Supreme Lord of Towers

Not long after, the results of the competition were announced.

Just as Ye Chen had predicted, he smoothly advanced to the elimination round with an excellent score of twelve points.

Apart from him, three others from his team also achieved six consecutive wins.

These three individuals had all placed first in the admissions assessments of their respective prefecture cities, so their abilities were naturally extraordinary.

”Hmph! That waste Ye Chen is quite lucky not to have faced a genius with an awakened Yellow Level First Grade bloodline, or else there’s no way he would have achieved six consecutive wins,” Ye Teng sneered.

They had both come to participate in the Freshman Tournament, yet Ye Teng’s results were extremely dismal, having only won two matches and drawing in one.

As for the remaining three matches, he lost them all to his opponents.

Thus, he no longer had a chance to participate in the upcoming elimination round.

The more it was like this, the deeper his jealousy towards Ye Chen became.

”Brother Duanmu, that waste Ye Chen has indeed advanced to the elimination round,” Ye Lin’Er, on the observation platform to the west of the Zodiac Battle Platform, stared indifferently at Ye Chen, a cold smile playing at the corners of her lips, as if everything was under her control.

”Ha! After all, he placed first in the Kunzhou Prefecture admissions assessment, so advancing to the elimination round is quite normal! If he were eliminated just like that, the ones I sent wouldn’t even have a chance to kill him,” Duanmu Jie sneered, his eyes full of mocking, looking at Ye Chen as if he were a lamb to the slaughter.

He had long anticipated that Ye Chen would successfully advance to the elimination round.

After all, Ye Chen’s abilities were even stronger than Xiao Lan, a genius with an awakened Yellow Level Second Grade bloodline, so unless he was extraordinarily unlucky, he would surely advance.

So for Duanmu Jie, not only was he not surprised by this result, but he was also extremely satisfied.

Because only this way could the freshmen he sent have a chance to end Ye Chen in the second stage of the elimination round.

”I hope this time we can completely solve this waste, to save me the trouble,” Ye Lin’Er said coldly, her eyes flashing with a terrifying murderous intent, making others shiver with fear.

”Don’t worry, Lin’er Junior Sister, the ones I’ve sent can crush this waste easily. This time, nothing unexpected will happen,” Duanmu Jie had a sinister smile, full of confidence.

For this Freshman Tournament, he had sent four or five extremely powerful geniuses to kill Ye Chen.

And Cheng Long was just one of them.

Additionally, he had secretly bribed an Elder who was overseeing the competition.

This Elder was from their Duanmu Family and could manipulate the matches to pit Ye Chen against those geniuses.

Only then could everything proceed without a hitch.

”Alright, now the top ten ranked freshmen from each team have been selected. Congratulations on advancing to the elimination round! Besides these, there are eight more who can also participate in the elimination round,” the loud voice of the gray-robed elder suddenly rang out around everyone.

Then, he read out the names of the eight freshmen.

These eight freshmen, although not ranked in the top ten in their teams, had extremely special statuses, mostly from the six great families of the Royal Capital.

Celestial Flame Academy chose to include these eight to make a total of one hundred and twenty-eight freshmen for the elimination round.

Only this way, the elimination round could be held more easily.

If there were only one hundred and twenty, it would cause a few problems.

”Sigh! Having a background is indeed good, those guys’ abilities are not better than many of us, yet they still manage to advance, it’s really unfair,” a freshman sighed, eyes full of strong reluctance.

”Hmph! When has there ever been fairness in this world? We were just born in the wrong place, and even if those eight can advance, so what? With their abilities, they will surely be instantly eliminated,” someone else coldly laughed, their tone filled with mockery.

Yes!

The eight freshmen advanced because they had powerful backing.

But if they lacked power themselves, it would ultimately be useless.

In the end, they would still be eliminated.

And if you have absolute power, you will surely gain Celestial Flame Academy’s attention, regardless of your background.

Complaining won’t solve anything.

Blame yourself for being too weak.

”Hehe! The upcoming elimination round will be the most brutal, among the one hundred and twenty-eight freshmen who advanced, over half are the top talents from various prefecture city assessments, and many are young prodigies from the Royal Capital, none of them to be trifled with.”

”Indeed! The competitions between them will be extremely exciting, truly something to look forward to!”

”Who will end up as the champion of this tournament? Duanmu Xiong, Liu Feng, or the Fifth Princess of our Celestial Flame Dynasty?” The freshmen began whispering among themselves, all looking very excited.

Although they were unable to advance to the elimination round.

