I Can See Experience Points

Chapter 162: Chapter 161: [Human Face - Cowardice Ascendant - Peak Sunflower Life - Sunflower]

He Xiaotian and Shouyangzi exchanged a glance, then both shot out like the wind, heading straight for the small path.

The Blade-seller, holding his ghost-headed blade, suddenly realized he seemed to be free.

So, he said to Feng Yu, whose head was sticking out of the ground, ”My friend, I’ll be taking my leave. Once my golden blade completes its transformation, I’ll be sure to let you have a look.”

Feng Yu: ”...”

He desperately wanted to jump up and punch the Blade-seller right in the face.

’What the hell are you talking about?!’

”SWISH!”

”???” The Blade-seller heard the sound of something cutting through the air behind him and turned his head. To his surprise, it was He Xiaotian, who had already left, now staring at him with a mischievous grin. ”Big bro, didn’t you leave?”

’My plan hasn’t even started, why did you suddenly come back?!’

’This isn’t how the script was supposed to go!’

”I was worried you’d take the chance to escape. If that happened, wouldn’t I be out twenty Spiritual Energy Crystals?” As his voice fell, He Xiaotian placed a hand on the Blade-seller’s shoulder.

Instantly sensing that things were about to go south, the Blade-seller forced a smile.

”Please don’t, I’ll be good...”

Before he could finish, a tremendous force slammed down on his shoulder.

”BOOM!”

Well now, the Blade-seller had followed in Feng Yu’s footsteps.

His entire body was driven into the ground, leaving only his head exposed.

”Alright, see ya.”

”WHOOSH!”

He Xiaotian once again shot through the air and vanished from the quiet chamber’s courtyard.

The Blade-seller: ”...”

”Hahahaha, go on, get out of here! Weren’t you going to transform your golden blade?” Feng Yu roared with laughter, mercilessly mocking his fellow sufferer.

”PTHOOEY!” The Blade-seller took aim, and a glob of saliva traced an arc through the air, landing right in Feng Yu’s open mouth.

”GULP!”

”GACK...”

The Blade-seller watched the gagging Feng Yu with a smug expression. ”Trying to fight me? You’re still too green!”

’We’re all in the same boat. Why must men make things so hard for other men?’

Meanwhile, Shouyangzi stared with fury at the sunflower, which was bent over, looming above Daoxuan.

’A moment ago, I saw you back down and thought you weren’t a threat, so I let you off the hook.’

’And now you’re messing with this old Daoist’s only precious disciple? If I don’t destroy you today, I’ll have failed my ancestors and won’t be able to show my face in Shanghai again!’

”Prepare to die!”

The old Daoist roared, throwing open his robes to reveal they were lined with countless yellow paper talismans.

He Xiaotian, standing to the side: ”...”

’Are you really that scared of dying?!’

’No wonder that massive roar from the Deceitful People earlier didn’t do a damn thing to you.’

’Covered head to toe in talismans, who could possibly break through your defenses?’

”Wait!”

Shouyangzi looked at He Xiaotian, who had held out a hand, his face a mask of confusion. ”???”

’This old Daoist is trying to save his disciple, why are you stopping me?!’

’Can’t you see that sunflower is about to chew on Daoxuan?’

”You’re letting your worry cloud your judgment. Did you forget your disciple is wearing more than a dozen Vajra Talismans? If the sunflower had made an aggressive move, the defense mechanism would have activated long ago. At the very least, Daoxuan should be flashing with golden light right now.”

Shouyangzi took a closer look and saw that the Vajra Talismans on his disciple had indeed not been triggered.

Furthermore, the sunflower’s posture didn’t seem aggressive at all. In fact, it looked more like it was carefully observing Daoxuan’s face.

’So what on earth is going on?!’

”Daoxuan, what’s the situation?” the old Daoist asked loudly.

”...” Daoxuan was on the verge of tears. ’How the hell am I supposed to know what the situation is?’

’After I woke up, I felt that my arms, legs, and body were uninjured.’

’Just as I was celebrating my good fortune, I opened my eyes and saw a terrifying face.’

’In the middle of the night, how could I not scream?’

’The fact that I didn’t die of fright on the spot just proves how brave I am.’

