Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 92: Chapter 92 Ye Ying in Trouble

The Qingyun Sect Mission Hall.

The trio returned and handed in their mission, each earning five hundred Sect Contribution Points. The point balance on Ye Qingchen’s Identity Token increased from three hundred twenty-six to eight hundred twenty-six.

Ye Qingchen, Hong Yan, and Wang Qiang stood at the entrance of the Mission Hall, their faces brimming with excitement as they bid each other farewell.

”This journey was quite rewarding. I plan to enter closed-door cultivation! What are your plans, Junior Brother Qingchen and Junior Sister Hong Yan?” Wang Qiang asked, his gaze gleaming.

”This trip was truly worthwhile! I plan to use the resources we gathered to break through to the Martial Master Realm!” Hong Yan declared confidently. She then turned and softly inquired, ”And you, little brother Qingchen?”

”I want to become an Inner Sect Disciple. How do I do that?” Ye Qingchen asked. Since only Inner Sect Disciples were qualified to enter Redflame Mountain, he had to find a way to become one to seek the Fen Tian Earth Fire.

”Become an Inner Sect Disciple? Junior Brother Ye Qingchen, your cultivation is certainly no issue, but... I’m afraid there’s no hope for this year,” Wang Qiang said with a hint of regret.

Ye Qingchen, puzzled and confused, furrowed his brows. ”Why is that?”

”The selection assessment for Inner Sect Disciples ended two months ago. To participate, you’ll have to wait until next year,” Wang Qiang answered patiently, letting out a long sigh.

”I missed it...” Ye Qingchen was stunned. Didn’t that mean he would have to wait a whole year to go to Redflame Mountain? A year was too long...

Seeing Ye Qingchen’s disappointed expression, Hong Yan was moved. Suddenly, her eyes sparkled as if she had remembered something. ”Little brother Qingchen, I remember now! Besides the selection assessment, there are two other ways to become an Inner Sect Disciple in a short amount of time!” she said happily.

”You can challenge an Inner Sect Disciple and defeat them to take their title! Or, you can sign up for the Qingyun Sect’s Provisional Alchemist Competition in a month. Securing any of the top three positions is all it takes!”

Ye Qingchen’s eyes lit up. ”Great! Thank you for telling me, Sister Hong Yan!”

Thinking this over, it seemed he had a perfect chance to become an Inner Sect Disciple at top speed. Then he could go to Redflame Mountain, find the Fen Tian Earth Fire, and cultivate the Pill Emperor’s Heart Sutra. His progress would be twice as effective with half the effort!

Ye Qingchen clenched his fists, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Hm? Did he just call me Sister Hong Yan? He’s not calling me ’Senior Sister’ anymore! It seems our relationship is getting closer. Tee hee, I have a chance!

At this thought, Hong Yan lowered her head and nervously fidgeted with her fingers, her cheeks flushing in a rare display of shyness.

Ye Qingchen realized he might have said something wrong. He looked down at Hong Yan, saw the happiness and anticipation on her face, and couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh inwardly. Without realizing it, I’ve probably incurred another romantic debt.

Wang Qiang cupped his fist in a salute. ”Well then, Junior Brother Qingchen, we’ll part ways here. Let’s meet again when we have the chance!”

”Alright!” Ye Qingchen responded with a salute of his own.

”Hong Yan, let’s go...”

Seeing that Wang Qiang and Hong Yan had already walked some distance away, Ye Qingchen smiled and entered his own courtyard.

As soon as he stepped inside, he heard Xiao Xiao shouting, ”Hei Ze! How can you be so clumsy! You added too much salt!”

”Then I’ll add some sugar...”

”Too slow! The chicken is burnt! Remake it, quickly!”

”Yes, yes...”

Before his eyes, Xiao Xiao stood with her hands on her hips, ordering a venerable Elder to cook chicken. A dignified Elder of the Qingyun Sect, a man on equal footing with the Sect Master, had been reduced to cooking chicken. If word of this got out, it would be an absolute disgrace.

Ye Qingchen chuckled to himself and sat down on a nearby stone bench without a word.

”Hm? Young Master, you’re back!” Seeing Ye Qingchen’s return, Xiao Xiao’s face lit up with a grin. She bounced joyfully and added, ”Hei Ze is almost done! We can eat soon!”

A moment later, a soot-faced Hei Ze clumsily brought out two large bowls of roast chicken, the fragrant aroma filling the air.

”Come on, eat up!” Hei Ze said proudly, wiping the soot from his face. He glanced toward Ye Qingchen, but the sight made him jump in shock.

The Martial Master Realm? It’s only been five days, and this kid is already in the Martial Master Realm? Could he have taken some kind of quick-acting elixir to artificially boost his cultivation? Those things are no good. Although they can rapidly raise one’s Cultivation Realm, they also cause an unstable martial foundation. Long-term use can lead to severe side effects, and in serious cases, can even halt one’s cultivation progress permanently! No, I have to remind him. The most important thing on the martial path is to remain grounded and advance step by step! Consuming too many elixirs is not a good thing! I must find a way to warn him!

As the Elder was lost in thought, Xiao Xiao urged impatiently, ”Hei Ze, what are you standing there for? Go get the bowls and chopsticks!”

”Huh? Oh, right!” Hei Ze snapped out of his daze and headed into the kitchen.

”Young Master, let’s eat first, hehe!” Xiao Xiao said with a mischievous grin. She tore off a chicken leg and began to chew, grease dripping from her mouth.

