisp snap rang out.

It sounded like a dried walnut being crushed.

Following that was the God of Death’s scream and the hair-raising sound of chewing.

...

”Pah!”

Zhong Kui’s brow furrowed. He opened his large mouth and disdainfully spat out a fragment of pitch-black, shimmering bone, his face full of displeasure. ”Tough! It’s so damn tough! Not just tough, it’s got a musty smell like it’s been stuffed in a cellar for eight hundred years!”

While leisurely picking his teeth with a long-nailed pinky, he swung the remaining half of the mangled corpse in his hand and cursed, ”This is your Western god? Even the meat quality is so subpar. You probably eat plenty of carrion and rotten wax normally, don’t you? Not a single hint of incense offerings. And this dares call itself a God of Death? To me, you’re not even as good as the watchdog at the gates of Hell; at least that dog gets to eat something warm!”

At this moment, where was the majesty Thanatos had shown when he first appeared to harvest lives?

The majority of his remaining body was dangled in Zhong Kui’s hand. The black robe symbolizing his authority over death had been torn to shreds, revealing the pale and constantly dissipating spiritual body beneath.

He couldn’t even manage a scream because his throat had been crushed by Zhong Kui’s massive hand in the first round. He could only make a wheezing sound like a bellows. The deep blue Soul-fires in his eye sockets were now trembling violently from fear, nearly extinguished.

Watching this scene, billions of viewers worldwide couldn’t quite wrap their heads around it.

One second they were worried if the instant-death rule would wipe out everyone, and the next they were seeing this ugly red-robed man eating a god live on stage?

This intense contrast caused the atmosphere, which had been suffocating with tension, to instantly collapse. The audience stands erupted in a mountain-shaking tsunami of cheers.

”Holy crap! He’s actually eating him?!”

”This is what a True God looks like! What Western God of Death? That’s just a snack for our Lord Judge!”

”Listen to that review—tough texture, musty smell. This is basically slapping the entire Western pantheon’s face until it’s swollen! I’m dying of laughter. Our ghosts and gods can not only fight, but they have picky palates too!”

Old Daoist Priest Zhang Daoxuan, sitting in the command hall, finally loosened his grip on his peach wood sword. He leaned back in his chair, grinning from ear to ear. ”That’s it! That’s it! Evil ghosts need an even more wicked man to grind them down. This Thanatos might be used to acting tyrannical in the West, but once he gets to our Hell, a Yin spirit of this level isn’t even fit to carry the Judge’s shoes. At most, he’s just a lonely wandering ghost with no one to claim him by the roadside.”

On the arena stage.

Zhong Kui seemed to feel that eating it plain was too dry. He reached into the void and grabbed a handful of Yin Qi from some unlucky ghost, kneaded it into a ball, and used it as a dipping sauce, spreading it evenly over the twitching remains of the God of Death.

”It’s only because I haven’t started my business today and my belly is empty. Otherwise, if I threw these scraps to Diting, even he would complain about them getting stuck in his teeth.”

Zhong Kui muttered while taking another large bite.

”Rip—”

Thanatos’s half-shoulder, along with the deep blue Soul-fire, went straight into Zhong Kui’s bloody maw.

On the Western side, the believers who had been kneeling on the ground praying for the God of Death’s forgiveness were now ashen-faced. The sound of their faith collapsing seemed to echo in their ears.

Their god was being eaten.

And he was being eaten with disdain.

This feeling was more painful than being killed.

...

Above the clouds, within the projection of the Olympus Temple.

The atmosphere was oppressive.

The gods who were just clamoring about rule-based suppression were now pale. Even the caduceus in Hermes’s hand was trembling slightly.

”Why?”

Ares’s voice was dry as he stared fixedly at the red-robed figure feasting below. ”Thanatos’s scythe clearly struck. That was a harvest of the Law of Karma. As long as the concept of ’life’ exists, it’s impossible to be exempt. On what grounds is that Eastern fellow unharmed?”

The gods fell silent.

This was also what they couldn’t understand. The reason rules were called rules was because of their absolute nature.

”Because within that red-robed ghost-god’s Domain, Thanatos does not possess the status of a ’God’.”

A low, cold voice broke the silence.

Zeus remained seated upon the highest throne.

