My Players Are So Fierce

The last time I saw a living sentinel was by the side of that remarkable Mr. Murphy, and that Sentinel Lady had clearly gone through some inhuman torture that left her incomplete, but the one you brought back…

Is not the usual type of World Guardian.”

“To speak frankly, the entire capture process was quite mundane, nothing more than setting traps, an old technique for luring prey.”

The Monk Leader waved his hand humbly and gently, saying:

“Perhaps I should express my luck; after more than two years of preparation, I finally netted this Big Fish. As I described to you during our last conversation, we have always overlooked those legends and stories beneath the sunlight, those who tell the best stories can create worlds and dominate them, and they can equally desecrate, torment, and destroy worlds. Besides this distinguished lady, there is another gratifying outcome from my journey: I have confirmed the location of The Heart of the World, but entering it means passing through the layers of defenses of the Sentinel Corps. That’s something completely unattainable under current circumstances. We need an opportunity. An opportunity that can cause the mighty Sentinel Corps to lose sight of one thing while attending to another, and in pursuit of this opportunity, we must make a more challenging choice. Scholar, is Lady Yuan still not responding to our call?”

“That woman is mad, Monk Leader.”

While examining the sentinel locked in the box as if it were a piece of art, the Scholar said without turning his head:

“Relentlessly hunted by the Duke of Thorn Clan and the Transian Dragonflame Mage, losing her ‘puppets’ repeatedly, she’s been forced into a corner; I’ve heard of that inventive Murphy forming a faction specifically to hunt her down.

Currently, except for Castia Kingdom, all other places where Yuan set her puppets and followers have been slaughtered.

I have sufficient reasoning to calculate that the relentless hunter’s next move is to head towards the Witch Cult’s origin and completely strangle our pitiful old friend in the Forest Kingdom of the elves; she will be the first of our leaders to be eliminated.

Most dreadfully, she has severed all contact with us unilaterally.

It seems she’s planning a reckless gamble, risking everything to fulfill her foolish ambition.

A long time ago, I warned, Monk Leader, Yuan’s twisted attachment to the Grand Duke of Triss is her most terrifying weakness, and now, this weakness has been discovered and can be exploited at any moment to deliver her a truly fatal blow.

The Witch Cult has become our liability!

Especially since the Dead Moon Church officially inhabiting the Ruins of Xike and gradually seizing control there, Yuan can no longer offer more aid to our cause.

She should be put on the chessboard, at least to draw some attention for us.

Otherwise, whatever we plan to do on the Old Continent, Mr. Murphy holding God’s Scepter wouldn’t let it go smoothly.”

“Show up and die, and even if you don’t, you’ll still die, as long as the scent reaches them.”

The Slave Master fiddled with a butterfly knife in the shadows, leaning against the cabin wall, saying:

“God’s Scepter’s power currently seems unparalleled, and Murphy is a hunter who has drawn his war bow, simply waiting for us to show our hand, then to welcome the wrath of purification from the heavens. I don’t know how many times that weapon can fire. But I suspect there might be enough to give each of us one. We are a shadow-hidden organization, and clandestine operation is our principle and self-protection; being pulled from the shadows means losing all our advantages. We can’t fight Murphy and his growing supporters in the sunlight. That’s not our territory.”

“Alas, classic defense mechanisms, much like the body’s immune system, which secretes white cells upon detecting bacteria… unfortunately, we are the bacteria in His eyes.”

The Monk Leader shook his head in the cabin, saying:

“The moment the creator’s Alpha Plan was initiated, our movements were detected; failing to seize Murphy from the masses and disrupt the Foreign Spirit Heroes’ activities in this world was our biggest mistake. Redeeming that now is unattainable. It turns out that His eyes have never left this world, yet this game against a god is intriguing, and I guess, even the omnipotent creator and His handpicked outstanding representatives only have one set of eyes. He cannot focus on two battlefields simultaneously. So, set the pieces in the right positions. Slave Master, deploy our hidden forces in the Old Continent, fully support our sisters’ activities in Castia Kingdom; perhaps she might bring a surprise, after all, Mr. Murphy is young, and his heart is entirely devoted to Lady Triss. A powerful enemy isn’t terrifying, especially when they have such apparent weaknesses. Perhaps our sister Yuan will indeed give us a surprise.”

“Alright, I will return via the Star Realm Tunnel and fulfill your instructions.”

The Slave Master, given his task, nodded, turned, and vanished into the cabin’s shadow.

The Monk Leader and Scholar left there maintained a silent tacit understanding until confirming the Slave Master had left; only then did the Scholar close up the wooden chest by his side, turning back to the Monk Leader:

“Only Yuan’s actions are not secure; her distorted mind is the least stable factor. I think we should prepare another ‘insurance’ for the remarkable Mr. Murphy.”
