Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1191 - Taming the Old World - Exiguous - 4

The fifteen elite Tamers plummeted from the sky like a volley of human meteors, diving directly toward the colossal mechanical artifact.

There was absolutely no room left for hesitation. Every single second they gifted Selthia alone was a second closer to the adamantium tower buckling and the castle gates flying open. They attacked in a dead sprint, abandoning any semblance of cautious probing.

But Selthia had been anticipating an engagement exactly like this.

The powerful flow of her corrupted mana, guided by the hyper-complex runic arrays she had spent decades meticulously developing and carving beneath the continent, had forcefully pooled in the open space directly in front of the castle.

It had coalesced into a massive, hyper-dense ethereal dome.

Her unkillable Diamond-rank artifact did not stand alone in the front. It was heavily garrisoned.

Dozens of high-tier Platinum mutants formed a sprawling, impenetrable phalanx around the mechanical dragon. They had dragged hundreds of tons of the colossal, hyper-dense biomass they had spent the entire campaign aggressively harvesting from the elemental rings of Yino and Yano to this exact coordinate.

This was also not the chaotic, mindless horde that had blindly thrown itself at the Vanguard walls earlier in the day. This was a structured, living fortress. It was a terrifying concentration of biological output, meticulously woven together with the patience of an immortal and radically accelerated by the exponential growth rate of the last few months.

And then, the earth beneath the castle courtyard violently trembled.

The deep, subterranean vibrations betrayed the horrifying truth of Selthiaʼs logistics. A massive, concentrated subterranean wave of horrors was still waiting in the dark below, while endless columns of fresh reinforcements continued to pour through the shattered section of the outer Great Wall.

The monstrous sea currently visible on the surface was merely the tip of the iceberg.

High above the circle of mutants, as the fifteen Tamers began their fast descent, Victor fought a hard internal war.

With his natural instincts strongly amplified by the primordial energy of the dragons coursing through his veins, the urge to throw himself recklessly into the center of the swarm was almost impossible to suppress.

He genuinely craved the slaughter... But he maintained just enough cognitive control to force a tactical delay.

Before committing his physical body to the meat grinder, Victor hurled a massive, hyper-compressed boulder toward the mechanical dragon, launching a high-velocity probing attack to test the half-artifactʼs reaction speed and resistance.

It was utterly useless.

The colossal, draconic chassis at the dead center of the mutant phalanx barely registered the threat. One of the indestructible ancient appendages casually swiped a claw through the air, completely obliterating the massive boulder and sending the pulverized debris scattering across the courtyard like a man lazily swatting away a fly.

And deep within the artifact, Selthia felt a sharp spike of genuine irritation.

Her corrupted mutants immediately reacted to the shift in their masterʼs mood, their guttural snarls harmonizing in a terrifying chorus of synchronized aggression.

It wasnʼt the pathetic attempt on her main beastʼs life that irritated her.

It was the profound disrespect of the interruption. She was deeply annoyed that these miserable humans, pathetically overcharged to a mere 150% of their baseline output, dared to force her to pivot her attention away from Renʼs adamantium tower when she hadnʼt finished tearing it down yet. Demolishing that final obstacle was the only task that actually mattered, and these cowards were deliberately wasting her time.

So, she issued a silent, telepathic command to exactly half of her Platinum-tier phalanx.

For the human Vanguard, it was the absolute worst tactical maneuver she could have possibly executed.

Because she did not command the mutants to stand their ground and defend her.

She ordered them to scatter fast in every direction. She commanded them to completely ignore the fifteen elites dropping from the sky and instead annihilate everything and everyone they could find in the surrounding urban zones.

Selphira reacted in a fraction of a second. The blood drained completely from her face as she watched several dozen Platinum-tier nightmares violently break formation and surge westward.

They werenʼt charging their strike force. They were stampeding directly toward the great bridge and the densely populated residential districts that the Vanguard had desperately fought to defend.

The corruption in Selthiaʼs head possessed a flawless understanding of human psychology. She knew that the vast majority of the cityʼs defenders were anchored to protecting the weak. They could not collectively focus their firepower on a single Diamond-rank threat if it meant abandoning thousands of defenseless civilians to the slaughter.

She was actively leveraging that moral vulnerability. She wasnʼt just launching external sieges anymore; she had successfully breached the perimeter, and now she was weaponizing her presence inside the city to inflict maximum terror.

It was cruel, it was flawlessly efficient and it was exactly the kind of ruthless maneuver expected from an entity that had absolutely zero intention of holding back ever again. If there was a single ounce of tactical leverage available on the board today, she would exploit it to the absolute breaking point.

”Do not let them scatter!” Selphira screamed, her voice cracking with desperation. ”Three interception squads! Julius, Liu, Zhao, contain the perimeter immediately!”

The Vanguard reacted fast.

Min, Taro, and Liu instantly broke off from the main descent, diving northwest. They engaged their fusions mid-air, aggressively cutting off the path of the Platinum beasts sprinting in that direction. The colossal duplicates of the fused Giant Terror, the chaotic Fire-Water Lizard, and the blood-soaked Wendigo interposed themselves between the roaring mutants and the fragile, civilian architecture.

The elite academy instructors, Zhao, Lin, and Yang, abandoned the primary target and peeled toward the southwest. They formed a localized, impenetrable meat grinder on the opposite flank, daring the Platinum horrors to cross their threshold.

And the three Qilin princes took the west, the widest, most vulnerable central curve of the defensive perimeter that required the absolute most geographical coverage. While Taro and Yang absorbed the kinetic impact of the initial charge with small walls, Victor, Julius, and Arturo aggressively channeled their primordial energy into the bedrock.

They rapidly raised a massive, crescent-shaped barricade of hyper-compressed stone, desperately attempting to physically corral the fleeing beasts before they could reach the populated districts.

Julius frantically stitched the stone together from the epicenter while Victor and Arturo expanded and reinforced the flanks made by Taro and Yang.

Slowly, agonizingly, the crescent wall locked into place, trapping the escaped Platinums inside a kill zone.

But nine of the fifteen elite Tamers had been instantly pulled away from the primary objective, forcefully divided across three separate fronts just to contain the cruelty of a single telepathic command.

Only six remained to face the Diamond-rank artifact.
