Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 187 Since you’re already here, why don’t you help me wash the floor?”That... Boss.”

In the communication channel, the projection of the Legion Commander of the 33rd Legion flagship, the Dauntless, flickered twice. His voice sounded a bit cautious, even carrying a hint of ingratiation, ”How should we ’clean’ this floor, sir?”

Lin Yuan toyed with the still-pulsing crimson crystal in his hand and carelessly scanned his surroundings.

Although that ”Old Bone” had exploded, the mess it left behind remained. Everywhere, mechanical xenomorphs were bumping into things like headless flies after losing their command, along with those dark red rust stains attached to the wreckage, which were nauseating to look at.

”Does this need to be taught?”

Lin Yuan tucked the crystal into his pocket and pointed at a few stragglers still trying to gnaw on the Earth’s shield, ”I think these things are quite dirty. Since you are idle anyway, let’s have a full-scale cleanup.”

He paused, his tone carrying a bit of self-evident, bandit-like arrogance: ”Remember, I want it clean to the level of ’polished and waxed’. Understand?”

On the bridge of the Dauntless, the holographic projection of the veteran’s body jolted violently.

Although they crossed races and civilizations, as a seasoned soldier, he instantly understood the subtext of this new ”Commander.”

What is a cleanup? That is fire coverage. What is polished and waxed? That is leaving no chicken or dog alive—even the dust must be swept away.

”33rd Legion, all units, listen up!”

The Legion Commander turned abruptly. His projection, which had only been half a body, now erupted with a chilling, murderous aura.

”Disable fire control restrictions! Target: All non-friendly units!”

”Execution code: Purge!”

Boom—!

If the previous round of concentrated fire was just to break the Rust Lord’s arm, then now, this undead fleet that had slept for ten thousand years truly bared its fangs.

There was no probing, not even a single ranging shot.

Tens of thousands of ghost warships adjusted their posture simultaneously. The armor plates on their broadsides opened like fish gills, revealing dense, trypophobia-inducing launch silos.

The next second, the starry sky was lit up. It was not light; it was a curtain of death.

Countless ghost-blue plasma beams wove into an airtight net. Within this net, whether it was the hundreds-of-meters-long mutant destroyers or the fist-sized nanite swarms, everything was vaporized in an instant.

Nothing could stop this heavy-duty legion that had once dominated the galaxy.

They were like a group of neat-freak cleaners using flamethrowers to clear out a cockroach nest.

Inside the Earth Command Center, the enamel mug in Chen Weiguo’s hand hit the floor with a ”clatter,” chipping a piece of paint.

”Good heavens...”

The old general watched the one-sided massacre on the screen—no, this couldn’t even be called a massacre; it was a unilateral formatting.

Those monsters that had previously left Earth in a desperate situation, forcing them to use their lives to fill the gaps, were as brittle as potato chips in front of this undead fleet.

A mechanical giant python that was crazily ramming the Zhurong engine just opened its big mouth to take a bite when it was hit by a dozen crossfire beams simultaneously.

Before the explosion’s fire could even dissipate, it was compressed into a solid iron ball by the subsequent gravity waves.

Less than three minutes.

The starry graveyard, which had been a chaotic mess, went quiet. Except for the metal dust floating in the vacuum, no other moving hostile targets could be found.

”It... it’s over?”

A young chief of staff next to him opened his mouth wide, feeling his worldview hit by dimensional reduction, ”We fought tooth and nail for half a day, and it turns out it was just to warm up for them?”

”Otherwise?” Chen Weiguo gave a bitter smile, pointing at Lin Yuan, who was floating in the center of the fleet with his hands behind his back like a wealthy landlord, ”Don’t look at who brought those troops back.”

Just then, Lin Yuan’s voice cut into the public channel loudly.

”Old Chen, don’t just stand there in a daze. I see a few of our engines seem to be leaking air? It just so happens these brothers have good skills, let them help patch it up.”

Chen Weiguo was stunned: ”Patch? How to patch? These are planetary engines, the parts all have to be from...”

Before he finished speaking, he shut his mouth. Because he saw the belly of the 100-kilometer-long Dauntless flagship suddenly open—not to fire cannons, but to spew out hundreds of millions of pale golden light spots.

That was the supreme masterpiece of the Titan Civilization—autonomous nanite repair swarms.

These light spots were like a golden sandstorm, gently covering the scarred areas of Earth.

The base of Engine 404, which had been snapped by a mechanical giant hand, began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye under the devouring and reorganization of these nanites. The twisted titanium alloy frame was straightened, broken pipes were reconnected, and even the paint on the outer shell was patched up along the way.

”This isn’t car repair...”

Academician Wang held his glasses with trembling hands, tears almost falling, ”This is giving the engines a medical beauty treatment! Even the nano-scale cracks are filled!”

An even more outrageous scene happened. A light frigate on the outskirts of Earth, because the pilot was too mesmerized, made an operational error and rammed into a ghost battleship responsible for escorting them.

”It’s over, it’s over! I hit a luxury car!” The pilot’s face turned white with fear.

If this were in the past, an impact of this magnitude would have caused the frigate to disintegrate on the spot. But the expected explosion did not happen.

The ghost battleship only swayed slightly, and then voluntarily extended a gentle gravitational tentacle, softly supporting the near-out-of-control Earth spaceship to help it regain its posture.

Immediately after, a line of titan text popped up on the frigate’s communication screen, which, after being translated, was an extremely polite greeting:

【 Drive carefully, little friend. The road is slippery. 】

The pilot stared at the screen, completely stunned.

