Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

Chapter 3157: The Aftermath of the Vulture Plan

“What?”

Wei Qingqing’s last sentence ignited the flames of hope in the hearts of all the top experts. Ding Lingdang couldn’t help but interrupt her. With shining eyes, she asked, “You mean to say that the super body civilization also paid a terrible price in the ‘Starry Universe Competition’ to the point that they were ‘heavily wounded’?”

“Yes.”

Wei Qingqing nodded her head and said, “Birth, old age, illness, and death. This is the law of nature. Everything has its own destiny. When there is birth, there will be destruction. When there is prosperity, there will be decline. Even for a super body civilization, it is impossible to get rid of this eternal law.

“I don’t know what kind of strike the super body civilization suffered, nor do I know its ‘injuries’. I only know that, for tens of millions of years, it temporarily let go of the pursuit of the survivors of the Primeval Civilization and the refugees, but it has been resting in the center of the sea of the universe, including the carbon-based intelligent creatures of the Pangu Universe. The development of a hundred generations of civilization is also related to the hibernation of the super body civilization. I can’t think of a second reason other than its ‘heavy wounds’.

“In short, the Star Ocean Imperium billions of years ago ended with the collapse of the Primeval Civilization. But the split, fleeing, and hibernating Primeval Beings did not give up resistance—at least, they did not give up struggling. For tens of millions of years, they might have forgotten the glory of their ancestors, their origins, and even their original strength, but they developed a new, splendid civilization according to the different environments of their hiding places.

“Just like us?”

Ding Lingdang thought for a moment and asked again, “Since the collapse of the Star Ocean Imperium ten thousand years ago, the survivors have evolved into brand-new social systems and civilizations in various Sectors of the Pangu Universe, such as the imperium, the Holy Alliance, the federation, the Flying Star Sector, the Heaven’s Origin Sector, the Blood Demon Sector, and the ancient sacred world. There are all kinds of bizarre things in them.

“Yes, it is.”

Wei Qingqing added, “Other than the different branches of the fleeing Primeval Clan, there are also countless low-level native civilizations and alien species in the center of the sea of stars. They are not willing to submit to the super bodies, either, because of the terrifying flood. Instead, they have formed an alliance with the remnants of the Primeval Clan to resist the flood together.

“Wait!”

Ding Lingdang shouted on behalf of everybody again. “Don’t the low-level civilizations and the alien species hate the Primeval Civilization? I remember that the Primeval Civilization appeared as ‘conquerors’ and savaged the entire universe in the beginning.

“There are no eternal friends, only eternal interests. The undeniable truth in the civilization of mankind holds true among the intelligent species in the multiverse.

Wei Qingqing explained, “That’s right. In the beginning, the Primeval Civilization’s image in the sea of stars was indeed that of a ‘brutal conqueror’. They destroyed the homes of countless intelligent species and the nests of other species in space. They were notorious and full of evil.

“However, that was millions of years ago. Do you care that some primitive tribe launched an attack on your ancestors’ primitive tribe millions of years ago?

“The glory of the Primeval Civilization has passed a long, long time ago. Right now, all that is left is a bunch of battered and exhausted soldiers. They have never even enjoyed the slightest bit of benefits from the conquest of the universe by their ancestors. From the moment they were born, they have been shivering in the shadow of the flood tide, living a life of anxiety. What’s the point of retaliating against such a bunch of stray dogs?

“On the Flood Tide civilization’s side, it’s true that they appeared as avengers who preside over justice and peace when they were still weak. They were also supported by countless low-level native civilizations and alien species in space. The ‘big data superlink’ in the beginning should not have involved the obliteration of free will, either. Therefore, the super civilization was trusted by countless species and civilizations and expanded crazily.

“However, when it turned from the ‘Ghost Avenger’ on the planet that had been destroyed a long time ago into an apocalyptic cosmic tide, terrible changes must’ve taken place inside it, too, which made countless native civilizations and space residents realize that it was not as bright and kind as it appeared to be and that it might be an even more formidable enemy than the Primeval Civilization.

“At the very least, the Primeval Civilization is an enemy that is ‘understandable within the normal range’. The strong prey on the weak. The winners are kings. Survival of the fittest is survival of the fittest. All species and civilizations are the same. Whoever receives the power of the Primeval Civilization will embark on the same path as the Primeval Civilization. Everybody is the same. There is no one more evil than anybody else.

“But the super civilization… is entirely different. It is incomprehensible, unpredictable, and even indescribable. Its true form and purpose have always been hidden in the mist.

