Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 4613: Enemy and Friend

Faced with Lin Moyu’s gifts, Purple Star Sovereign could only accept them they were all things she couldn’t refuse.

The Primordial Qi was already significant, but the core of the world’s remains was something she had never dared even imagine.

After years spent fighting in this dangerous land, her total harvest was nowhere near the unexpected bounty Lin Moyu bestowed.

Especially the foundation for future Sovereign breakthrough not an instant breakthrough, but a preparation that was infinitely precious.

Having finished speaking, Lin Moyu paid Purple Star Sovereign no more attention, knowing she could not reject him.

Turning to Ning Yiyi and the others, he said, “Let me see how your injuries are.”

Their wounds had not fully healed; some were so deeply ingrained that total recovery would take considerable time.

But soon, when they entered his own world and were nourished by Primordial Qi, full recovery wouldn’t take long.

From talking with Ning Yiyi and the others, Lin Moyu learned Purple Star Sovereign hadn’t truly endangered them these years.

Whenever real danger arose, Purple Star Sovereign handled it herself she genuinely regarded Ning Yiyi and company as her own kin.

Even if she had selfish motives, she had never wronged them.

Lin Moyu saw in their eyes that they respected Purple Star Sovereign and held no resentment.

Otherwise, he would’ve dealt out a different “gift” with his fists.

Lin Mohan still needed time to finish her absorption and transformation.

After chatting a bit, Lin Moyu again approached Purple Star Sovereign:

“Senior Purple Star, after you leave here, what will you do?”

Purple Star Sovereign replied:

“I’ll just go on as before, as if he’s dead.”

Lin Moyu shook his head.

“You may not have been out for a long time. He may already have resurrected in another form but that’s not his true self. The real one is still hiding in the shadows.”

Purple Star Sovereign said:

“If he’s ’back,’ then we’ll play along and watch his next move wait for the right moment to act.”

Lin Moyu said:

“He had me refine a battle formation, but I intentionally left a Northern Pole formation untouched. I want to ask about the real purpose of these formations just who among you are truly allies, and who are opponents?”

“He told me there were other Sovereigns opposing him, but I haven’t found any real enemies yet.”

Purple Star Sovereign replied:

“Sword Sovereign left early, so there are things even she doesn’t know. But since you ask, I’ll explain:”

“The Sovereign of Boyang Central Domain, and I am from the Ancient Wilds. Don’t be surprised Sovereigns can exist in the Ancient Wilds too. I was born in Central Domain, but achieved Dao in Ancient Wilds.

“There’s also White Zhong Sovereign from Upper Domain, and Blood Sovereign from Lower Domain.”

“Besides us four, there are several quasi Sovereigns Sword Sovereign among them, as well as Central Domain’s Divine Phoenix Sovereign (currently feigning death, awaiting nirvana),

another quasi Sovereign in Central Domain, Brahma Qing in Upper Domain, and two quasi Sovereigns in the Void.

“The quasi Sovereigns of Lower Domain are mysterious; I don’t know their names, but I’m sure there are some Lower Domain is his main base, after all.”

Lin Moyu paused. “He’s from Lower Domain?”

Purple Star Sovereign laughed.

“That’s right. He’s from Lower Domain, but his Dao achievement is strange and not quite all in Chaos; it has some connection to Ancient Wilds as well.”

“Then there’s Star Sovereign of Western Extreme, as well as two quasi Sovereigns who keep neutral and don’t take sides.”

“Northern Extreme’s Night Cold Sovereign and two quasi Sovereigns

They disagree with him but never fully oppose; they’re fence sitters.”

“And finally, Eastern Extreme’s September and her brother Ninth quasi Sovereign both strongly oppose him, as do two other quasi Sovereigns in Eastern Extreme.”

“But we’re stronger opposition can’t stop us.”

Lin Moyu asked, “And what about Southern Extreme’s Gold Sovereign?”

Purple Star Sovereign replied:

“There’s only Gold Sovereign in Southern Extreme, no quasi Sovereign. He’s trapped there and can’t leave whether present or absent is the same.”

“Long ago, it was said Gold Sovereign’s identity is out of the ordinary he cannot be lured over and is best not to provoke.”

“And, by the way, there’s a pact between him and Gold Sovereign.”

Lin Moyu said:

“I’ve fulfilled that pact; soon, Gold Sovereign will be free to choose his path.”

Purple Star Sovereign nodded:

“I’ve dealt with him near the Southern Extreme Worm Stele. He’s strong no advantage even back then.

He’s been stuck there a long time, but never stopped cultivating; who knows how powerful he’s become by now.

His worms are everywhere, maybe he’s already waiting for a fated day to escape.”

Gold Sovereign is truly extraordinary formerly Gold Sun Deity Lord, among the rare few who survived wave after wave of catastrophe.

Gold Sovereign always felt like one who had seen everything,

had no real attachment to the world; sometimes, a crazed light flashed in his eyes.

That’s the scariest part when a top Sovereign loses all attachment to the world and is mad enough.

Who knows what he might do to creation itself.

“But that’s a story for later,” Lin Moyu said. “It seems he has more allies and more power on his side.”

Purple Star Sovereign said:

“That’s only natural; otherwise this scheme wouldn’t have lasted so many ages.”

Lin Moyu asked, “You haven’t told me the real purpose of those formations?”

Purple Star Sovereign shook her head:

“If I knew, I’d have told you. Only he and Blood Sovereign fully know; they’re the closest.”

“A lot of things, only those two understand.”

Lin Moyu said:

“I visited Lower Domain and saw that my sister left a legacy there.”

Purple Star Sovereign replied:

“In her day, Sword Sovereign’s fame shook the world; after she self destructed, her sword intent scattered through the chaos, found by many.

But in Lower Domain, Sword Sovereign truly left a legacy.”

“It was his suggestion: if self destruction failed, the legacy could help restore consciousness, even fish someone out of reincarnation.

Looking back now, that wasn’t really the case.”

Lin Moyu frowned he heard something hidden in her words.

Purple Star Sovereign began to elaborate, but Lin Mohan interrupted:

“He had me leave a soul fragment in Lower Domain if anything went wrong, it could save me.

But after returning, I went looking for it; it was gone.

Doesn’t matter, though once I break through, that fragment means nothing; he can’t use it to threaten me.”

Lin Moyu laughed, “Sis, just focus on your breakthrough don’t be distracted.”

Still, he thought:

After Lin Mohan’s breakthrough, the soul fragment would be less important.

But if Calamity Sovereign still had time essence stones, he could use the fragment to find Lin Mohan’s past and attack from there.

As long as Lin Mohan breaks through, those attacks will be much weaker not a big issue.

With these thoughts, Lin Moyu was reassured; in the end, strength is what matters.