He Xiaotian walked over. The sunflower seemed to sense something and immediately turned around.

”?!”

Looking at the hulking man who was so huge he seemed to block out the moon and stars, its entire body convulsed.

”THUD!”

The three people present: ”...”

Because the human-faced sunflower had actually fallen flat on the ground, stiff as a board. It seemed to have been scared to death by He Xiaotian.

”Get up. Stop playing dead.”

He Xiaotian extended his foot and nudged the human-faced sunflower.

But it didn’t move an inch.

”If you don’t get up, I’m going to step on you!”

”GIBBERISH!”

The human-faced sunflower immediately leaped up and started spouting words no one could understand.

”Old Daoist, this thing is from your place. You decide what to do with it.”

He Xiaotian said, turning back to Shouyangzi.

He was certain the human-faced sunflower bore no ill will toward Daoxuan.

Otherwise, the Vajra Talismans would have been triggered long ago.

Besides, this thing was just too cowardly.

The old Daoist had a pained expression. The sunflower’s face was indeed unsettlingly creepy.

And it was so cowardly it was ridiculous. It played dead the moment it saw the two of them.

’To call it a monster is an insult to the word.’

”Forget it, Daoxuan. It seems to get along with you pretty well. You decide. Triggering a Vajra Talisman will be more than enough for you to kill this thing.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he left with He Xiaotian.

”Master, no! I’m scared! I’m so scared!” Daoxuan’s heart-wrenching cries rang out, a sound truly pitiful enough to make listeners grieve and onlookers weep.

”Old Daoist, your apprentice is such a coward. He’s on the same level as the sunflower. No wonder this thing likes Daoxuan—they’re kindred spirits!” He Xiaotian said gloatingly, putting heavy emphasis on the words ”kindred spirits.”

Shouyangzi was starting to feel sorry for him and was about to go back.

But He Xiaotian’s words made him change his mind.

’Having succeeded in his spiritual awakening, Daoxuan has officially stepped into the world of cultivation.’

’In the future, he’ll inevitably have to face evil spirits and strange creatures.’

’You’re this scared of a sunflower that has zero attack power and is cowardly beyond the heavens?’

’When you see a truly ferocious and terrifying monster, aren’t you going to piss your pants?’

”What the hell are you afraid of! It’s so cowardly it’s playing dead! What is there to be scared of? If you can’t handle it, don’t even think about coming back to the monastery. Just let it eat you! Better than dying at the hands of some other monster later on.”

Shouyangzi shouted angrily, the force of his voice making the surrounding trees and flowers tremble.

When the two returned to the quiet chamber’s courtyard, they saw the Blade-seller and Feng Yu using ’b-i-o-w-e-a-p-o-n-s’ on each other.

Each was launching mouthfuls of spit at the other, having the time of their lives.

As they got closer, they saw both men’s faces were covered in ’foam’.

A group of Daoists, collapsed on the ground, were even giving them pointers.

”Spit in his mouth! Spit in his mouth!”

”Dodge your head! Dodge your head!”

He Xiaotian and Shouyangzi: ”...”

The two of them turned around, walked out of the courtyard, and decided to just leave them to it. ’Do whatever the hell you want.’

’Having fun, are we?’

’Then you can play all night!’

”Martial Uncle! Martial Uncle! Don’t leave us here, the ground is cold.”

The group of Daoists watched Shouyangzi’s retreating back, their cries ringing loud and clear.

Unfortunately, the old Daoist pretended not to hear and disappeared into the darkness.

’What if another one of those Deceitful People shows up?’

The Daoists worried.

Then, they heard footsteps.

By the light of the moon, they saw a familiar figure—Daoxuan.

”Senior Brother, save us!”

Everyone stared at Daoxuan with helpless expressions. ’Look at us, how are we supposed to save *you*?’

”Daoxuan, cut the crap and help us into the sleeping quarters. The ground is too cold.”

”I...”

When Daoxuan’s gaze swept over the two heads on the ground, and he saw said heads spitting at each other...

His eyes rolled back into his head. He only managed to utter a single word before collapsing to the ground with a THUD.

Everyone: ”...”

’Couldn’t you have at least helped us inside before you fainted, you bastard?!’
