Chapter 911: Emergency Mission, The Curse on the Life Star

Zhu Laosan reported the information about Lin Moyu to the City Lord. Lin

Soon, the City Lord replied.

The general idea was to observe further and see how Lin Moyu performed in the future.

Zhu Laosan understood the City Lord’s caution. Many geniuses show strong initial performance but fade into mediocrity later on.

The City Lord’s decision to take on a disciple was a significant matter and could not be rushed.

However, the City Lord also informed the Hall Master of the War God Hall, ensuring that they would not approach Lin Moyu for the time being.

Just like everyone else, Lin Moyu was given the freedom to develop on his own.

After receiving the message, Zhu Laosan pondered for a moment and murmured, “Let’s allow him to develop freely for now, but we can’t let him be completely unsupervised. We still need to keep an eye on him.”

“We can assign him some tasks to help him quickly improve his permissions.”

“We must ensure that the people from the War God Hall do not come into contact with him.”

Zhu Laosan issued several orders, and immediately, someone was sent to the Vermilion Bird 98-1 star system where Lin Moyu was located.

For ten consecutive days, Lin Moyu stayed in the forging room without moving an inch.

Ten days later, the door of the forging room opened, and Lin Moyu walked out.

His energy and spirit were intact, showing no signs of the weakness that typically follows soul forging.

Usually, after using soul power for forging, people feel weak and powerless due to the excessive consumption of soul power, requiring a significant amount of time to recover.

However, Lin Moyu showed no signs of fatigue, and his energy and spirit remained at their peak.

Lin Moyu was in a great mood, having successfully completed his first true forging.

The soul armor was already forged and worn on his soul.

The soul armor, made from Starfire Gold Essence, was fiery red all over.

Lin Moyu’s soul felt the warmth brought by the soul armor, feeling very comfortable.

Starfire Gold Essence, like Starfire Gold, also had the effect of enhancing the quality of the soul.

Unfortunately, Lin Moyu’s soul quality was too high for this effect to manifest.

With the soul armor, his soul defense was greatly enhanced.

Now, even if a God King launched a soul attack on him, it might not be able to kill him.

“Let’s go check out the pill center.”

With this thought, Lin Moyu used the teleportation array to go to the pill center.

The pill center was always enveloped in the scent of various medicinal herbs.

The fragrance of the herbs was refreshing.

However, Lin Moyu knew nothing about pill forging, so after a brief tour, he left.

With second-level permissions, the pills available for purchase were limited and not very effective.

Most of them were healing pills, but Lin Moyu had little need for them.

After leaving the pill center, Lin Moyu returned to the task center.

He had his own plan. In the coming days, he would continuously complete tasks to improve his permissions and level.

He aimed to upgrade his permissions to level three as quickly as possible.

With third-level permissions, the range of teleportation would greatly increase, exceeding 100 light-years.

This would be several dozen times more than his current range.

At that time, he could take on more tasks, and the points rewarded for each task would also be higher.

Back at the task center, Lin Moyu began to browse the tasks.

There were only so many tasks available for second-level permissions, and high-point tasks were even rarer.

After browsing through them, Lin Moyu selected a few material-gathering tasks.

The requirements and rewards were similar to those for finding Starfire Gold.

One task was particularly unique, involving the search for a peculiar creature called the Stone Fragment Worm.

Stone Fragment Worms usually lived in shattered stars.

They almost never left the shattered stars where they were born.

Leaving would mean death for them.

The task required finding the Stone Fragment Worms, recording their coordinates, and uploading the information to the Human Emperor Network. Someone would then come to collect the Stone Fragment Worms.

This task also offered a reward of 100 points, which Lin Moyu was eager to take on.

Suddenly, a new task appeared in the task list, jumping to the top of all tasks. Emergency Mission: Investigate the anomaly on Vermilion Bird 105-3 Life Star.

The detailed information of the task would only be available after accepting it.

Moreover, only 1000 people were allowed to accept this task.

Without hesitation, Lin Moyu accepted the task immediately.

He now understood that there were many types of tasks.

The most common were regular tasks, like the two he had previously completed.

In addition to these, there were special tasks and emergency tasks.

Generally, emergency tasks offered the best rewards among the various types of tasks.

Emergency tasks were often sudden events, directly issued by the Human Emperor Network.

After accepting the task, Lin Moyu saw the detailed information.

On Vermilion Bird 105-3 Life Star, a large number of humans had died for unknown reasons, and many others had fallen ill with strange diseases.

Cultivators were needed to investigate.

The reward calculation for this task was different from other tasks.

This task would involve 1000 people, each conducting their own investigation.

The rewards would vary based on the degree of task completion and contribution.

The specific rewards would be calculated and distributed after the task was completed.

The task only provided a reward range, from no reward to 1000 points.

After accepting the task, Lin Moyu immediately headed to the nearest teleportation array.

He was joined by at least fifty others who had also secured the task.

This emergency task issued by the Human Emperor Network was open to several nearby star systems, allowing all cultivators with second-level permissions to accept it.

However, the number of participants was limited to 1000.

Those who managed to secure a spot were quick and sharp-eyed.

The teleportation array operated quickly, sending them one by one to the 105 star system. The distance of 10 to 20 light-years required 2 points per teleportation.

The cost doubled with the distance.

Teleporting to a life star system had the advantage of directly reaching the destination.

Unlike non-life star systems, where one could only teleport to the outskirts and then use flying devices to enter.

Lin Moyu directly teleported to Vermilion Bird 105-3 Life Star. As soon as he left the teleportation array, he frowned.

“Such a strong aura of death.”

“This is the power of a curse.”

Lin Moyu was secretly shocked. This life star was actually surrounded by the power of a curse.

“Don’t block the teleportation array, move aside.” A voice called out, and Lin Moyu immediately stepped aside.

The teleportation array continued to light up, with more people teleporting over.

More and more super gods arrived, and discussions filled the air, “Why can’t I sense any life aura on this life star?”

“I feel a strong curse power. This kind of power shouldn’t appear on a life star.”

“Someone has cast a vicious curse on this life star!”

“It’s the work of aliens!”
