Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 113: Chapter 113: The First Alchemy

Although Ye Qingchen was seriously injured, it didn’t affect his ability to use his Double Pupils to scout the path ahead, so he returned to his courtyard without any real danger.

When Xiao Xiao saw Ye Qingchen covered in blood, she was so frightened she burst into tears. Ye Qingchen wanted to affectionately pat her head, but fainted from excessive blood loss.

After carrying Ye Qingchen to bed, Xiao Xiao hurriedly contacted Yao Yue to ask for a Spirit Pill that could heal his injuries.

Although Yao Yue had no desire to get involved in Ye Qingchen’s affairs, she couldn’t refuse Xiao Xiao’s desperate pleas and ultimately gave her a Spirit Pill.

Xiao Xiao didn’t ask about the Spirit Pill’s name or its effects. She simply placed it in Ye Qingchen’s mouth.

In Xiao Xiao’s eyes, Yao Yue represented the Wuji Immortal Palace, a nine-star Sect. How could a Spirit Pill from her be anything less than extraordinary?

After Ye Qingchen swallowed the Spirit Pill, color gradually returned to his face.

After all, during his battle with the Redrock Beast, Ye Qingchen had used his Double Pupils to evade any fatal blows. Though his body was covered in wounds, his meridians were unharmed.

With the aid of the Spirit Pill, Ye Qingchen only lay in bed for a day and a night before he was full of life and vigor again.

What Ye Qingchen didn’t know was that the Spirit Pill Yao Yue had given Xiao Xiao was an invaluable fourth-grade Spirit Pill. Otherwise, with his injuries, it would have taken him at least ten days to half a month to even get out of bed!

Seeing Ye Qingchen fully recovered, Xiao Xiao finally broke into a smile and excitedly announced she would make him a delicious meal.

Ye Qingchen smiled. He had indeed been too careless this time. Elder Fen Tian had left behind a method for harvesting the Sky Burning Earth Fire, but he had foolishly rushed off without examining it carefully.

However, the trip wasn’t a complete waste. Setting aside the herbs he collected along the way, simply confirming the location of the Sky Burning Earth Fire made the journey worthwhile for Ye Qingchen.

Ye Qingchen began to review Elder Fen Tian’s memories regarding the Sky Burning Earth Fire and couldn’t help but purse his lips.

To acquire the Sky Burning Earth Fire, Elder Fen Tian had laid out two prerequisites.

The first was that the Sky Burning Earth Fire was intensely hot. Ordinary people could not approach it, a fact Ye Qingchen had already experienced firsthand.

When he had first neared the Heavenly Pond Sea of Fire, he had felt an unbearable heat that left him drenched in sweat. The Sky Burning Earth Fire was located at the very bottom of the Heavenly Pond Sea of Fire. Ye Qingchen dared not imagine just how high the temperature there must be.

Therefore, Elder Fen Tian specifically instructed that to obtain the Sky Burning Earth Fire, one must possess a suit of treasure armor imbued with a cold ice aura. Furthermore, the armor’s grade could be no lower than a mid-grade Spiritual Artifact!

Ye Qingchen was left speechless. Spiritual Artifacts were incredibly precious. Even a low-grade Spiritual Artifact was beyond his current reach, let alone a mid-grade one. Moreover, the requirement specifically demanded a mid-grade Spiritual Artifact with a cold ice aura.

Ye Qingchen shook his head. He would have to figure this out on his own. He then turned his attention to the second requirement.

The second requirement was also due to the unimaginable temperature of the Sky Burning Earth Fire. Even if Ye Qingchen acquired treasure armor with a cold ice aura and successfully retrieved it, he would still need to absorb it into his body for Refinement. At that point, the mid-grade Spiritual Artifact’s protection would be useless. The scorching temperature of the Sky Burning Earth Fire would undoubtedly burn his meridians and internal organs to ash.

Therefore, Elder Fen Tian’s memories specified that it was imperative to concoct the vein-protecting pill and the Heart-Protecting Pill. As their names suggested, these two Elixirs protected one’s internal organs and meridians.

Both were classified as second-grade Elixirs, but the required herbs were exceptionally rare and the refinement process was complex. The difficulty of concocting them was no less than that of a third-grade Elixir.

Ye Qingchen sighed. Although Elder Fen Tian had only mentioned these two conditions, Ye Qingchen now faced a third problem.

That was the Redrock Beasts of the Heavenly Pond Sea of Fire. These creatures were comparable to a fourth-level human martial master and always appeared in groups. With his current strength, simply escaping with his life had been a stroke of great fortune.

A mid-grade Spiritual Artifact, second-grade Elixirs, and a power advancement!

Ye Qingchen shook his head. A mid-grade Spiritual Artifact was something one could only hope to stumble upon, not actively seek out, and advancing one’s strength wasn’t something that happened overnight. For now, the only thing he could do was to concoct the Heart-Protecting Pill and the vein-protecting pill.

Though he had never personally attempted Alchemy, with the Pill Emperor’s Heart Sutra and Elder Fen Tian’s inheritance, Ye Qingchen was confident he could master the skills of an Alchemist in a short time.

Furthermore, once he became a successful Alchemist, not only would his status in the Sect rise dramatically, but he would also be able to save a fortune by concocting his own Spirit Pills whenever he explored a Secret Realm in the future.

He could even concoct and sell Spirit Pills to trade for the various heavenly materials and earthly treasures he needed.

At this thought, Ye Qingchen was eager to get started.

Just then, Xiao Xiao finished preparing the meal. After taking a few hasty bites, Ye Qingchen told Xiao Xiao he was entering closed-door cultivation and walked directly toward the secret chamber.

The Qingyun Sect was quite considerate. To facilitate its disciples’ training, every Inner Sect Disciple’s courtyard was equipped with a secret chamber. The Spiritual Energy within these chambers was not only denser, but they also completely blocked all external interference, allowing disciples to cultivate in peace.

For his first attempt at Alchemy, Ye Qingchen naturally could not afford to be disturbed. The secret chamber was the best possible place for him.

Xiao Xiao watched Ye Qingchen’s hurried retreat, a tender look of heartache appearing on her innocent face.

The Young Master is working so hard. He will definitely soar to great heights one day!

With this thought in mind, Xiao Xiao also returned to her room to cultivate. The Young Master is working so hard. I can’t fall behind either.

After entering the secret chamber, Ye Qingchen took out the Alchemy Furnace and placed it in the middle of the room. He then began searching through his storage ring for herbs.

For his first Spirit Pill, Ye Qingchen naturally chose to attempt the simplest one: the Crimson Heart Pill. He was brimming with confidence. With my comprehension, creating a Crimson Heart Pill will be a breeze.

The Crimson Heart Pill was widely recognized in the world of alchemists as the simplest Spirit Pill. It was classified as a first-grade Spirit Pill, required only five herbs, and had an uncomplicated refinement method.

Ye Qingchen carefully reviewed the Crimson Heart Pill’s recipe one more time, then began his preparations.

In essence, Alchemy could be broken down into three steps: the first was Quenching Flame, the second was purification, and the third was Solidifying Pill.

Although there might be more than a dozen smaller sub-steps, they all ultimately fell under these three crucial stages.

Filled with confidence, Ye Qingchen placed the various herbs into the Alchemy Furnace in the correct order and began his very first attempt at Alchemy
