Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

Shen Xiangdong worked quickly, soon compiling a list of fruit trees and vegetables for Shen Nian.

Furthermore, his selections weren’t far from what Shen Nian had envisioned. This proved that Shen Xiangdong truly had a talent for this, and that Shen Nian’s choice had been absolutely right.

Moreover, Shen Nian had already cultivated most of the fruit tree and vegetable varieties on the list within her space.

Once the land was secured, their farm could launch.

The large-scale rental of mountain forests and farmland proposed by Shen Nian and her group was beyond the authority of the village leaders, so the matter was escalated directly to the county.

Although it was common for people to lease land in the countryside, the sheer size of the area Shen Nian’s group requested still startled the county leaders—especially since it included a mountain forest.

’Farmland, at least, could be cultivated. But that back mountain has been sitting empty for years!’

’If they could actually manage to lease it out, the accomplishment for their county would be absolutely huge!’

’And Shen Nian was proposing a thirty-year lease! The rent for thirty years would be no small sum!’

The thirty-year lease term was Shen Nian’s idea. After all, she was certain of the farm’s future prospects, so thirty years didn’t seem too long. Plus, the rent was definitely much cheaper now. If she leased it for a shorter period, the price could be jacked up during renewal once the farm became successful, and Shen Nian refused to let that happen.

So, Shen Nian made a firm decision: a thirty-year lease.

Shen Nian’s bold move not only startled the Shen family but also took the county leaders by surprise. For the leaders, however, that surprise was quickly followed by delight.

’Thirty years of rent! What a massive accomplishment that would be!’

’To land this project, they would absolutely be willing to offer Shen Nian’s group a few extra incentives!’

However, even though the county leaders did offer them a considerable discount, the final agreed-upon rent still stunned Shen Nian’s group.

Three hundred thousand, after rounding down.

Shen Nian knew perfectly well that three hundred thousand wasn’t an expensive price for what they were getting. But for an ordinary family of that era, it was an astronomical sum!

Shen Xiangdong, who had come along with Shen Nian and Lu Cheng, went pale when he heard the price of three hundred thousand.

”Xiao Nian, that’s too expensive! How could we possibly afford that much money? Maybe we shouldn’t rent it... or maybe we could rent a smaller area for less time...”

Shen Xiangdong whispered, leaning close to Shen Nian’s ear. He had already been taken aback when Shen Nian mentioned leasing for thirty years, but now, hearing the sum of three hundred thousand, his mind went completely blank.

”Brother, if we’re going to build this farm, we’re going to do it right. And thirty years isn’t that long.”

After reassuring Shen Xiangdong, Shen Nian turned back to face the county leaders.

”Everyone, we’ll need to go back and discuss this further. Besides, three hundred thousand is a large sum. We’ll need time to raise the funds.”

”Of course, of course. Go back and discuss it thoroughly. You can come back once you’ve reached a decision.”

The leader was understanding. After all, it was three hundred thousand. Even they had been startled when they first calculated the figure. They had originally thought the number would scare Shen Nian’s group off, but she had only said they needed to go back to discuss things and find a way to raise the money.
