ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

Blacksmiths. When it comes to weapons and armor creation in Shangri-La Frontier, it is not the kind of a job that is delegated solely to NPCs.

Players themselves can create, enhance, evolve, and even find out more and more about weapons and armors. This kind of activity is recognized as part of the extraordinary reality and freedom in the game called Shangri-La Frontier, where you don’t have to just swing a sword or raise a staff and shoot spells…… Many Players are as enthusiastic about creating various items as others are about using them.

It’s true that ancient and modern eastern and western Hack and Slash, and dynamic action games are the essence of this particular kind of game, but production-themed games that put an emphasis on creating and expanding something also depend on the social status and life of the individual. So it could be said that it was still something that was classified as “unusual”.

But back to the topic at hand.

The creation of weapons and armor in this Shangri-La Frontier…… It boasts a high degree of freedom without straying too far from the freedom and quality of the game itself.

However. after all, it is not just that blacksmiths can do whatever they want without any sort of limitations being put on them. It’s like a kind of a mini-game that is “fun” and “moderately fun” as game content, depending on one’s skill.

First of all, the Player starts by “designing” the weapon that they want to make. What kind of weapon is it going to be? What kind of appearance is it going to take? What kind of performance is it going to have? As for the setting method, some people design their items from scratch, while others adopt a preset design set in advance by the game’s system. But some really rare patterns allow the Player to scan what they actually want to make and bring it into the game’s world.

However, if all of those things could be realized all at once, this would no longer be a game. It could be a gradual simulation of despair if everyone had a sword that would kill their enemies just by raising it in the air slightly. Sure, the game could still be playable, but would it be an enjoyable experience?

Therefore, whether or not the ideal design and ideal performance are achieved is determined by the subsequent processes…… That is, the selection of materials and the result of actual blacksmithing actions.

For example, let’s say the blacksmith wants to make a “Staff that increases the power of water magic”. At first, they would try to make it happen by using the branches of trees that can be harvested nearby and the stones that can be obtained with a perfectly ordinary pickaxe. But at best, the result would be a staff with some ordinary stones embedded in its body. If you want to make a “Staff that increases the power of water magic” without going for any sort of compromise, you need to use at least the ore that can be mined at some high quality waterside, underwater, or near the groundwater veins, or use the materials obtained from aquatic monsters. And if you want the item to have a high performance, the materials you use should be of even better quality.

Each material item has Resource Points assigned to it, which meets the numerical quota required to create a weapon, and the blacksmith Player’s “forging” magic level also has to meet the required value…… A “Staff that increases the power of water-based magic” is created once all of those criteria are met.

If the materials are good, the ideal weapon will be created, and if the materials are bad, even the design itself is going to be distorted and could perish. Therefore, the Player who gets the job of the blacksmith also needs to obtain their ideal materials all by themselves…… Or, they can ask for the materials that would form their ideal weapons by entrusting the acquisition of those to other Players.

However, all the information up to this point is just a premise and a foundation. If you want to create something truly excellent in this game…… The Players who came to be involved with the job of blacksmiths also need to broaden their qualifications and increase their title, not only taking things for granted…… And this is a work with seemingly no end in sight.

You also need to apply certain assumptions and common sense here. Or affirm certain things with the use of common sense on the premise of the fact that a paradox might occur. High-quality materials are required to create the ideal equipment, and the skill of the blacksmith who processes them is also very important…… That is, the proficiency level of forging magic is of grave importance here. In other words, to put all of the information above the other way around……

─── With the finest materials and the highest skills as a blacksmith, you can theoretically create any weapon that you might desire. It is nothing but a proof of the upside-down theory.

「It’s done…… Finally! Finally! It’s finally done! And I even managed to finish before the end of the year! Hahahahaha!!!」

Inside of the “Workshop” located within the Bunny Court, Rabbitz, the land of the Vorpal Bunnies. One particular person was cheering with ecstasy.

That person looks like a stubble and unfriendly middle-aged man, but her name is Imron. Some call her “the Hero of the Mallet,” and some call her “the Player with the Highest Level Blacksmith Skills.”

The author of such items as the masterpiece “Super Cat ‘Jarashi Lv.100’”, the masterpiece “Excessive Core Heat Sword ‘Crimson Heat Riser’”, and the mysterious work “Imron Seven Great Sins Series” that is still talked about with awe because of its impact and the size of the work itself. She is a master craftsman or simply “Master Blacksmith” who created all of the above items, and thinks that there is a way for her to achieve even greater heights, the highest hidden profession of “God Master” in this very Bunny country, except for the acquisition of materials of course. She lived a life of withdrawal into her workshop ever since it was given to her by the ruler of this country.

The reason she was so pleased with herself was that she had succeeded in overcoming the “wall” that had been blocking all of the Blacksmith Players for a while now.

「I’m over the limit! Did you see that, ShanFro? I managed to beat the Server AI! I won! Ahahahahahahah!!」

It is now becoming completely forgotten, but once there was a “wall” that every blacksmith Player had to overcome if they wanted to become even better at their craft…… That is , “the creation of a gun”.

Shangri-La Frontier is a half-science half-high fantasy game that mixes the two eras together: “modern”, the one of fantasy swords and magic, and “The Era of the Gods,” a science fiction of robots and guns. It was suggested at the time of the tutorial, and if you are a Player who has visited the ruins and areas where the remains of the Gods still remain to this day, you will start to think at some point: “Can I actually use guns in this game”?

In conclusion, even if you bring the blueprints of the gun into the world of ShangriLa Frontier, you cannot make a gun because you cannot make precise parts that would be needed to make one, and after all, before one Player in particular managed to reveal that there was a star-traveling vessel in this world called “Bahamut”, the knowledge of firearms in this game was fairly limited. But now that era was coming to an end.

And now, with the appearance of the second Bahamut, the Behemoth, in the Old World, Players can easily create guns at level 50 and above.

The “gun-making” wall that once stood in front of all blacksmiths was easily overcome by obtaining a Gunsmith license within Bahamut!

That is why Imron challenged herself to the difficult task of creating a gun that did not rely on the Era of the Gods civilization. She used to pile up the shattered pieces in hopes of overcoming that hurdle, and now that she has actually overcome it, her pride was seeping out of her uncontrollably ——-!!!!!!

「Abandon the common sense of a gun and make a new gun……… This is the place where I have finally arrived after changing my approach like that! The Origin that I arrived at after gaining the know-how of making weapons of the Era of the Gods! I wonder if I can make it now!?」

There was a strange thing sitting in the place where Imron was looking all hot and bothered. It’s too much to actually call that thing a “gun” … No, she knew deep down inside that it was still not enough.

「In short, if you pull the trigger………something should come flying out of it……!!」

Or it may not be recognized as a gun. In the first place, the person who made it thought the same thing, “Is this really a gun?” But still, it was created nonetheless.

No matter how inconvenient it may be, she didn’t know if anyone could use it in the first place…… Or maybe it would be called a “failure” in the general public.

But still, Imron, who had a feverish eyes that almost looked crazy, believed that it was a win here. It’s frustrating to remember, but there is still someone who is one step ahead of her on the path to becoming a “God Master”…… No, that someone was a few steps ahead, and it was not even a Player, but an NPC! A Vorpal Bunny of all things!

「Even if it looks like a fail, I bet that someone can still make a use out of this thing……」

The tester had an idea.

Sitting on the cold and sharp anvil……… While staring at a pair of handguns, Imron was waiting with bloodshot eyes for the tester to make his return to Rabbitz……
