Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 4805: Strict Rules

Once again, that temptation filled voice resounded within his soul, beckoning him over to obtain that thing.

The same voice had appeared before, and Lin Moyu suddenly understood some matters.

The corners of his mouth could not help but curl up slightly.

“So that is how it is.

“If the Yushen Heaven and Earth wants to evolve into a Hongmeng Heaven and Earth, it might be related to that thing within the Forbidden Zone of Life.

“These rules are indeed strict, each step tightly interlocking with the next.

“Only after attaining the Dao within the heaven and earth and fully taking control of it can one see the next step to walk.”

“Entering the Forbidden Zone of Life and obtaining that item is a road that all who become the strongest within a heaven and earth must take.

“As long as there is still the desire to climb higher in one’s heart, one will step onto this road.”

“But this road is too difficult.

“In this Great Annihilation, countless peak powerhouses have fallen in the Forbidden Zone of Life, and not one has succeeded.”

“No, that is not right.

“It is not that no one has succeeded; this Great Annihilation era has not yet ended.

“There is still me.”

Lin Moyu’s understanding of the rules deepened once more.

The rules were extremely strict; only after finishing one step would the next step to walk be revealed.

That thing within the Forbidden Zone of Life was precisely the next step that would only appear to those who had completed the path within a heaven and earth.

This step was not compulsory.

It could be taken or not taken.

The temptation from the Forbidden Zone of Life always existed, but it was not irresistible.

Any peak powerhouse who reached the pinnacle of their own heaven and earth would receive the same treatment.

In Lin Moyu’s view, this step was a multiple choice question on the Dao.

This multiple choice question could select out those without self awareness, select out those without sufficient strength, and select out those who could not resist temptation.

This was an awakening of understanding, yet also not quite the same as enlightenment.

Lin Moyu now knew what he had to do next.

However, this was still not the right time.

That ancient existence from some past Great Annihilation era, a peak powerhouse of a Hongmeng Heaven and Earth, was about to fully awaken.

There would certainly be a battle between him and Lin Moyu.

Going to the Forbidden Zone of Life was no easy matter.

He did not know how long he would be gone.

He feared that by the time he returned, the Yushen Heaven and Earth would already have a new master.

Before dealing with that person, he could not go.

That person was probably thinking the same thing.

By placing a clone outside the Yushen Heaven and Earth to watch it, he was also telling Lin Moyu that he could not go; if he did, the Yushen Heaven and Earth would surely change hands.

If even the Yushen Heaven and Earth were gone, then even if he obtained that thing from the Forbidden Zone of Life, what use would it be?

This unspoken message was understood clearly by both sides.

“Then let us see who laughs last.”

“You have your eye on my Yushen Heaven and Earth, but have I not likewise set my sights on your Hongmeng Heaven and Earth?”

Lin Moyu continued with the Game of All Beings, and the clone left at the heaven and earth core was not idle either.

One rune after another flew out, merging into the rules of the Yushen Heaven and Earth, weaving a great net that firmly protected the world.

Once this great net was activated, it would absorb the destructive power from the Forbidden Zone of Life, without consuming the power of the heaven and earth at all.

Even when facing a peak powerhouse of a Hongmeng Heaven and Earth, it could still hold out for a period of time.

The main function of the formation was to block the aftershocks of a great battle and ensure that the Yushen Heaven and Earth would not be damaged.

Now that the Chaotic Ancient Desolation had already been guided over by Little Tree and firmly attached to Little Tree’s roots, it was also protected by formations.

“Formations above heaven and earth indeed have many benefits.”

“If there is another step forward, I would directly enter the Hongmeng Heaven and Earth to arrange formations and simply not allow that fellow to come out at all.”

Lin Moyu felt that he was being somewhat unrealistic and could not help but laugh at himself.

“If it were really that simple, that would be great.”

Comprehending the Dao of Formations was not easy, and going into another person’s domain to set up formations was also incomparably difficult.

This could only remain a thought.

Within the Game of All Beings, Lin Moyu fully devoted himself to comprehending the rules, and with each victory he gained more and more.

The rules within the Game of All Beings were not meant to let Lin Moyu comprehend the Dao, but were rather a kind of refinement of the Game of All Beings itself.

From the very beginning, Lin Moyu had known that the Game of All Beings was an extremely powerful treasure; it was only that its method of refinement was extremely special.

The basic refinement merely allowed it to evolve the game.

The true refinement lay in comprehending the rules within the game.

Only after all of the rules were understood would the final refinement be complete, and only then could this treasure be truly driven.

Lin Moyu was now ever closer to fully grasping the rules, with very little left undone.

In the blink of an eye, another hundred years passed, and the soul mote that Lin Moyu had left in the Hongmeng Heaven and Earth was awakened by a deep sigh.

