Chapter 932: Accepted but Unable to Complete, and Failure Too

Lin Moyu accepted the task:

[Level 3 Task: Clear the Vermilion Bird 000077 non-life star system.]

[In the Vermilion Bird 000077 non-life star system, a batch of special lifeforms has been born and needs to be cleared out. Retrieve the crystal cores of these lifeforms as proof.]

[Restriction: Do not cause major damage to the star system.]

[Completion Condition: Clear at least 100 special lifeforms within 10 days.]

[Note: The special lifeforms range from super god sixth tier to super god seventh tier in strength. Their leader is at the super god eighth tier. The special lifeforms have weak attack power but strong vitality.]

After accepting the task, the detailed task information was displayed.

Before accepting, only a general description could be seen.

The detailed information is only visible after accepting the task.

By then, if you find the task too difficult to complete, it’s too late to regret.

Tasks cannot be canceled; you can only wait for the time to pass and fail the task.

It’s said that failing a task will result in punishment, but Lin Moyu is not clear about the specifics of the punishment.

This is to make people learn to be discerning and not act recklessly.

After accepting the task, it appeared in Lin Moyu’s list of ongoing tasks.

At the same time, a chain task also appeared in the task list.

Chain tasks start from level three and automatically appear in the task list without needing to be accepted separately.

Everyone receives this chain task.

The chain task starts as soon as it is received.

[Chain Task (1): Complete ten level 3 tasks. A comprehensive score will be given based on the completion rate of each task.]

Completing ten level 3 tasks doesn’t seem too difficult.

After all, he would have to complete many tasks anyway to upgrade his permissions.

The key is what comes after: a comprehensive score will be given based on the completion rate of the ten tasks.

According to Domain Master Zhu Tian, the chain task is very important.

Although he didn’t explicitly say it, Lin Moyu could sense the importance from his tone.

Gu Qingxuan had also mentioned something similar before, that the task of guiding him was part of a chain task, which seemed to be related to entering the Divine City.

Entering the Divine City is the dream of every cultivator of the human race, and Lin Moyu is no exception.

Finding a teleportation array, Lin Moyu headed to the Vermilion Bird 000077 non-life star system.

The distance was 53 light-years, costing 5 points.

With Lin Moyu’s current wealth of 18,069 points, he didn’t even blink at the cost of 5 points.

Recalling how Gu Qingxuan had spent 100 points and looked so pained, Lin Moyu found it amusing.

The main reason was that he had no expenses at all.

He didn’t buy materials or pills.

That’s why his points kept accumulating.

If he had bought some materials, his points would have drained quickly.

The amount of materials he had was far from enough.

The teleportation speed was fixed at 1 light-year per second, without any deviation.

53 seconds later, Lin Moyu had arrived at his destination.

A massive teleportation array stood in the starry sky, moving along with the star system while maintaining a fixed distance from it.

Lively voices reached his ears.

Many cultivators were chatting in the starry sky, exchanging experiences.

This task covered a wide range, involving dozens of nearby life star systems.

After accepting the task, many cultivators had come here, making the area around the teleportation array quite lively.

Lin Moyu saw many super god eighth tier cultivators and even some super god ninth tier cultivators.

Not a single true god was in sight.

Most people were still willing to follow the task’s suggestions.

Lin Moyu, a super god third tier, stood out here.

His presence immediately drew the attention of many.

“Why is he only a super god third tier?”

“A super god third tier who has already reached level 3 permissions, he must be one of those fools who only know how to do tasks.”

“Does he think level 3 tasks are the same as level 2?”

“It’s been many years since someone like this appeared, right?”

“What an idiot. Even if he reaches level 3 permissions, he should cultivate diligently first and improve his strength before doing tasks. With this task, he accepted it but can’t complete it, and he’ll end up failing.”

A kind-hearted person approached Lin Moyu, “Brother Lin, did you accept the clearing task?”

The person’s name was Zhao Yongan, a super god ninth tier with a kind appearance.

Lin Moyu slightly bowed to him, “Yes, I accepted the clearing task.”

Zhao Yongan sighed, “Brother Lin, do you know that if you fail the task, you’ll be punished?”

Lin Moyu nodded, “I’ve heard.”

Zhao Yongan asked further, “Then why did you accept it?”

Lin Moyu smiled, “Thank you for your concern, senior, but I should be able to complete this task.”

After speaking, Lin Moyu bowed to Zhao Yongan again and then flew towards the star system.

After flying for a distance, he took out the God-Slaying Fortress and transformed into a streak of lightning, speeding away.

Zhao Yongan sighed, “What a pity.”

“Old Zhao, why bother with someone like that? Let him go to his death if he wants to.”

“Exactly, an ignorant little fellow who doesn’t know the heights of heaven and the depths of earth. He’s only a super god third tier, yet he wants to accept a task for the super god eighth tier.”

“Even if he has extraordinary strength and can challenge higher levels, at most he can challenge the super god fourth or fifth tier.”

“I’ve heard that every year, there are ignorant people who come here to die. It’s normal for a few to die when there are so many.”

Zhao Yongan said, “I just hope he’s smart enough to know his limits and retreat.”

There were many people doing tasks inside the star system. If Lin Moyu was smart enough, he might be able to ask for help and save his life.

The God-Slaying Fortress carried Lin Moyu into the star system.

The Vermilion Bird 000077 non-life star system was much larger than any star system Lin Moyu had seen before.

A total of twenty-eight massive stars floated within the star system, orbiting two suns.

The two suns also orbited each other.

Additionally, there were countless fragments of shattered stars within the star system.

Lin Moyu didn’t know how they had shattered.

The entire star system gave Lin Moyu a sense of oppression.

He didn’t know what the special lifeforms in the star system were like.

The task didn’t specify, and Lin Moyu didn’t want to ask.

Just like Zhao Yongan earlier, he didn’t want to waste time explaining to him.

The task time was only ten days.

And based on Lin Moyu’s understanding of tasks, the faster he completed it, the better.

Although the final point reward would be the same, the evaluation might differ.

Because there was a chain task after this, and the first step of the chain task was to complete ten tasks and receive a comprehensive evaluation based on the completion of those ten tasks.

So Lin Moyu didn’t want to explain anything to Zhao Yongan; he wanted to complete the task first.

His gaze focused slightly, and the Undying Law rolled in his palm.

The special lifeforms were also lifeforms.

Lin Moyu was highly sensitive to the aura of life, and through the Undying Law, he quickly locked onto the first target.