However, watching those talents compete is undoubtedly a pleasure for them.

”As the day draws late, the elimination match in the second segment will be held tomorrow. Everyone should go and rest well, restoring yourselves to peak condition,” said the Celestial Flame Peak Master with a slight smile, standing up from the purple sandalwood chair in the grand hall.

”Yes, Palace Master,” everyone respectfully replied.

Soon after, the previously bustling New Talent Peak returned to its usual quietness.

All new students participating in the tournament were arranged by the academy’s teachers into a palace not far from New Talent Peak.

This palace contains many rooms, definitely sufficient for over a thousand new students to reside.

The one hundred and twenty-eight students who successfully advanced were given incredibly luxurious accommodations, each with a separate courtyard, surrounded by tranquility.

The reason Celestial Flame Academy did this is naturally to ensure this group of students can get enough rest, enabling them to adjust themselves to their peak state to participate in tomorrow’s elimination matches.

”In tomorrow’s elimination match, I must take first place. Foster father, foster mother, you’ve suffered. I will soon rescue you from the Duanmu Family,” Ye Chen couldn’t help but clench his fist in a tranquil room, his eyes shooting out piercing gleams, silently swearing in his heart.

Immediately, he sat cross-legged on the soft bed, starting to recover his depleted True Qi using spirit stones.

To his knowledge, tomorrow’s elimination match is divided into seven rounds in total.

In each round of the match, half of the new students will be eliminated, there is no such thing as a draw.

Hence, if Ye Chen wants to win first place in the tournament, he must defeat seven strong opponents.

Among those who could advance to the elimination match, few are weaklings; even Ye Chen dare not take it lightly.

Especially Duanmu Xiong and Liu Feng, the talents who awakened Profound Bloodlines have immeasurable combat power.

If Ye Chen wants to defeat them, it will likely require quite an effort.

Of course, unless absolutely necessary, Ye Chen would not reveal his true strength, otherwise he could be targeted by those powerful figures at any time.

If they discover he possesses the Human Emperor Inheritance, the consequences will be unimaginable.

The matter of possessing the Human Emperor Inheritance, Ye Chen didn’t even dare tell his foster father and foster mother, or else it could instead invite disaster upon them.

As for others, he surely wouldn’t say anything.

”I must quickly elevate my Divine Soul to the Second Layer Exorcism Realm, only then can I cultivate the Human Emperor Body to the Dragon Elephant Realm, greatly enhancing my survival ability, otherwise a casual Half-Step Celestial Spirit Realm expert could put me to death.” After regaining his True Qi, Ye Chen began cultivating the ”Soul Emperor Visualization Map,” not daring to relax for even a moment.

No matter how heaven-defying the creation he received, effort is necessary.

For, becoming a true expert is not easy.

To Ye Chen, on the path to becoming an expert, talent is indeed significant, but diligence is indispensable.

If you’re too lazy, no matter how high your talent is, you will gradually be buried.

Time flies, and soon the night passed.

A strand of golden morning sunlight shone through the window, casting into Ye Chen’s room, presenting a warm and beautiful scene.

At this moment, however, Ye Chen had no mood to savor these.

His foster father and foster mother are being held by the Duanmu Family. If within three days he can’t gather two pieces of Middle Grade Spiritual Artifacts, he may never see them again.

Therefore, Ye Chen’s heart constantly feels anxious and worried.

”Ye Chen, I am Teacher Ouyang.” At this moment, a woman’s voice suddenly came from outside Ye Chen’s residence, sounding as ethereal as heavenly music.

This voice unmistakably belonged to Ouyang Xue.

”Teacher Ouyang, please come in.” Ye Chen quickly leaped up from the bed, opened the door, and welcomed Ouyang Xue inside.

”Ye Chen, your performance yesterday was quite remarkable. I have already asked my father to bring out two pieces of Middle Grade Spiritual Artifacts to redeem your foster father and foster mother, but...” Ouyang Xue furrowed her brows, showing a hesitant expression, as if she had something unspeakable.

”Teacher Ouyang, thank you for everything you’ve done for me. If you have any requests, feel free to tell me. As long as I can do it, I will surely agree,” Ye Chen hurriedly said.

”My father is still not entirely satisfied with your performance, he doesn’t want to offend Ye Lin’Er and Duanmu Jie, the two seed students, because of you, so you must show even greater potential, otherwise even I may struggle to help you,” Ouyang Xue sighed, with a hint of guilt in her tone.

She already went to see her father Ouyang Zhong again last night.

These words were all directly spoken to her by Ouyang Zhong.
