Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

Andre ordered the fleet to dock and search.

He discovered that the Iron Fist Legion guarding the fortress had been butchered by the Rising Steam Legion, leaving only dried blood on the ground.

Li Yao followed the traces of blood. Not far away from the fortress, the broken bodies of the Iron Fist Legion had been piled up into a high tower by the soldiers of the Steam Legion.

They had even placed a giant gear at the top of the tower.

In such an arrogant way, the soldiers of the Steam Legion flaunted their strength in front of the Temple of Fist and called on the citizens to watch. Look, the Temple of Fist is nothing special. The Dark Age, where the Fist God ruled the world for ten thousand years, is about to be gone forever!

The further south they went, the more frequent such scenes appeared.

They had reached the war zone. The elite priests and soldiers of the Iron Fist Legion, who had been summoned from the Temple of Fist in the north, had gathered in this place and formed an army of a million soldiers. They were searching for the soldiers of the Steam Legion who claimed to have the same number of soldiers and waiting for an opportunity to launch a final war. It would be a battle that would decide the fate of the Fist God’s World.

It was as if two enormous beasts were roaring and baring their fangs and brandishing their claws to test each other before they collided.

Both the Iron Fist Legion and the Steam Legion had sent countless scouts, suicide squads, and anti-terrorist squads to every corner of the south as their eyes and ears.

The small-scale armed forces were often caught unprepared.

Every time they met face to face, the battle between the brave would be exceptionally fierce and cruel.

Except for interrogation, nobody would be left alive.

As for the captives who had been interrogated, they could not find any intact flesh or blood even if they searched all the bones in their body. They might as well be killed on the battlefield.

The ‘capital temple’ made of the bodies and heads of the two parties could be found everywhere. They often saw the dead bodies of the Iron Fist Legion lying everywhere in the town, but when they reached the burning town below them, they would see countless broken machines and the bones of the soldiers who had been reduced to minced meat and mud.

The battle between the Iron Fist Legion and the Steam Legion had entered the climax.

The southern land had almost lost all order. Beasts and bandits were everywhere. The devils in human skin were often crueler than the Iron Fist Legion and the Steam Legion.

More and more towns along the river turned into empty tombs. After all, for the residents of the towns, even if they stayed in their homes obediently, they would be killed as heretics or tortured by ferocious beasts and bandits when the Iron Fist Legion arrived.

Since he was going to die anyway, he might as well join the Steam Legion and die a glorious death.

As a result, the mass support of the Steam Legion in the south was quite satisfactory.

Even in the seemingly burning, barren land, when they saw Andre’s fleet under the banner of ‘Machinery and Steam’, they could not help but notice that delicate, mechanical-driven wheels had been installed at the back of the ships. Steam was even popping up nonstop. Very soon, ‘Machinery and Steam Believers’, who were dressed like civilians, would crawl out and provide information to them in exchange for supplies.

With the help of the believers of steam, the soldiers from the north finally got in touch with the ‘headquarters’ in the south.

After the wounded were treated in the homes of the believers of the south and provided with sufficient supplies, the visitors from the north were somewhat relieved and regained most of their combat ability.

However, the believers of the Southern Steam Legion whom they met could not tell where the main force of the Southern Steam Legion was right now.

It was said that the main force of the Iron Fist Legion, who were holding the flag high, was marching toward the south together with the Iron Fist Legion, which was marching forward unstoppably and trying to sweep the enemy’s territory. The Iron Fist Legion was playing hide-and-seek and searching for an opportunity while the enemy’s assets, strength, and fighting will were being wasted.

This was the final battle. The location of the main force of both sides was a top secret of great importance. Naturally, it was not something that could be easily revealed.

Several squads of the Southern Steam Legion enthusiastically invited Andre and the rest of them to join hands and fight in the periphery with them. When the final battle truly began, there would naturally be many opportunities to make contributions and serve the God of Steam.

Andre was not willing to lose the independence of the team at hand, nor did he want to do the tedious, unrewarding, dirty work in the periphery of the war zone. Therefore, he pushed the two siblings, Gus and Grey, out and formally introduced them as ‘Holy Sons’ and ‘Holy Virgins’.

The attitude of the southern army toward the two ‘saints’ and ‘saints’ was ambiguous.

They did not kneel, but they did not deny their authenticity, either.

Such uprisings that were carried out in the name of gods and devils were often mixed with feudal superstitions. Often, the believers would declare that they had heard the ‘sacred teachings’ of a true god and even asked for the power of a true god.

The Southern Steam Legion had seen a lot of such things. It was inappropriate to call it a scam just because it was simple and straightforward, in case it undermined the enthusiasm of most believers. But it was impossible to admit it immediately, because it concerned the ownership of power, the distribution of benefits, the status of the believers, and all kinds of other troublesome things.

In the end, after multiple negotiations and compromises, the northern steam army led by Andre settled down in an independent squad near a small river named ‘Red Sand River’, a tributary of the great river in the south.

This area was considered to be the rear of the Steam Legion. The seven to eight towns within a hundred square kilometers were all under the control of the Steam Legion and could provide supplies for Andre’s team. The condition was that they had to fight side by side in case the Iron Fist Legion invaded this place. And when the news of the final battle came, they had to immediately follow the few allies nearby to the battlefield and eliminate the false gods.

Gus did not care whether or not the identity of ‘Holy Son’ was acknowledged by the Southern Steam Legion.

After all, he had seen a higher, vaster world.

He knew that everything in front of him was an illusion, a chess board where data and information intersected.

Over the past few days, Gus had been considering the validity of Lu Qingchen’s words.

After careful consideration, he came to the conclusion that, although Lu Qingchen must have kept his real purpose a secret, he was not lying about the truth of the World of the Fist God.

Besides, the World of the Fist God was about to be destroyed.

On the way south, Gus had seen more and more evidence.

Firstly, more and more lightning bolts appeared in the sky.

It was fine during the day, but at night, dozens of streaks of lightning were zigzagging in the sky, making it look like a broken bowl. It was quite worrying that it might break and collapse at any moment.

Secondly, anomalies that violated the laws of nature were everywhere.
