I Can See Experience Points

Chapter 159: Chapter 158: The Bloody Blade

”Ptooey!” He Xiaotian stood up and looked at the Deceitful Person, whose bones he had shattered, and spat contemptuously on its face. Then, he raised his right foot and stomped down hard on the Deceitful Person’s head.

SPLAT!

The skull, the hardest part of the Deceitful Person’s entire body, burst like a watermelon under He Xiaotian’s foot.

The corpse twitched once, its legs kicked out, and then all signs of life vanished completely.

[Ding! You have killed a White Evil Level Deceitful Person. You have gained 5,000 Experience Points.]

He Xiaotian pursed his lips. ’Just as I expected.’

”Fucking awesooooome—”

The Blade Seller, bleeding from all seven of his orifices, wiped the blood from his face and yelled until his voice cracked.

’The hardest bone in the human body, crushed with a single stomp?’

’What else could he do but kneel and worship the guy?’

’Sucking up was the only way to go!’

’He might even need to ask this guy for help with what was coming next.’

Shouyangzi’s body trembled slightly. ’To be honest,’ he thought, ’if I were the one to face this so-called Deceitful Person...’

’I’d probably only have one option: turtle up and defend passively.’

’The Deceitful Person’s speed is just too incredible. What’s the damn point of powerful Daoist talismans if you can’t even hit your target?’

’No wonder Lei Yang and the others didn’t dare to provoke it, and even that crafty old bastard Roger had to spend Spiritual Energy Crystals to settle things.’

’So it turns out, you’re the real deal!’

’Beating an aberration to death with his bare hands... if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, you could kill this old Taoist and I still wouldn’t believe it.’

’The rule of law saved my life!’

At the same time, a wave of relief washed over him, and he thanked He Xiaotian for the mercy he’d shown him earlier.

”Young man, how about you tell me why you wanted to sell me a blade last night? And you’d better tell me the truth, or else...” He Xiaotian reached the Blade Seller in a few strides, holding up a fist bigger than a clay pot. ”See this?”

”Dare to bullshit me, and I’ll smash your head in with one punch!” he threatened with a cheerful smile.

GULP!

The Blade Seller swallowed hard. Even though a foot had finished off the Deceitful Person, this fist was not to be underestimated.

After all, it was an iron fist capable of shattering the Deceitful Person’s eye sockets and bursting its eyeballs.

”Sir, Boss, Big Bro, you have to believe me! I have absolutely no ill intentions toward you. I just wanted you to nurture a blade for me, that’s it. I swear I had no other ulterior motives,” the Blade Seller said with a pained smile, facing the iron fist.

”Nurture a blade? Aren’t you guys supposed to intercept fate? Trying to fool me? Young man, it looks like you want a taste of justice’s iron fist.” This was not what Shouyangzi had said yesterday.

”No, Boss, let me explain.” As soon as the words left his mouth, the Blade Seller began to explain everything in a torrent of words.

It turned out that the Blade Sellers were internally split into two factions.

One focused on nurturing blades, while the other, as the old Taoist had said, focused on intercepting fate.

No, that wasn’t quite right. They didn’t intercept fate.

They were actually nurturing a life!

The Blade Nurturing faction of Blade Sellers had a miserable lot. Their successors always had it rough.

First, they had to possess a special talent. Second, they had to travel all over the country to collect blades.

If they ran into someone reasonable, things were fine. The person would honor the promise made years ago and return the blade to the Blade Seller.

Most of the time, however, they encountered unreasonable and brutish people.

Want the blade back? Fine!

Defeat me, and I’ll hand it over with both hands.

Can’t beat me? Then get lost!

Their purpose in nurturing blades was to forge a divine blade capable of severing the threads of fate.

After hearing all this, He Xiaotian felt his head spin.

’Sever fate?’

’Even with all these monsters and demons popping up now, can fate really be severed?’

The Life Nurturing faction, on the other hand, moved among the rich and powerful.

They would emerge in every era of chaos, serving as advisors and military strategists.

According to rumors within the Blade Sellers, the brilliant strategists relied upon by the kingdoms of Wei, Shu, and Wu during the Three Kingdoms Period all had members of the Life Nurturing faction among them.

It was true that they intercepted the fates of the rich and powerful.

But this was not their true goal.

These people were actually using the powerful to nurture a life.

As for whose life they were nurturing, and what purpose this life served, no one knew.

The Blade Sellers themselves only knew one thing: their mission was to forge the divine blade.

Then, one day in the future, they would use that divine blade to destroy the Life Nurturing faction.

He Xiaotian felt a massive headache coming on. ’So you Blade Sellers are having a civil war?’

’You ancients and your drama...’

”So? You still haven’t explained why you tried to sell me a blade.”

”Don’t rush, Boss. I observed that your eyes contain a baleful aura, and dark clouds gather in the sky wherever you go. This shows you are a peerless, ruthless individual. By using your baleful aura to nurture a blade, we can forge a world-conquering, malevolent weapon,” the Blade Seller revealed his purpose. Before He Xiaotian could ask any more questions, he quickly added.

”Don’t worry, Boss. Our Blade Nurturing faction would never bring any harm to anyone. Although I’m not sure if our founder was truly the Ghost Valley Master, I have never heard of anyone suffering harm from nurturing a blade. I can swear on my life.”

Alright, the Blade Seller was sincere. Visibly sincere.

Too bad He Xiaotian wasn’t going to touch it with a ten-foot pole. ’You people dare to play games with fate itself. I can’t afford to nurture your blade.’

’What if one day, I get myself ”severed” without even realizing it?’

”Don’t even mention nurturing blades again. Now, tell me your purpose for coming to Snake Mountain.” As He Xiaotian’s voice fell, the courtyard wall exploded with a RUMBLE, and a figure flew through the air toward them.

THUD!

The figure landed on the ground, rolled for more than ten meters, and finally came to a stop after crashing into the wall on the other side of the yard.

In the moonlight, they could see clearly that this man was not from Hua Country, but was of the ethnicity from the Southeast Cliff region.

He had short hair and was wearing a yellow monk’s robe.

*”Mercy, mercy!!”*

The short-haired man in the monk’s robe was muttering incomprehensible words.

”...”

A bizarre silence fell over the quiet courtyard.

”Yang, can you understand him?”

At He Xiaotian’s question, Shouyangzi rolled his eyes.

’If you asked me for a bit of English, I could probably muddle through it.’

’Or classical Chinese, I’m quite proficient in that too.’

’But this? I don’t even know what language it is. How do you expect me to translate it for you?’

Frustrated, He Xiaotian turned to the Blade Seller.

The Blade Seller: ”...”

’What?!’

’Why are you looking at me?’

’We can only glimpse a corner of fate sometimes, we’re not a walking encyclopedia!’

”And you!” He Xiaotian turned back to the monk. ”Speak Chinese, not that bird-talk! Don’t you have a clue whose land you’re standing on?”

However, the only reply He Xiaotian received was the same familiar phrase.

*”Mercy, mercy!!”*

”You’re out here making a living and you don’t even know the local language? Have you no shame?”

Every single person present felt their mouths twitch.

’You’re one to talk.’

*”Help! He wants to kill me! He’s coming! The knife is coming!!”*

After shouting, the man in the monk’s robe actually started kowtowing to He Xiaotian and the others.

Though they didn’t understand the words, it seemed the man was begging for help?

Before anyone could react, a blood-red blade extended out from beyond the shattered courtyard wall.
