Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

Lu Cheng could guarantee his feelings for Shen Nian would never change, but he couldn’t completely guarantee his family’s.

Although, for now, the entire Lu family seemed to like Shen Nian very much.

But there was no guarantee that problems wouldn’t arise in the future. After all, four years was a long time, and Mrs. Lu had already expressed her desire for grandchildren after they married.

Even though Lu Cheng had faith in his family, he still had to prepare for the worst.

Since he had made a promise to Shen Nian, Lu Cheng had no intention of breaking it.

If the time came when Mrs. Lu truly did start to complain about Shen Nian over the issue of children, Lu Cheng would be there to protect her. And even if he wasn’t, Shen Nian’s own family would be there for her. He wasn’t worried about her suffering any major grievances over the matter.

Shen Nian hadn’t expected Lu Cheng to have thought so far ahead in such a short time. But when he mentioned investing, her eyes lit up.

’That’s right, how could I not have thought of that!’

”Investing?”

Shen Jian Country and Shen Xiangdong also looked toward Lu Cheng, waiting for him to explain what he meant.

”That’s right, Dad, Brother, just think of it as an investment! We’ll put up the initial capital, and in return, we’ll take a stake in the farm. Once your farm starts making money, Brother, you can just pay us dividends based on our shares! But, that means you’ll technically be working for me! You’ll be toiling away while I just sit at home counting money!”

Shen Nian deliberately made it sound so casual because she didn’t want her family to feel too burdened.

”Yes, Xiao Nian is right. It would be a system of dividends based on shares.”

Hearing Shen Nian repeatedly say ”we,” Lu Cheng was overjoyed. It wasn’t just about spending a little money; he would have gladly spent much more.

”Xiao Nian, you make it sound so nice, but I know I’m the one getting the better end of this deal. What you’re describing is what happens if the farm makes a profit. But what if it loses money? The initial investment is all from you. If we lose it all...”

Shen Xiangdong had always doted on his younger sister, Shen Nian. Forget about dividends—he would give her all the money he earned without a second thought.

But now, it was obvious that Shen Nian was helping him, and she was deliberately downplaying her own contribution while exaggerating the benefits for him.

’As her older brother, how could he take such a huge advantage of his little sister!’

Shen Nian knew her brother had a talent for big things. ’See? He’s so forward-thinking!’

”Don’t you worry, Brother! With us siblings teaming up, there’s no way we’ll lose money! Besides, you’d never be willing to let your little sister lose money, so you’re bound to work hard, right?”

”Of course!”

That was his sister and brother-in-law’s money. If this deal really went through, Shen Xiangdong would work himself to the bone before he’d ever let his sister lose a dime.

Of course, at that moment, how could Shen Xiangdong have known? The farm his sister was setting up for him was a business that was guaranteed not to lose money. There would be no need for him to work himself to the bone.

”Well, that settles it. Consider it decided!”

”Alright. I’ll contact someone about leasing the forest and fields in a few days.”

”Huh?”

Shen Jian Country and the others stared at each other. Weren’t they still hesitating and discussing it? How had it been decided so suddenly? And Lu Cheng was already going to make inquiries about the lease?

”Isn’t... isn’t this a little too rushed?”

”Not at all. Since it’s decided, the sooner, the better.”

”So, I’ll go and quit my job then?”

”Yes! That’s the spirit, Brother! Very decisive. I’ve got high hopes for you!”

”Heh heh!”

Shen Xiangdong scratched the back of his head. He felt a little sheepish being praised by his sister like that.

Standing off to the side, Shen Xiangnan had listened as the family decided the entire course of his older brother’s future in just a few short moments. The way he looked at Shen Nian and Lu Cheng, his eyes were practically glowing.

”Sis, you’re setting up a whole farm for our brother. What about me? What are you going to set me up with?”