“When the low-level civilizations and the alien species in space suddenly realized the truth, it was already too late. The people who were connected to the super bodies could never be freed again. They could only send warnings to those who had not joined them yet. Most of them did not want to believe the warnings and chose to be swallowed by the flood. But some of the species and civilizations who were not willing to cooperate with other civilizations chose to make peace with their enemies millions of years ago and face the ‘enemy of freedom’ together.

“All in all, there are two such forces in the sea of the multiverse today. One of them is the Flood Tide, the super body civilization, and the other is the ‘Alliance of Resistance’, which consists of all the people who are against the Flood Tide with the remnants of the Primeval Civilization as the core.

“Understood.”

Ding Lingdang nodded. “Then, how did you run into the starships of the ‘Resistance Alliance’ and become their messenger? What do they want? More importantly, have the Resistance Alliance or the flood found our coordinates?”

“Probably not yet.”

Wei Qingqing explained, “Although it is named ‘Alliance’, the overall strength of the Resistance Alliance is not very strong, at least compared to the Flood Tide. If the Flood Tide is a regular occupying force armed to the teeth, it is just an organization like the ‘cosmic guerrillas’. Even its predecessor, the Primeval Civilization at its peak, was no match for the Flood Tide, much less it.

“Therefore, for thousands of years, the coalition of the rebels has been mostly hiding and fleeing. They rarely take the initiative to attack. It can even be said that ‘the fugitives communicate with each other and help each other so that it will be easier for them to run away’ is a rather helpless slogan. One more day of survival is a victory.

“However, at the moment when the Resistance Alliance launched countless ‘Messenger starships’ into the universal ocean, the Alliance learned a piece of precious news through secret channels and after a lot of risk. It was said that some ‘awakened people’ in the depths of the flood rebelled and launched a great rebellion, which was code-named ‘Vulture Plan’. Although the rebellion failed to destroy the flood, it dealt another heavy blow to the flood, which put it in its weakest state in the past tens of millions of years.

“What?”

Ding Lingdang seemed to have two thunders tied to her feet. She screamed and almost jumped up.

Those who knew the truth, such as Xiao Ming and Wen Wen, were shocked, too, and did not know what to say for a long time.

“What’s wrong?”

Wei Qingqing was slightly surprised, “Is there a problem?”

“N-no.”

Taking a deep breath, Ding Lingdang held her chest and said, “Sister Qingqing, please continue.”

“The Resistance Alliance realized that it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity after verifying the authenticity of the ‘Vulture Plan’.

Wei Qingqing continued, “Before that, the Flood Tide, a super civilization, had occupied more than 90% of the space zones in the middle of the Universe Ocean. The stray dogs of the Resistance Alliance were hiding everywhere. Their living space was getting smaller and smaller. It was impossible for them to develop a civilization of a higher level. Therefore, they made a comeback and fought the Flood Tide to the death.

“Let’s take it down while it’s down. If we can’t defeat it when the tide is at its weakest, we will never be able to defeat it and lose all hope.

“Therefore, after tens of millions of years of seclusion, the coalition of the rebels went all out and prepared for the final battle against the flood with all their strength.

“As part of the final war, the coalition of the rebels sent countless ‘messenger starships’ to the remote, unpopulated places in the multiverse. They did not have a destination in mind. It was like a ‘broadcast’ for the entire universe, calling on all the species and civilizations that loved freedom and were not far away from the flood tide, including their compatriots from the beginning of the Yen civilization, to work together against the flood tide.

“During the tens of millions of years of dealing with the flood tide, the rebels who were struggling for survival developed some cutting-edge technologies that even the flood tide was not equipped with. For example, the ‘anti-space folding’ technology that can perform millions of space jumps within a short period of time. It can’t be helped. The speed of the fugitives is always a little bit higher than that of the hunters, because the hunters can always start over after one failure, and the fugitives will never have a second chance after one failure.

“Using the ‘anti-space folding’ technology and the precious resources that had been stored for tens of millions of years, the Resistance Alliance broadcast a large-scale broadcast to the edge of the multiverse. After tens of millions of space jumps, one of the starships finally climbed over the black wall and reached the Pangu Universe, where it detected my existence.

“Space jumps are extremely difficult. Even the cutting-edge starship built by the Resistance Alliance was seriously damaged and almost scrapped after tens of millions of space jumps. It was impossible to perform a new space jump. Even the ‘messenger’ inside the starship was killed by the four-dimensional storm. Therefore, the carrier chose me to be the new ‘messenger’. After I learned the reason and the consequences, I thought that it was necessary to let my compatriots know that it was the reason I returned to the Heaven’s Origin Sector.