The sigh resounded throughout the heaven and earth, causing the entire Hongmeng Heaven and Earth to tremble.

In an instant, countless living beings within the Hongmeng Heaven and Earth

from tiny snakes, insects, rats, and ants to colossal ancient beasts

all knelt down.

They offered their most devout faith to the Lord of Heaven and Earth.

Boundless faith power gathered like a sea and surged forth.

The soul mote watched this scene and transmitted it back to the main body.

“This level of faith power is unprecedented.

“Although there are many living beings in my Ten Directions Domain, compared to those of an entire heaven and earth, they are still far inferior.

“The first batch of living beings in the Yushen Heaven and Earth has not yet been born, and even when they are, they will still be completely incomparable.”

“As expected of a Hongmeng Heaven and Earth.

“Just this single aspect of its foundation is already astonishing enough.”

The soul mote had once flown across the entire Hongmeng Heaven and Earth.

He knew how many living beings there were within it so many that they could not be counted.

Now all of these beings were offering their faith power to the Lord of Heaven and Earth, becoming nourishment for this peak powerhouse and enabling him to complete his final recovery.

With the support of faith power, once revived he could directly return to his peak without any need for adjustment.

“Still lacking a bit; more time needs to be bought.”

Lin Moyu’s heart stirred, and the runes previously laid throughout the Hongmeng Heaven and Earth immediately activated.

Boom!

The world shook, and the flow of faith power was instantly affected and violently cut off.

Right after, an angry roar resounded through the skies.

“Courting death!”

With the roar, the soul mote was struck and blown apart on the spot.

At the same time, the clone of Lin Moyu located in the deepest part of the Ancient Desolation activated the formations.

A vast power surged up from the deepest part of the Ancient Desolation, and the formation started, tearing space apart.

The opening connected to the Ancient Desolation was forcibly shattered, and miserable screams echoed from within as the Di Ting beast ancestor was struck.

The opening shattered, but it was not completely erased.

A powerful force protected it.

“Unable to erase it, I can only delay it.”

“Fortunately, preparations were made beforehand.”

With a thought from Lin Moyu, all of the formations in the Chaotic Ancient Desolation fully activated.

The central region spanning billions of li at the deepest part of the Ancient Desolation was forcibly cut away.

Doing this would harm the Chaotic Ancient Desolation, but Lin Moyu could no longer care about so much.

Suddenly, from that shattered opening, countless vast auras poured out.

They were the unique auras of the Hongmeng Heaven and Earth, turning into ghostly threads that forcibly tried to reconnect with the Chaotic Ancient Desolation.

Lin Moyu’s brows furrowed.

“Sis, make a move!”

“One Sword to Cleave the Heavens!”

Sword light swept forth, as though to cleave heaven and earth into two.

Great amounts of aura pouring out from the Hongmeng Heaven and Earth were sliced apart, but in the very next second, even more Hongmeng aura surged in.

Lin Moyu swung his great hand.

The Calamity Scepter smashed through the void and arrived.

Grasping the Calamity Scepter, he struck down fiercely, shattering another large swath of aura.

Yet right after, the void itself shattered.

Countless rifts appeared at the deepest part of the Ancient Desolation, and a massive volume of Hongmeng aura poured in, turning into thin threads that tried to seize and bind the Chaotic Ancient Desolation.

Lin Mohan swung her sword and cut them apart, but every time she destroyed one batch, another would arrive.

Lin Moyu said, “Stop. I will handle it.

“That fellow has not fully awakened yet.

“We still have time.

“Leave it to me.”

As he spoke, countless runes flew out.

Lin Moyu began arranging a special grand formation.

It’s a sad day and a good day.

Catastrophic Necromancer is finally over.

Honestly, this is something Against the Gods and Martial God Asura should learn from. I’ve been reading those for over 10 years now, with no end in sight.

I originally started translating this novel because I genuinely hated the existing translations. I used NovelFire mostly as a convenience tool to read on the go. I began this project about two years ago, so yes it’s been a long while, and it’s honestly kind of hard to stomach that it’s over.

Along the way, I loved seeing other people pick this story up with me. Even though I didn’t really participate in discussions, I read all your theories and ideas. Some of you were spot on, and others had ideas that would’ve been really interesting if applied. It’s been a fun ride.

I’m open to suggestions for my next translation project, so don’t be shy. If I find something interesting, I’ll do it.

To my paid subscribers: thank you so much for supporting me. I know for some of you it wasn’t a small amount, and your help meant a lot during a tough time in my life. I truly appreciate it.

I’ve also set up a new Ko-fi page, and hopefully it stays up:👉 ko-fi.com/tokisworldIf anyone would like to donate, you’re more than welcome.

Overall, thank you for accompanying me on this journey.

FYI for my readers on NovelFire i will release 3 Chapters a day till completion

Toki out.
