What if your Honkai Star Rail was like this?

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: This Isn’t the March 7th I Know! (edited)

”You okay? Can you hear me? Do you remember your name?”

March 7th leaned close to Stelle’s face, her voice calm and serious as she asked, ”Are you alright?”

Unbeknownst to her, Stelle’s brain had already short-circuited.

Is this really March 7th?!

”No reaction... was her brain injured by the Voidrangers...” March 7th propped her chin on her hand. ”Dan Heng, we need to take her to a safe place.”

”I’m fine. Hello, my name is Stelle, zero years old...” Stelle replied somewhat dazedly.

To be honest, it felt pretty awkward for him, a guy, to introduce himself or herself using Stelle’s body.

March 7th looked Stelle up and down, then said to Dan Heng, ”Dan Heng, this girl doesn’t seem quite right in the head. She says she’s zero years old.”

Dan Heng was silent for a moment. ”Perhaps she’s joking?”

”Hisss—”

While the group was talking, the roar of a monster suddenly rang out. A squad of Voidrangers seemed to have discovered them and immediately charged, brandishing their blades.

”Get behind me!”

March 7th shouted lightly. A long spear materialized in her hand. Her attack was swift and fierce; the spear spun 360 degrees, carrying immense force, and smashed heavily onto the lead Voidranger’s head.

Bang!

The struck Voidranger let out a wretched scream, directly played its defeat animation, its entire body collapsing into a ball before disappearing.

Stelle: ???

Tell me, which version of Star Rail is this?!

Whose March 7th uses the Cloud Piercer?! Is this a March 7th on the Path of Destruction?!

Stelle stiffly turned his head. If March 7th was equipped with the Cloud Piercer, then Dan Heng...

He wouldn’t use a bow instead, would he?

”Do you have a problem?” Dan Heng asked coldly.

”Uh... I wanted to ask, aren’t you going to help her? Like, with a bow or something?”

”I don’t use a bow.” Dan Heng said expressionlessly.

”Oh, oh, oh, that puts my mind at ease then...”

”Dan Heng!”

March 7th called out sharply, ”The Antimatter Legion nearby are all being drawn here! Prepare to retreat!”

”Received.”

Dan Heng nodded, then, to Stelle’s bewildered expression, pulled out an antique bronze gourd.

Stelle’s mind conjured the image of a certain cute little dragon maid, and this image gradually overlapped with the Dan Heng before him...

It doesn’t match! This just doesn’t match at all!

”Life, death, reality, illusion, all but a single thought...”

Before Stelle could even process it, Dan Heng was already chanting incantations to use his skill. The next second, a water dragon suddenly burst forth from the gourd, intercepting the swarming Voidrangers on one side of the passage.

Meanwhile, March 7th stepped upon the waves. The tip of her spear glimmered with points of ice crystals. With a light sweep, she solidified the water dragon into a physical barrier, completely blocking the Voidrangers’ path.

After finishing all this, March 7th finally put away the Cloud Piercer, executed a backflip, and landed gracefully beside the two of them, saying lightly, ”Solved.”

Martial - March 7th and Strategic - Dan Heng? Why am I having such a dream?

Stelle blinked. ”May I ask, are you the March 7th and Dan Heng from the Astral Express?”

SHe felt it necessary to confirm the storyline.

The two exchanged a glance. Dan Heng cleared his throat lightly. ”Since you’ve heard of us, I’ll keep it brief. The space station is currently under attack by the Antimatter Legion. We of the Astral Express, responding to a request for aid from Station Lead Asta, are here to help...”

(Omitting a large amount of exposition below)

Stelle wasn’t in the mood to listen to what followed. SHe only knew that these two people before her were indeed Dan Heng and March.

”...In short, for your personal safety, please come with us for now,” Dan Heng said. ”There seems to be a weapon over there. You can use it for self-defense for the time being.”

This part of the plot was relatively normal. In theory, I should pick up the baseball bat, and then...

And then, Stelle saw the assault laser rifles, polymer lightsabers, force amplifiers... scattered all over the ground.

At the same time, elsewhere.

”Firefly, I remember you brought a lot of weapons this time. Were they all equipped onto SAM?”

”Ah? Not really. I was just worried that Stelle might not adapt well after losing her memory. It wouldn’t be good if she encountered danger.”

”...Are you sure she can handle that many weapons by herself?”

”Uh... Stelle can definitely do it.”

As she spoke, Firefly suddenly stopped. ”But I’m still a bit worried. Maybe we should go back and check on her.”

Blade glanced outside the window at the increasing number of Voidrangers and said sternly, ”No. If we go back now, we’ll run into the main force of the Antimatter Legion.”

”But, didn’t Kafka say, ’Anything not written into Elio’s script is unimportant’?”

”...Kafka has many good qualities. You don’t need to only learn this one.”

”But aren’t you concerned about Stelle? She’s like a newborn child right now. I’m really worried.”

Blade suddenly regretted taking on this mission. Clearly, this was Kafka and Silver Wolf’s job, but one was grounded by Elio, and the other outright requested leave to play games, forcing the task onto him.

Stelle’s safety? What did that have to do with him? Stelle just lost her memory, it’s not like she became stupid. What could a few Voidrangers do to her?

This Firefly was also baffling. Although he knew some relationships among young people these days were a bit special, surely it didn’t warrant acting like a worried mother?

Seems like many years ago, there was also a certain foxian girl who liked to act like this. Tch...

”Just one look.” Blade held his sword, succinctly stating his stance.

”Thank you, Blade!”

...I have a bad feeling about this.

Blade rubbed the spot between his eyebrows, his face expressionless. Whatever. No matter how bad the premonition is, it can’t be worse than Imbibitor Lunae.

Just thinking about that guy made his hands itch. He really wondered where in the galaxy that guy was now...

...

Stelle finally managed to find her baseball bat among the pile of strange weapons, only to find that even it had started acting up.

”Welcome to experience ’Honkai: Star Rail - Special Edition’. To ensure your enjoyable gameplay, we have implanted a ’Golden Finger’ effect into this baseball bat for you.”

”When encountering a crisis, the Golden Finger effect will automatically activate. No matter how great the difficulty you face, this effect will ensure you have the ability to overcome every plot point.”

A voice abruptly rang out in her mind, causing Stelle to freeze.

Golden Finger?

Thank heavens! Finally something slightly normal. Otherwise, with her fragile strength, she really didn’t know how she was going to get through the subsequent plot.

”Stelle, we should go,” March 7th said. ”There are too many Legion lackeys. To get back to the Master Control Zone, we must wait for Arlan to bring support. Once he arrives, you’ll be safe.”

”But don’t worry. Until then, if you encounter danger, just hide behind me. I will protect you.”

March 7th casually brushed her short hair, her expression calm, but her tone carried undeniable confidence.

Stelle smiled awkwardly, then suddenly felt something was wrong.

Wait, according to the normal plot, shouldn’t they be going to rescue Arlan at this point?

What the heck is ’wait for Arlan to bring support’? The world’s turned upside down?
