Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 4815: Fish on the Chopping Block

Struck by the Soul Slaying Arrow, the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign’s soul was wounded and his aura fell, while under the influence of the grand array his connection with the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth weakened even further.

He looked at Lin Moyu’s clone in disbelief.

“Impossible.

“You are merely a clone how can you use the Soul Slaying Arrow?”

The Soul Slaying Arrow slew others by first slaying oneself.

Even if the main body used it, the soul would be injured, and its killing power depended entirely on one’s own soul however much soul was spent, that was how much power it had.

The power of that previous arrow, although not quite on par with an arrow loosed by the main body, had still been terrifying and should have been something a clone absolutely could not accomplish.

Yet the fact remained that he had done it.

Moreover, the clone appeared completely unscathed, which was simply impossible.

He could not understand it at all utterly incomprehensible.

The Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign had lived for an unknown number of years.

Ever since he had achieved the Dao, he had been able to see through the underlying pattern behind everything he encountered, but right now he could not see anything.

Now trapped here, his sense of the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth continued to weaken.

He had no idea what was happening inside and felt that even if he wanted to self destruct the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth, it might already be difficult to do so.

While he pondered, Lin Moyu’s clone condensed another Soul Slaying Arrow.

The Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign’s expression changed drastically.

If a few more arrows landed, he really would die.

He had to fight desperately now.

His only option was to break through this array and re establish contact with the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth, so that he could know what was going on there.

If the situation truly became irreversible, then he would rather self destruct his heaven and earth than let Lin Moyu have things easy.

“At worst, we perish together!”

Killing intent surged within the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign as he once more took out a pill and crushed it.

His heart ached to the extreme; this pill had been gained through no small effort, but compared with his own life and death, it no longer mattered.

Under the pill’s effect, the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign’s aura rose sharply.

The pitch black arrow tore the void again, accurately striking his soul and forcing down his rising aura.

After being hit by the Soul Slaying Arrow, the pill’s effect was greatly weakened.

It failed to restore him to his peak, managing only to bring him back to about half his former state.

He took out the basin type magic treasure, and his chest burst open as he detonated a wound there.

A large amount of fresh blood spurted wildly from the wound and poured into the basin.

He used his own blood in place of the water in the basin.

“Time and space distortion, marks of the heavens and earth, infinite powerhouses for my use rise!”

The basin overturned, and the blood fell like a waterfall.

Within that blood, countless heavens and earth rose and sank, and one powerhouse after another flew out once more.

From the previous battle within the living beings’ chessboard, the number of heaven and earth imprints branded into the basin had already fallen a great deal.

Now the number of powerhouses was less than one third of what it had been, but it was still shocking.

The grand array rumbled into full activation, and countless attacks rained down, clashing en masse with those powerhouses.

Little Tree swung its branches and joined the battle.

The Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign also attacked like a madman.

He no longer considered the cost; he had to break out of the encirclement of the grand array.

Lin Moyu’s clone did not use the Soul Slaying Arrow again.

He continuously mended the array, light flashing in his eyes.

Now was not yet the time to kill the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign.

…

Within the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth, Lin Moyu finally saw the core of the heaven and earth.

An eighteen storied pagoda, with an additional palace beside it.

Compared with the last time he had seen it, the pagoda had lost a floor and the palace had partially collapsed.

At this moment, ten thousand plus undying spirit soldiers were massacring the living beings of the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth.

Lin Moyu was utterly cold and merciless.

This was a struggle between heavens and earth.

If he failed, the living beings of his own ten realms would die, the beings within the Ancient Chaotic Wilderness would also not be spared, and the Realm of the Word God Heavens would change masters.

In a contest between heavens and earth, there was no morality to speak of.

Only one side could live.

Killing the living beings of the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth was for the sake of making it easier to refine the core of that heaven and earth.

At this moment, as the living beings were slaughtered, resentment surged to the heavens, and the entire heaven and earth suffered a calamity beyond imagination, as if a natural disaster had descended.

Everything had come far too suddenly.

The undying spirit soldiers that descended from beyond the heavens raised their butcher’s blades and swept through world after world.

The Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth was vast, containing innumerable large and small worlds and realms within.

Yet in the face of the hundreds of billions of undying spirit soldiers, there were still catastrophic casualties within a short span.