Ye Qingchen understood and also grabbed a chicken leg.

”My chicken!” Hei Ze yelled, returning with the bowls and chopsticks.

Just then, the courtyard gate was thrown open, and Huang Xiaoshuai staggered in, clutching a bleeding hand.

”This is bad, Ye Qingchen! She’s been abducted!” Huang Xiaoshuai cried out in urgency before collapsing to the ground.

”Huang Xiaoshuai!” Ye Qingchen rushed to help him up, his expression darkening as he asked, ”Who was abducted?”

”Ye Ying!”

Hearing the name, Ye Qingchen erupted in fury, his entire body radiating a burning rage. ”Who abducted her!” he thundered.

”An Inner Sect Disciple, Han Liang,” Huang Xiaoshuai managed to say before fainting from blood loss.

Ye Qingchen hastily fed him a fourth-grade Recovery Pill.

Witnessing this, Hei Ze gasped. Where did this kid get a fourth-grade Spirit Pill!

The Recovery Pill dissolved inside Huang Xiaoshuai’s body, instantly releasing a surge of Spiritual Energy that healed his external wounds.

Huang Xiaoshuai’s face was a mask of shock. What kind of pill is this? It healed my knife wound in an instant!

”Where is Han Liang? Take me to him now!” Ye Qingchen demanded furiously.

Then, led by Huang Xiaoshuai, Ye Qingchen stormed toward the residential area of the Inner Sect Disciples.

”What exactly happened?” Ye Qingchen asked anxiously as they hurried.

”Ye Ying found out you took on a mission in a Secret Realm left behind by a Martial Spirit expert. She was worried about your safety and wanted to gather a group to help you. This Inner Sect Disciple, Han Liang, also planned to take on this mission. He happened to need one more Outer Sect Disciple for his team, so he and Ye Ying quickly came to an agreement.

”Who knew Han Liang was a piece of trash? He actually tried to force Ye Ying to serve him for a day in exchange for going to the Secret Realm. When Ye Ying refused, he knocked her unconscious and abducted her. I happened upon the scene and tried to stop him, but he slashed me with his sword!” A flash of hatred crossed Huang Xiaoshuai’s face as he spoke.

Han Liang, you had better not have done anything yet. Otherwise, even if the Qingyun Sect’s Master himself tried to stop me, I would still kill you, you animal! Ye Qingchen roared inwardly.

In the entire Ye Family, Ye Ying was the only one who had ever genuinely cared for him. It would be no exaggeration to say she was his only true family.

Ye Qingchen quickened his pace, hoping he wasn’t too late...

「Inside Han Liang’s courtyard.」

”Help!” Ye Ying screamed, tied to a large tree. She struggled with all her might, trying to break free from the ropes.

”Heh heh, go ahead and scream. Even if you scream your throat out, no one will come to save you! You might as well just submit to me!” Han Liang jeered, walking toward her with a lecherous smile. Watching her beautiful figure become more enticing as she struggled, he shamelessly leaned in and sniffed at her face. ”Mmm! So fragrant! Truly fragrant!”

”PTUI!” Ye Ying spat directly in his face, her own filled with disgust.

”You bitch! You refused my offer nicely, so you’ll take it the hard way! Humph!”

SMACK!

Han Liang wiped the saliva from his face and slapped Ye Ying hard across hers. Then, he tore at her clothes!

Her fair skin was exposed!

”Such a fiery temper!” he sneered. ”In that case, I’ll just take you by force! This Lord Liang loves to break wild mares!”

”You animal! You’re an animal! I would rather die than submit to you!” Ye Ying cried, her face pale with terror as tears streamed down her cheeks.

”Heh heh, you want to die? You can, but only after I’ve had my fun with you!” Han Liang licked his lips as he ogled Ye Ying’s exposed body. This bitch has a nice body.

Just as Han Liang was about to pounce on her—

BANG! The gate to his courtyard was kicked off its hinges!

An enraged figure stormed in. It was none other than Ye Qingchen.

His eyes fell upon Ye Ying, tied to the tree, her clothes torn and her body exposed.

”You animal! Die!” Ye Qingchen’s eyes flashed with a cold light as he strode forward, striking out with his palm at Han Liang.

”Who dares to spoil my fun?” Han Liang turned and saw it was Ye Qingchen. ”Heh heh, you finally arrived! I was waiting for you!” he sneered, dodging the attack by stepping to the left, a cunning look of a successful scheme on his face.

”Sister Ying!” With a slight flex of his fingers, Ye Qingchen snapped the ropes binding Ye Ying. He quickly took off his own outer shirt and wrapped it around her.

”Qingchen... sob...” Ye Ying wept in his arms.

Seeing her crying, her face as beautiful as a pear blossom in the rain, Ye Qingchen’s heart ached with fury. He turned his wrathful gaze on Han Liang. ”How dare you bully my Sister Ying. Han Liang, you are courting death!”

”You want to kill me? Very well, Ye Qingchen, you’ve got guts! I’ll give you a chance. Meet me at the Life and Death Arena for a duel to the death!” Han Liang sneered. He was certain that Ye Qingchen couldn’t possibly walk off the Life and Death Arena alive. After all, he was a martial master, while Ye Qingchen was merely a Ninth Layer Martial Artist.

With that thought, Han Liang turned and walked confidently toward the Life and Death Arena without a backward glance, completely sure that Ye Qingchen would follow.

And that he would die.