This is an undead fleet? Their manners are better than those drivers on Earth who keep their high beams on!

”miracle... This is a miracle...”

On the hangar deck of the great xia dragon sparrow, Alita was kneeling on the ground.

As a scavenger struggling to survive in this graveyard, she knew better than anyone how terrifying these ”things” were. They were the curse of this star sector, the nightmare of every passing spaceship.

But now, these nightmares were docilely surrounding that human, like the most loyal hounds.

Lin Yuan piloted his mecha to land slowly on the deck. As soon as he stepped out of the cabin, he saw Alita frantically kowtowing to him, her forehead bruised on the floor.

”Alright, alright, stop with the feudal superstition.”

Lin Yuan walked over and casually lifted her up, ”I’m just a scrap collector. These guys happen to be specialized in this field, so I just recruited them. We call this labor dispatch, understand?”

Alita widened her eyes, looking at Lin Yuan’s punchable face. Her lips trembled for a long time, but she couldn’t squeeze out a single word.

Recruited?

Using an entire main titan Legion as labor dispatch?

If other civilizations in the galaxy knew about this, it would probably scare the false teeth out of those high officials in the Order Bureau.

【 Ding! 】 The system’s prompt sounded at the right time, interrupting Lin Yuan’s moment of showing off.

【 Battlefield cleanup complete. 】

【 Settling... 】

【 Congratulations to the host, you have obtained temporary command of the ”33rd Heavy Mechanized Legion” (Favorability: Worship). 】

【 Obtained titan-class battleship wreckage (repairable) x8600. 】

【 Obtained rare resources: Active titanium alloy x50 million tons. 】

【 Obtained blueprints: Gravity Wave Generator (Incomplete), Psionic Engine (Complete Version), Nanite Swarm Control Hub (Legendary Grade). 】

Looking at the list glowing with gold, Lin Yuan felt his drool almost coming out.

Rich.

This time, I’m truly rich.

Just the blueprint for the ”Psionic Engine” could be sold on the black market to trade for half a galaxy. Not to mention those tens of millions of tons of active titanium alloy; that was a strategic resource you couldn’t buy even with money.

”With this batch of goods...”

Lin Yuan narrowed his eyes, his gaze passing through the porthole toward the depths of the distant starry sky, ”Let’s see if those bastards from the Order Bureau still dare to shout at me about ’civilization levels’.”

Just then, the holographic Legion Commander appeared before Lin Yuan again. Compared to just now, his figure was more solid, clearly the result of the nanite repairs.

”Commander.”

The veteran knelt on one knee. This time, it was complete submission, ”33rd Legion, all units are ready. Although our hulls are decayed and our cores are aged, as long as you give the order, even if it is hell, we are willing to clear the way for you.”

”Until... the last screw burns out.”

His voice was not loud, but it carried a determination that disregarded life and death. They were abandoned ghosts who had accumulated too much anger and unwillingness over endless years. Now, someone had given them a chance to burn again, and even if it was only once, they would unhesitatingly vent all this ten-thousand-year equivalent of energy.

Lin Yuan looked at him and put away the playful smile on his face. He reached out and patted the phantom shoulder.

”Rest assured, since you’ve followed me, I won’t let you be cannon fodder.”

Lin Yuan grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth, his eyes flashing with undisguised ambition, ”What is hell? Our next goal is to go and dismantle those high-and-mighty ’Heavens’.”

”Doesn’t the Order Bureau like to talk about rules?”

”Then let’s take these tens of thousands of cannons and go have a good talk with them about what the hell a ’new rule’ is!”

The Legion Commander looked up abruptly. In his pupilless eyes, two ghost-blue flames danced wildly.

【 As you wish! 】

In the communication channel, tens of thousands of warships roared deafeningly at the same time. That was them responding to this new king’s declaration with their engine sounds.

People on Earth listened to this roar that pierced through the clouds, and many were moved to tears.

They were no longer fugitives. They had fangs.

Just as Lin Yuan was immersed in this kingly aura, preparing to say a few more heroic words.

Snap.

A very faint, crisp sound came abruptly from his pocket.

Lin Yuan was stunned and subconsciously took out the crimson crystal he had snatched from the Lord’s self-detonation just now.

He saw that the surface of the crystal, which had been extremely hard and couldn’t even be crushed by gravity waves, now had a hairline crack.

Immediately after, a drop of golden liquid slowly seeped out through the crack.

This liquid was strange. It did not drip to the ground but defied the rules of gravity, floating in mid-air, exuding a kind of... sacred aura that made one want to worship at a single glance.

【 Warning! Unknown high-dimensional biological sample detected! 】

【 Warning! This sample does not belong to this universe’s dimension! 】

The system’s alarm suddenly became sharp and piercing, and red pop-up windows plastered Lin Yuan’s face.

【 Parsing... Parsing failed! 】

【 This thing... seems to be alive? 】

Lin Yuan’s heart skipped a beat.

He looked at the golden liquid slowly squirming in the air, as if observing him, and a chill ran down his spine straight to his crown.

That blood-colored giant eye that flashed at the end of the fog just now... That true mastermind behind the scenes. Could this thing be a ”welcome gift” left by that big shot?

”A bit interesting.”

Lin Yuan was not afraid; instead, he reached out his finger and gently poked the drop of golden liquid.

”It seems the water in this Land Abandoned by Gods is even deeper than I imagined...”

The drop of golden liquid trembled slightly on his fingertip, and then, as if it had found a host, it zoomed into his skin.

At the same time, a line of blood-red small text quietly emerged at the bottom of his retina:

【 Welcome to the game, Player No. 109. 】