He did not show anger, nor did he lose his composure like the other gods. As the King of Gods, his eyes held only a heart-chilling rationality and coldness.

”We made a mistake.”

Zeus’s fingers tapped rhythmically on the armrest. ”We have been using power and attributes to measure our opponent. But the Eastern nation... they place more importance on the jurisdiction and system of divine offices.”

”In that red-robed ghost-god’s Domain, the authority of death is governed by a strict system.”

”Thanatos lost because he has a persona.”

Zeus slowly stood up, his thunderous robes billowing with a destructive aura. ”Because he has a persona, he can be judged; because he has a physical form, he can be captured; because he considers himself a God of Death, he is viewed by that Judge as a malicious ghost taking the law into his own hands.”

”In that case...”

Zeus’s palm turned over.

In his palm, a pitch-black box had appeared at some point.

The moment this box appeared, the surrounding brilliant divine light instantly dimmed, as if the light itself was being swallowed by it. Even a God of War like Ares instinctively took a step back the moment he saw the box, deep dread showing in his eyes.

There were no patterns on the box, only countless fine cracks, with a void deeper than the night seeping through the gaps.

That was a Forbidden Ground that even the gods were unwilling to mention.

It was also the bottom level of the prison where the Titans, and even older existences, were confined.

”Since the administrative system suppresses you, then cease being a god.”

Zeus’s voice held no emotion, as if he were about to discard not a primary god, but a used rag.

”Return to the primal state.”

”Let death return to its original form—no good or evil, no reason, only the end.”

Zeus let go.

The black box fell.

...

On the arena, Zhong Kui was preparing to rip off Thanatos’s remaining leg to use as a toothpick.

Although this ghost-thing didn’t taste great, it was still condensed from Divine Power. Eating it made his belly feel warm, which was somewhat beneficial for repairing his golden body.

*Burp—*

Zhong Kui gave a satisfied burp and was wondering if he should ask someone for a couple bowls of wine to help his digestion.

Suddenly.

The hairs all over his body stood on end.

An aura that made him extremely uncomfortable was falling rapidly from above.

It wasn’t Demonic Qi, it wasn’t ghost qi, it wasn’t even Evil Qi.

It was a kind of pure emptiness.

”What filthy thing is this?”

Zhong Kui instinctively looked up. Before he could see clearly what it was, the pitch-black box had already slammed into Thanatos’s mangled remains beneath his feet.

There was no explosion.

No roar.

Only a faint hum.

”Buzz—”

Thanatos, who had been on the verge of death after being eaten by Zhong Kui and couldn’t even struggle, suddenly let out a shriek that didn’t sound like it came from a living creature.

”Ugh... ah...”

The sound was shrill, like a Soul being violently torn apart and reconstructed, making one’s scalp tingle.

Next, under the gaze of billions of eyes, Thanatos’s mangled body began to melt eerily.

Yes, melt.

His pale bones and deep blue Soul-fire, upon contact with the substance flowing from the black box, rapidly disintegrated and collapsed.

”What’s happening? Did the God of Death self-destruct?” The global audience was in an uproar.

But soon, the gasps of surprise turned into terrified intakes of breath.

Because that pool of melted substance didn’t dissipate; instead, it was like a nightmare regurgitated from the deepest part of Hell.

It no longer possessed a fixed shape, turning into a mass of pitch-black, viscous fluid that crawled slowly across the arena like a living swamp. Wherever it passed, not only was matter swallowed, but light, air, and even the arena’s original spatial rules were silently erased, leaving behind only a pure, heart-chilling void.

Zhong Kui’s large foot, which had been treading on Thanatos’s head, was now deeply sunken into this mass of black mud.

”Sizzle, sizzle—”

That wasn’t the sound of flesh burning, but the wail of rules violently clashing with one another.

”Hiss—!”

Zhong Kui’s crimson face twitched violently, as if his Soul had been touched by a branding iron, and he abruptly pulled his right leg back.

The official boot, capable of crushing mountains and impervious to all evils, had actually been corroded with a shocking hole. Through the damage, the skin of his Golden Dharma Form on his sole could be clearly seen, turning an eerie grayish-white, as if its vitality was being forcibly stripped away by some overbearing death intent.
