First-Year Internship—And You Went to Site 749 to Contain Monsters?!

Looking at these words.

Lu Ding thought to himself.

Wind-Moon Demon, isn’t this the Scorpion Spirit from Journey to the West?

This thing has some tricks up its sleeve. It’s not an ordinary spirit creature or demon, but a demon that cultivated at the Great Thunder Sound Temple. It has a background. Because she overheard Buddha’s sermon that she shouldn’t have listened to, Buddha pushed her, not wanting her to listen. Unexpectedly, she was bold.

She stuck out her butt and gave Buddha a jab.

It hurt Buddha so much he nearly dropped his composure, yet he still had to appear calm and unbothered on his face, letting out Old Qian’s laugh.

”Ha~ ha~ ha~ this lesser demon does have some skill.”

In reality, the hand hidden beneath his robe kept rubbing, ow, ow, it kinda hurts.

Truly, she had revealed her capabilities. But the Scorpion Spirit also, because she stung Buddha, didn’t dare return, and hid in Pipa Cave near the Women’s Kingdom, becoming one of the trials on Brother Monkey and his group’s journey west.

She was also lucky.

If not for a series of coincidences making her into a trial, just watch, Buddha would have dealt with her!

However, this also laid the groundwork for the Scorpion Spirit’s death later.

Lu Ding remembered, in the original text, the Scorpion Spirit’s true identity was exposed after she stung Brother Monkey, breaking through his Copper Head Iron Brain. Then Guanyin appeared and revealed the Scorpion Spirit’s origins.

Just think about it.

Bodhisattva Guanyin didn’t actively appear many times. The Tongtian River trial was one where Brother Monkey had to go beg her and wait for her.

But here, she actively appeared, going out of her way to have Brother Monkey summon the Rooster Sun Star Official.

If there wasn’t some reason, if no one behind the scenes had given orders, she definitely wouldn’t have been so eager.

As for who was behind it, it’s hard to guess.

Moreover, on the journey west, the demons that were truly killed weren’t many.

This Scorpion Spirit was one of them.

The original text records it.

[One foot stepped on the monster’s chest and back, saying: Wicked beast! This time you can’t use the Horse-Felling Poison! The monster didn’t move at all, and was pounded by the idiot’s rake into a mush of paste.]

Her death was quite tragic.

But her deeds, one must say, were impressive.

First stung Buddha, then stung Brother Monkey.

It hurt Brother Monkey so much he kept crying ouch, ouch.

Just based on this attack intensity and numerical mechanics, Lu Ding acknowledged it.

It’s just that the Scorpion Spirit only had the means but her cultivation was too weak. Otherwise, relying on this Horse-Felling Poison Stake, she’d at least be a regional knife, gun, and cannon!!!

But then again.

”I don’t have a tail either. How am I supposed to sting people?”

And besides, if he really grew a scorpion tail, Lu Ding definitely wouldn’t want it.

The next moment.

His confusion was answered.

On the Golden Finger, words lit up.

[Stinger, in position!]

[Horse-Felling Poison Stake, in position!]

The words appeared.

Gradually disappeared.

New words appeared.

[Divine Ability: Nipping Poison, Phoenix Piercing Flower]

[Nipping Poison, Phoenix Piercing Flower: Condense poison into armor, one-hit kill, no trace left by the strike, inject poison into the body, one of the most painful things in the world]

Lu Ding raised his hand.

He watched as on his middle finger and index finger, with delicate skin and bamboo-joint-like fingers, talisman patterns slowly materialized, like dragon scales climbing, soft armor covering flesh, spreading inch by inch from the finger base, until wrapping the fingertips, then extending outward, growing sharp poison spikes. It was armor and finger protection, but also a hidden poison weapon, an offensive divine ability.

Most importantly, it was both flashy and handsome!!!!!

Lu Ding flexed the two fingers encased in armor, watching the dragon scales reflect light.

No doubt about it.

Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!

And this one-hit kill didn’t mean that being stabbed would kill instantly. Rather, after being stabbed, you’d be literally tortured to death by pain.

Lei Xiao had sharp eyes and noticed the change on Lu Ding’s hand, exclaiming in surprise: ”So handsome, and it’s black-gold color scheme!!!!”

”What is this? Armor treasure? Is it convenient to wear?”

”Wait no, in TV shows I’ve seen, they always wear armor on the pinky and ring fingers. Brother Lu, why are you wearing them on your index and middle fingers?”

