The Calamity Beast is Strong? I Just Filled in the Stats Randomly!

76: Chapter 76 Uesugi Akemi’s Choice!”So, you’re from Sakurajima?”

Fang Xun sat on the bed, playing with the Big Gray Rat in his hand.

Uesugi Akemi replied to Fang Xun while tidying up the messy room.

”I won’t tell you!”

Uesugi Akemi said while placing a small plastic figure on the cabinet.

”I’ll eat you up,” Fang Xun chuckled.

”I... I just won’t tell you.” Uesugi Akemi swallowed hard, her body trembling, but she didn’t stop what she was doing.

”So, why did you attack me?”

Seeing that this girl was quite tough, Fang Xun changed his question.

”Because...” Uesugi Akemi turned her head and glanced cautiously at Fang Xun.

”Humans and demons cannot coexist.”

”Are you a demon?” Fang Xun asked curiously.

”You’re the demon!” Uesugi Akemi immediately panicked.

After her outburst, she realized she had actually been fierce toward this demon, and her body started trembling again.

”I’m a demon?”

Fang Xun blinked. How could he be a demon?

”No, how did you figure out I was a demon?” Fang Xun was genuinely puzzled. He had been in and out of the Special Affairs Bureau three times and had friendly chats with Wei Heng Heng, the head of the Dongcheng City Special Affairs Bureau branch.

No one in the entire Special Affairs Bureau thought he was a demon.

Yet, this young girl thought he was a demon?

”You...” Uesugi Akemi looked at Fang Xun, then at the docile Big Gray Rat in his hand.

”You keep a Remnant Beasts. No one keeps a Remnant Beasts except for Disaster Beast.”

”Remnant Beasts?” Fang Xun frowned. Where was there a Remnant Beasts here?

Following Uesugi Akemi’s gaze, Fang Xun looked at the Big Gray Rat.

The rat was acting suspiciously now and didn’t dare to look at Fang Xun.

”This is a Remnant Beasts?” Fang Xun looked at the Big Gray Rat.

If this was truly a Remnant Beasts, then Uesugi Akemi’s attack was somewhat understandable.

This was a busy downtown area.

If there was a wandering Remnant Beasts, eliminating it would naturally be the top priority, pushing everything else aside.

However, could this Big Gray Rat be a Remnant Beasts?

It seemed this thing really wasn’t quite the same as an ordinary rat.

”Yes,” Uesugi Akemi nodded.

”I came specifically because I sensed its aura.”

”You can sense the aura of a Remnant Beasts?” Fang Xun was astonished. This was the first time he had heard of such an ability.

”I am the most talented Onmyoji in our Onmyōryō,” Uesugi Akemi said with some pride.

”Is that so?” Fang Xun expressed doubt.

A person can sense the aura of a Disaster Beast?

If such a person existed, with so many people here, surely they couldn’t fail to find even one person capable of sensing a Disaster Beast?

”Yes,” Uesugi Akemi stated firmly.

”So, it really is a Remnant Beasts.” Fang Xun held the Big Gray Rat by the scruff of its neck and dangled it in front of Uesugi Akemi.

”Yes,” Uesugi Akemi nodded fiercely.

”That’s strange,” Fang Xun rubbed the rat’s head with his finger.

First, a cat stared at him, and now a rat showed up?

But this rat seemed more inclined to stare at Qi Lian?

However, he had chosen this Big Gray Rat himself.

Could he have accidentally picked out a Remnant Beasts?

”Do you have any proof?” Fang Xun asked again.

”Um... I can, make it...”

Uesugi Akemi didn’t know how to describe it.

She extended her hand, placing her thumb against the pad of her index finger, and lightly sliced it, creating a scratch on her fingertip.

A drop of blood shimmering with tiny stars slowly condensed.

A strange scent spread out.

Fang Xun couldn’t tell if the scent was pleasant or unpleasant, just that it was very peculiar.

However, under his hand, the Big Gray Rat froze upon smelling the scent.

Although it hadn’t been struggling before, Fang Xun could now clearly feel its body stiffen.

Its aura became unstable. For such a small rat, Fang Xun could actually hear its heavy breathing.

Fang Xun felt the flesh under his fingertips begin to tighten.

The rat was starting to grow larger.

Its muscles were swelling, and its bones were lengthening.

The gradually enlarging head twisted toward the drop of blood.

It was craving that drop of blood.

Evolve, evolve, evolve.

The desire to evolve drove it; this was an irresistible temptation for it.

”Hey, you big rat,”

Fang Xun clicked his tongue and sharply flicked the rat’s forehead.

”It really is a Remnant Beasts? It can grow bigger?”

Fang Xun shook the Big Gray Rat, which had more than doubled in size.

The Big Gray Rat’s eyes immediately cleared up.

It seemed like all it could do was make itself a bit bigger when exerting itself, making it easier to be held and petted.

”You, you, you... You really are a Disaster Beast,”

Uesugi Akemi looked at Fang Xun and spoke in a timid yet certain voice.

”Is that so?” Fang Xun beckoned her with a finger.

”Come here.”

Uesugi Akemi reluctantly approached Fang Xun, pouting under Fang Xun’s imposing authority.

Before coming over, she didn’t forget to arrange the things in her hands neatly.

Slap!

Fang Xun delivered a sharp flick right to her forehead.

This little prisoner dared to call him a Disaster Beast? She was rebelling!

”Clean up! Clean up properly for me. You aren’t allowed to leave until you’re done cleaning.

Also, you have to pay compensation for anything you broke, everything!

Tear down those broken talismans on the wall too. This isn’t a haunted house, why are you sticking yellow talismans up here.

I’m going to lie down for a while.

You clean up first.”

As Fang Xun spoke, he actually lay down directly on the bed and started watching tomato-based idiotic short dramas.

It was just one Big Rat; Fang Xun didn’t think it could cause any major trouble, especially since Qi Lian had given it to him.

Moreover, this rat didn’t seem to have any intention of harming anyone now.

He’d get it a collar another day and tie it up.

Uesugi Akemi looked at Fang Xun, who was lying down, and then at the mess all over the floor.

How long would it take to clean all this?

This Disaster Beast... wasn’t it planning to keep her as a female slave?

She had heard some secrets that Disaster Beast hidden among humans might keep humans around to learn human knowledge.

After all, absorption couldn’t completely convey useful information.

Swallowing too much would actually lead to mental confusion.

Sakurajima’s research in this area started earlier and was deeper than in other regions.

That’s why she could immediately conclude that the aura she sensed was correct.

A Remnant Beasts had indeed invaded this residential area.

And she was supposed to carry out the eradication mission.

It was just that she hadn’t expected that one of the top countries would be so lax in its defense against Disaster Beast.

Such a powerful Disaster Beast could live so easily in a residential building like this,

without any reservations.

Now, she even had to help him clean up his nest?!

Just as Uesugi Akemi was regretting her rashness,

the sound of a door opening came from outside.

There were other people in this Disaster Beast’s lair.

But she hadn’t smelled any aura of a Disaster Beast or Remnant Beasts.

So, were they all ordinary people?

Uesugi Akemi swallowed hard.

If this Disaster Beast knew it had been exposed, it would definitely kill this entire family without hesitation.

What to do, what to do, what to do.

Because of her recklessness, was she about to put others in mortal danger?

While Uesugi Akemi was struggling internally, a cheerful voice sounded.

”Brother, Brother! We’re back again.

Honestly, Captain Lu canceled the afternoon class!

We’re back to keep you company!”
