God's Imitator

Not long after, the others also got up one by one.

They each came to the hall, ordered different foods, and gathered in small groups to chat.

Fu Chen first found Cai Zhiyuan.

After Cai Zhiyuan thought briefly for a moment, he got up and called Li Renshu and Cao Haichuan, bringing them into a small conference room to the side of the hall.

This building had many small compartments of different sizes, each with different layouts, seemingly encouraging people to use them for different purposes.

Lin Sizhi was the last to be called over.

”I want to discuss with everyone whether there’s a way to help Uncle Ding.”

Fu Chen didn’t beat around the bush and concisely explained the problem Ding Wenqiang was facing.

”The reason I didn’t say this in public is mainly because this matter somewhat involves Uncle Ding’s privacy. I’m afraid he’d lose face and refuse our good intentions.

”With too many people, the discussion would also be chaotic.”So I wanted to ask everyone to discuss privately first, roughly come up with a plan, and if it’s feasible, then we’ll go convince the others.”

Fu Chen looked at the other four people present.

Cai Zhiyuan shook his head, ”I don’t think it can work.

”Strictly prohibiting any direct or indirect trading activities related to visa time between players is a basic community rule.

”That means, suppose I bought a fried rice, pretended to leave it aside, and then Uncle Ding ate it, this would also be a violation.

”Depending on the severity of the violation, the light punishment is deduction of visa time, the heavy punishment is direct expulsion from the community.

”I think it’s better not to dance on a minefield.”

Obviously, Cai Zhiyuan had an extremely rational personality.

When considering anything, he would prioritize feasibility and probability, even unconsciously filtering out human emotional fluctuations.

Perhaps this was also some kind of occupational hazard of programmers?

However, Lin Sizhi had always felt that although Cai Zhiyuan possessed certain characteristics of programmers, he was completely different from the stereotypical impression of ”dull and honest” that ordinary programmers gave people.

Fu Chen looked at Cao Haichuan, ”Officer Cao, what do you think?”

Cao Haichuan shrugged, ”You’re asking the wrong person about these things. I’m a rough person. Apart from solving cases and handling some trivial conflicts, I don’t know anything else.

”I think if we can avoid violating game rules, we should try our best not to violate them.

”Next time the Gallery opens, if one of us is lucky enough to be grouped with Ding Wenqiang, we can just give him a hand.”

Li Renshu kept her head down with furrowed brows, not giving a quick conclusion like Cai Zhiyuan and Cao Haichuan had.

”Although I can’t think of a good solution right now, I think establishing some kind of community security system as soon as possible is still very necessary.

”This isn’t just for Uncle Ding alone, but also for ourselves.

”Uncle Ding currently has the shortest visa time, but what about in the future?

”Who can guarantee they’ll never lose all their visa time in games? Or get injured?

”The Gallery very likely has some extremely dangerous games, and each of us could potentially become a burden to the community.

”If we can find a way to solve the eating problem, this is equivalent to establishing some kind of basic security in the community. From a long-term perspective, it actually enhances the entire community’s risk resistance.”

Cai Zhiyuan was silent for a moment, then reluctantly said, ”Mm, that makes sense too.”

Obviously, he acknowledged Li Renshu’s ”reasoning,” that is, he believed that if there really was such a security mechanism, it could indeed care for the weak and enhance the community’s overall risk resistance.

But he didn’t think he would be that weak person.

Everyone present fell into silence. Obviously, what lay before them was something that should be done and would benefit everyone if done, but this matter seemed almost impossible to accomplish.

Fu Chen looked at Lin Sizhi, ”Lawyer Lin, what’s your opinion?”

Lin Sizhi considered for a moment, ”I think that although the community rules seem very rigid, there might not be no way to circumvent them.”

As soon as these words were spoken, a glimmer of hope flashed in Fu Chen’s eyes, ”Really? Explain in detail?”

The other three were also somewhat surprised, because Lin Sizhi had always been a reliable person in their eyes who wouldn’t speak carelessly. These words should have some degree of certainty.

But rules were rules.

Lin Sizhi paused slightly, ”Does everyone remember that we encountered people from Community 3 in the game?

”The reason Jiang He and the others suffered big losses at first was because the four players from Community 3 had already formed a very tight organization.

”But thinking about it afterwards, this actually doesn’t make sense.

”In the game, even players from the same community don’t have much basis for cooperation. Because there’s only one winner at the poker table, and the chips won are hard to distribute to others.

”In other words, there would be problems with ’dividing the spoils.’

”But in the game, the other three players willingly played supporting roles, losing their chips to Lu Xinyi.”

Cai Zhiyuan thought about it, ”Perhaps it was similar to PUA or mind control techniques?”

Lin Sizhi shook his head slightly, ”This possibility is unlikely.

”I’m more inclined to believe that the players from Community 3 mastered some method to distribute visa time among community members internally.

”Only this way could their interests be tied together, establishing a more solid alliance.”

Everyone fell into contemplation. Obviously, this specific example was quite convincing.

Lin Sizhi continued, ”Prohibiting any direct or indirect trading activities related to ’visa time’ is written in the basic community rules, so of course it can’t be violated.

”But we might be able to find a way to circumvent it.

”First, the only thing that can counter basic rules is another basic rule, so we should look for solutions in other basic rules.

”Second, we need to nitpick the wording. As long as the method we come up with doesn’t count as ’trading behavior,’ then it doesn’t violate the regulations.”

Li Renshu looked thoughtful, ”Not counting as trading behavior, but still being able to redistribute our excess visa time to those with less time...”

Cai Zhiyuan still didn’t quite understand, ”Is there really such a method?”

Li Renshu and Cao Haichuan looked at each other. Obviously, both of them had simultaneously guessed the answer.

”There is.”

Li Renshu said seriously, ”Before money is distributed to each person’s hands, first deducting a certain proportion and redistributing it uniformly is not considered trading behavior. In real society, we generally call this thing taxation and social welfare security.”

Cai Zhiyuan suddenly understood.

Taxation and welfare security were things that already existed in real society, but after coming to this so-called ’New World,’ Cai Zhiyuan had temporarily overlooked them.

Conceptually speaking, taxation and welfare security indeed didn’t count as trading behavior, and indeed could provide the most basic living security for low-income groups, which completely aligned with their motives.

At this point, everyone almost simultaneously thought of what method to use.

”The second article of the basic community guidelines, propose a motion!”

When introducing the basic rules earlier, this method had actually been mentioned.

Simply put, everyone could propose motions to the community. After passing review, all community members would vote on them.

When more than half voted in favor, that is, at least 7 people needed to agree, then this motion could be implemented.

Fu Chen nodded slightly, ”That means we can propose a motion about ’community minimum security.’

”However, this motion obviously can’t be proposed casually, because it first needs to pass community review.

”It can’t violate basic community rules, and at the same time, it needs to have a certain degree of operability.”

Cai Zhiyuan had a sudden inspiration, ”What if we propose that the community distribute ten thousand minutes of visa time to each of us every day?”

Officer Cao shook his head, ”It probably won’t pass review. We can most likely only distribute visa time we already have. Trying to use this rule to fleece the community is obviously wishful thinking.”

Cai Zhiyuan agreed, ”Mm, I guess that’s right. But we can also try. Even if it doesn’t pass review, at least there’s no obvious loss.”