Lu Ding was quite satisfied hearing her praise, but her confusion left him speechless.

”People wear them on the pinky and ring fingers because it’s convenient for the Orchid Finger gesture, looks good. If I wore them on those two fingers and did the Orchid Finger, wouldn’t that be girly? You think that looks good?”

”And wearing them on the index and middle fingers is more convenient for combat. These two aren’t decoration, they’re functional.”

Lei Xiao was curious: ”What’s the use? I feel like they’d just get in the way. Wearing them when there’s nothing to do would look pretty domineering at least.”

Lu Ding was speechless, rolled his eyes: ”Poking people hurts a lot.”

Lei Xiao was like a curious baby: ”How much does it hurt?”

Lu Ding: ”You’ll die.”

Lei Xiao: ”Oh my!!? It can kill people? Then I’ve gotta try it no matter what. Come on, come on, Brother Lu, poke me and let me see.”

This reckless idiot.

No wonder the old saying goes, if a person is a moron, even medicine won’t cure them.

He told her it hurts a lot, it can kill, and she still wanted to try it. She was definitely afflicted with some kind of condition.

Lu Ding didn’t want to bother with her.

But he couldn’t stand her constant nagging: ”Come on, come on, Brother Lu, try it, just one try, just one, after one try I’ll stop making a fuss.”

Lu Ding was annoyed speechless by her.

Without any warning or sign, he suddenly stabbed her.

Just once.

Lei Xiao’s face visibly began to flush red, then turn pale.

Then he heard.

”Mother of god!!!!! Oh my god!!!!!!!”

”It hurts!!!! Hurts!!!!! Hurts so much I’m dying!!!!!!!”

”Holy shit!!!!! Why the hell does it hurt so much!!!!!!”

”Ah!!!!!!!!”

Suddenly.

His screams cut off abruptly.

Lu Ding removed his head, then smashed his body with a palm strike, helping him trigger the restart code.

The next second.

Lei Xiao revived again.

Then the screams continued.

”Ah!!!!! Holy shit!!! Why does it still hurt after reviving, it hurts!!!! It hurts!!! Brother Lu!!! It’s killing me!! Oh my god!!!!”

”Quick quick quick!! Kill me again, kill me!!!!!!”

”Kill me a few more times!!!!!”

Lei Xiao never in his dreams imagined there could be pain like this, pain that made him roll on the ground.

And logically speaking, after reviving once, his body state would be refreshed, any negative effects would be cleared.

But.

This time, it didn’t work. It was like it had stuck to him. Dying once at most reduced it a little, but that reduction was almost negligible.

He was truly about to break down.

His whole body leaped violently, using his head to make intimate contact with Mountain Baby, a snuggle!

Turns out Mountain Baby couldn’t withstand his deep affection and directly shattered.

But Lei Xiao was fine.

This guy, his physical body had some substance to it.

Finally Lu Ding went up and killed him many more times.

Only then did he escape from the pain.

Reviving once more, Lei Xiao plopped down on the ground, face pale, drenched in sweat, like he’d been pulled out of water.

Gasping for air, even so, she could still raise a thumbs up, praising Lu Ding: ”Th-there’s power to it. Painful, really fucking painful. The most fucking painful time in this life, in my past life. Even more painful than when my uncle took me to get my foreskin cut.”

”It hurt me so bad I’m helpless. Oh my...... I need to recover. My brain is all numb right now.”

”No no, gotta recover, recover......”

Lu Ding listened to her words, clicked his tongue. She had the nerve to say it, but Lu Ding didn’t even have the nerve to listen.

With such a good-looking face, every word out of her mouth was filthy.

”You’re a 749 investigator now, a national civil servant. Can you pay attention to your image? I don’t care if you curse, I curse too, but don’t be so filthy. You’re even bringing up foreskin. I really need to discipline you.”

Lu Ding raised his hand, making the motion to poke her again.

This scared Lei Xiao so much that, just moments ago with a numb brain and weak limbs, she scrambled away on hands and feet: ”Brother Lu!! I was wrong, Brother Lu!!! Don’t come closer, let’s talk nicely. You can kill me all you want, just don’t poke me with that thing, I’m begging you!!!”

”Being poked by that thing once, I’d confess to anything except admitting I’m from Tai Island. I can even frame a few people. Whoever you want me to frame, I’ll frame. If you say my uncle is a bastard, I’ll say you’re right!”
