First-Year Internship—And You Went to Site 749 to Contain Monsters?!

The three of them boarded the plane.

Not long after, a small aircraft took off from the advanced training site.

Wooo～～～

It shot straight toward Hetu Country.

High in the sky.

The counselor was chatting with Lu Ding and Bai Hemen inside the small cabin.

Lu Ding suddenly asked, “Isn’t Hetu not exactly on good terms with us?”

It’s not just now, it’s always been bad—they’ve been taught for thousands of years to be that way, top to bottom.

“Hahahahaha... so what if it’s bad? Like Old Li says, if they dare get spiky, just beat the hll out of them.”“Yeah, and I’ve got to especially remind you two: once we’re there, don’t be too soft. The cultivators of Qi over there are bullies who only fear the tough.”

When it came to this topic, the counselor suddenly got animated. He said to Lu Ding and Bai Hemen:

“Back then, Hetu was plagued with internal and external issues. We, the Great Han, gave them full support—military supplies, money, food. 749 Bureau sent waves of cultivators to help. Calling it a life-saving grace isn’t an exaggeration.”

“But Hetu couldn’t read the situation. Thought they were all that, a military power. Grew a rebellious streak, and kept stirring trouble at our border.”

“For that kind of provocation, we chose to hit back directly. 749 elites led the way, followed by the troops—cutting through them like slicing melons. In about a month, we were right outside their capital.”

“But that crappy place? We didn’t even want it. So we pulled out. And Hetu? Still wouldn’t behave.”

“Kept stirring up trouble on the border.”

“To sum it up: major 749 branches and military districts took turns, using it as real-world training. Beat them so hard they were howling.”

“They still haven’t recovered to this day......”

“Power lines blown in half, buildings had their load-bearing walls bombed, bridges had their piers blasted, mines rigged with bombs, railways dug up, even their chicken coops got hit with grenades.”

“Took our money, our food, our supplies, then turned around and tried to screw us? Well, here you go, hold onto it tight and don’t you dare let go.”

The counselor got more and more fired up as he spoke.

Finally, he raised his teacup and downed it in one big gulp.

Bai Hemen asked in confusion, “Why not just knock the whole thing down directly?”

Lu Ding smiled, “That’s where you don’t get it—blow up half, and they’ve gotta clean up the rest themselves.....”

Bai Hemen got it, then grinned.

The counselor crossed his legs, “So when we get there, don’t bother with pleasantries. That Dragon Wall site back then? Our 749 top brass blasted it open.”

“When we get there, it’s like coming home. No need to bend over backwards—we’ve got plenty of our own people there.”

“Even though it’s in Hetu, the rights to that site belong to us. We can go in without notice. If they want in? They’ve got to check in with us......”

While the three were chatting.

Outside in the sky, Hetu’s fighter jets streaked past.

Spotting the handsome aircraft marked with the Great Han flag,

the two Hetu fighter pilots were stunned.

“This... what is that? How come I’ve never seen it before? Did Han just roll out some new high-tech gear?”

The other replied, “I knew it. Han’s always been keeping secrets. I saw online a few days ago that their netizens were saying: Han retires first-gen, hypes up second-gen, claims to be researching third-gen.”

“But really, fourth-gen is already done, fifth-gen’s entering testing, and sixth-gen’s on the schedule.”

“Those Han people are way too sneaky!!!”

Then he turned on the radio.

Back on this side.

Lu Ding and the others were still chatting.

Suddenly, a voice came through the radio system.

[Great Han military aircraft, please note: you have entered our national airspace. Please return immediately. Please return immediately.]

Hearing that.

The three glanced out the window. As the view pulled back,

they saw Hetu’s fighter jets chasing right behind them.

The counselor put his leg down: “Polite enough to say ‘please,’ huh.”

He grabbed the mic: “Open your eyes and take a good look—see what unit this plane belongs to. Don’t recognize it? Snap a photo and ask your superiors.”

Clearly, they didn’t recognize this was a 749 Bureau aircraft.

Still, they kept arguing.

[No matter who you are, you must return immediately. Otherwise, we will take enforcement measures.]

Well, since talking doesn’t work, the counselor’s temper flared instantly.

“Oh, now you’re getting bold? Enforcement measures? Come on then—got the guts, lock your fire control radar on me!!”

Though the counselor usually handled miscellaneous affairs,

at the training facility, he was solidly second in command.

He didn’t always have such a bad temper.

But hey, years of working with Li Chenglong would rub off on anyone.

Remember how Zhao Gang in Drawing Sword started as a scholar? Still got warped by Old Li.

Back in Hetu’s fighter jet.

After hearing that response, they quickly snapped a photo and sent it back. Headquarters’ reply came immediately.

[Ignore it. Don’t engage. Pretend you didn’t see it. Get out now.]

Seeing this message, the pilot who had first warned Lu Ding and the others cursed in Hetu dialect: “F**.”

He figured they wouldn’t understand. Just as he was about to pull away—

That curse, through the open mic, landed straight in the counselor’s ears.

His main job was training 749 investigators here and he often dealt with Hetu cultivators, so of course he understood that profanity.

“Who the hll are you cursing at, huh? I’m asking you, who are you cursing at!?”

Hearing the voice through the mic,

the pilot knew he was screwed and tried to flee in his jet.

The counselor saw it all.

Tossed the mic aside.

Got up and yanked open the cabin door. A fierce gust of wind roared in, whipping through his hair.

“Lu Ding, I remember you can fly, right?”

Lu Ding smiled, “Yep. And way faster than that junk plane of his.”

The counselor pointed at the fleeing Hetu fighter: “Bring those two back to me. Smash that plane while you’re at it.”

As he spoke, he pointed to the law enforcement recorder on his chest: “I’ll take full responsibility for everything!”

Back home, things might be different.

But out here, as investigators of the Great Han’s 749 Bureau, they represented the face of the nation.

Flying a 749 aircraft, wearing 749 insignia—if someone cursed at them and they just let it slide, this counselor might as well resign.

You’re a civilian, I won’t hurt you.

But if you curse at me, this won’t end today.

Beside him, Bai Hemen was just about to pour tea for Lu Ding and the counselor.

Hearing that, he froze mid-action.

Lu Ding stood up: “Go ahead and pour. I’ll drink it when I’m back.”

As soon as the words fell, a figure shot out into the sky at lightning speed.

Meanwhile, the radar of the Hetu jet lit up with a red dot rapidly closing in.

The pilot who had cursed was shaken: “What the hll is moving that fast?!”

BANG!!!

The fighter jolted violently.

Lu Ding landed hard on the jet, stamping two deep dents underfoot.

The two Hetu pilots turned their heads.

Their expressions looked like they’d seen a ghost.

A person!?

How the h*ll is there a person at this altitude!!!?