Lin Moyu modified the laws of heaven and earth, compressing space and shifting distance, using the laws themselves as a guide so that the undying spirit soldiers could traverse unimaginably long distances in very little time and spread throughout the entire Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth.

The towering resentment within the heavens and earth battered the core, rendering the whole heaven and earth even more fragile.

This, in turn, weakened the power of the heaven and earth and made the refining process smoother.

The several clones of the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign guarding the core of the heaven and earth charged furiously toward Lin Moyu.

“Useless !”

With a thought, the Living Beings’ Chessboard unfolded and trapped them inside.

There was no need to waste effort killing them.

After all, they were still clones of the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign, and truly killing them would not be easy.

Even using the Calamity Scepter would require multiple blows, which would be time consuming and laborious.

The simplest method was to trap them so they could not disturb him.

Once his task was done, those clones would naturally cease to exist.

Passing by the clones, Lin Moyu arrived before the core of the heaven and earth.

The core erupted with immense power, obviously resisting Lin Moyu.

Lin Moyu waved his great hand, and the Primal Chaos Purple Flame poured down like a sky covering curtain, transforming into a sea of fire that engulfed the core of the heaven and earth.

A sharp, piercing sound rang out from the core at once.

It was afraid, trembling within the sea of fire.

It did not want to be refined, but it was useless.

Faced with the Primal Chaos Purple Flame, it had no other outcome.

“Curious whether, after the Primal Chaos Purple Flame refines the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth, it can take another step forward.”

This was a complete Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth, incomparable to any broken heaven and earth remnants.

That the Primal Chaos Purple Flame would grow stronger was inevitable; whether it could evolve again was less certain.

Nor did Lin Moyu know what form the Primal Chaos Purple Flame would take if it advanced further.

Screams rang endlessly from within the core of the heaven and earth.

The power of heaven and earth was being devoured and refined, growing weaker and weaker.

Within the heaven and earth, resentment grew denser still.

As the living beings died, their hatred soared to the skies, battering the entire heaven and earth and overturning its karmic web.

After Lin Moyu finished refining the heaven and earth, these living beings would have had no path to survival anyway.

Now he was merely sending them on ahead of time.

In Lin Moyu’s view, it was nothing more than the difference between dying a bit earlier and dying a bit later.

As for the karma of the heaven and earth once the heaven and earth itself was gone, what karma could possibly remain?

The Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign had survived two great eras of annihilation.

Who knew how many heavens and earth he had destroyed or how many living beings he had slaughtered?

Even if there was karma, at this point it was no longer “cause” but the “effect” that had once been sown long ago.

With calamity descending, the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth quickly became weak, while the Primal Chaos Purple Flame grew stronger and its refining speed gradually increased.

…

Outside the Realm of the Word God Heavens, the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign still could not break through the encirclement after a long time.

The power of faith fell at an alarming rate.

His expression grew extremely ugly, and a hint of despair showed in his eyes.

He had fallen into the trap laid by Lin Moyu.

His link with the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth was weakened to the point that he could not control it, yet the diminishing power of faith was already telling him what was happening inside.

He knew that today he most likely would not escape death.

He just did not understand what exactly Lin Moyu was attempting to do.

Kill him?

That should not require going to such lengths.

He would never in his wildest imagination think that Lin Moyu possessed the Primal Chaos Purple Flame capable of refining a heaven and earth, and that he also had a heaven defying spell like Heaven Shattering Earth Rending to recreate a heaven and earth.

Despair flooded his heart, and his Dao heart cracked, the fissures rapidly widening.

He had exhausted every means he had, yet remained powerless to break out.

The Soul Slaying Arrow had locked onto him all this time; he could not even self destruct if he tried.

He was the meat, and Lin Moyu was the butcher’s knife and chopping block.

Two days later, the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth was completely refined, leaving behind only an empty shell of a core.

A sharp pain tore through the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign’s heart.

He had totally lost his sense of the Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth and knew that his own Primal Chaos Heaven and Earth was gone.

“…

“Now it should be your turn!”

“Let you die beneath your own spell then.”

Lin Moyu’s clone tapped his finger, and in an instant hundreds of pitch black great bows appeared in the void.

Soul Slaying Arrows condensed upon the bowstrings, all aimed at the Purple-Gold Emperor Sovereign.
